Creative
Tip: Share
a web image library with NetPublish.

Say
you manage a creative department that has amassed a large library
of company images (product photography, buildings, headshots, etc).
How can you easily make this photo library available to outside
vendors or other people within the organization?
In
the last month at CreativeTechs, we've helped several companies
address these needs by setting up their own web-based photo libraries.
In
each case the process involved helping our client consolidate and
organize their company's image library onto a central server. Images
were sorted into major category folders, and the collection was
shared out as a password-protected website using Extensis
Portfolio and Extensis
NetPublish. In several cases an inexpensive Mac mini was used
to host the dedicated image library website.
We've
created a short QuickTime tutorial showing how to share out a Portfolio
catalog using Netpublish:

Note:
Image management and keywording strategies is a big topic to cover
in a quick tip format. Future issues QuickTips we will cover some
tricks and techniques that can greatly simplify keywording strategies
using Adobe Bridge.
