CreativeTechs: 395 People Attended our InDesign Webinar!

This morning Jason Hoppe led his Moving Faster in InDesign CS4 and CS3 workshop. My adrenaline is still pumping. It was a fantastic workshop. A total of 395 people attended from across the globe.
Hopefully, some participants from today’s workshop will leave comments on what this was like from their side.
I’m bummed. We use Screenflow to record this webinars. It is normally a great tool, but today’s event didn’t record properly, which means we don’t have a copy for download. So, we are going to run this webinar again next week so I can get a clean recording:
Free Webinar: Moving Faster in InDesign CS4 and CS3.
Don’t Miss Out! We’re offering a command performance Thursday, Feb 12th. It’s free. And this time we’re opening the doors for up to 1,000 participants. Please, help us put out the word!
Webinar Participants From Around the Globe.
I pulled a world map showing where people joined us today. Ranging from cities across the United States:
- Long Island, NY
- Alexandria, VA
- Greenville, SC
- Broken Arrow, OK
- Dallas, Texas
- Bend, OR
And around the world:
- Melbourne, Australia
- Zagreb, Croatia
- Helsinki, Finland
- South Africa
- Berkshire, Great Britain
- Amsterdam, The Netherlands
This is amazing to me. We are having a lot of fun here in Seattle, and we are really enjoying opening these workshops up to the world.
Stay tuned for some big news coming in an upcoming email tips newsletter. We’ve got something big planned. (Sign up for the newsletter here).

Thank you for an enjoyable webinar. I learned a few new tricks, and am always hungry for Adobe CS4 info and tutorials.
The webinar video feed was just fine, with only the slightest delay.
Keep up the good work. Also enjoy and profit from your emailed tips…

This morning’s talk was fantastic – Jason is a great presenter and he did a terrific job. I was the soul tuning in all the way from Australia and though I probably won’t be getting up at 3:30 am to catch the encore, I enjoyed the performance and found it easy to follow, as well as extremely informative.
One minor complaint: During the Q&A we could hear the answer to questions asked live in the training room in Seattle, but we couldn’t hear the question which was a bit confusing. Perhaps repeating the questions into the mic for the benefit of the internet watchers would be a good idea?
Thanks again!!!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:14 pm
Jason really knows his stuff.
The feed was excellent.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Thanks for the complementary webinar! I have always enjoyed and read most of your newsletters.
You have become a top quality global resource for not only Mac tech issues but for Adobe applications judging from the locations of the attendees…. pretty good for a small company in Seattle, you should be proud. I have participated in other computer meeting / set ups, yours worked very well.
The web discussion is great for us disconnected freelancers in the outback. Ev3n though I’ve used Quark and InDesign since their inception, it’s always, good to hear how others are relating to the applications and how others approach interaction issues — good sales tool for Adobe on upgrades too, CS4 is in my future….
All the best..
February 4th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Thank you so very, very much for the great free webinar today! As soon as it was over I changed several settings in InDesign based on your suggestions. I learned a lot of great tips. I’m excited to use them. I’ll be referring to my notes on a regular basis to help speed up my workflow. Please, please continue to offer your webinars. I will definitely tell others and be back again!!!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Lots of shortcuts and tips on making jobs go faster. Interesting that the most recent versions of InDesign now have some of the functions that were dropped when they changed from PageMaker (remember PageMaker??) such as “build booklet”. And that some items have remained the same through many versions (such as setting default preferences before opening a document). Especially liked seeing the functions that are new with the newest version. I was scribbling as fast as I could. Thanks!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Thanks for all the extras in this webinar. I’ve been using ID for a while and still gathered a few new tips. Technical side went pretty well too. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
I thought the webinar was fantastic. I missed a few things that were said, but all in all it was terrific. I could easily see what was being done onscreen, the sound was good and the information covered was extensive. There were some things that only work in CS4 and I don’t have that yet, but I’m sure one day I will so it was good to get it down on paper as much as possible. Wish I had the time to take it again next week when you have it again.
Please let us know if you are going to release a PDF of the handout. Thanks again… it was great!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
My mind is still swimming with all the terrific new techniques and tricks. I’m amazed how many of them applied to CS3 that I hadn’t realized. I’m going to try and synthesize as many as I can but I also hope you will make the handouts available (at a so-called nominal fee
at some point.
Tremendous work, Jason and Craig!
Thanks. Aliza
ps. One small criticism. I started glazing over after 1 hour and 45 minutes.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:19 pm
This was an outstanding opportunity… to receive the best free information in a really convenient way. I’m self taught on InDesign. It is a good program for self-teaching, but there has always been so much I wanted to know from a layout designer’s perspective regarding workflow efficiency. This was a wonderful class, for which I took copious notes, and will be able to apply the tips and tricks immediately. The format was perfect and worked well, even on my wireless network. I hope you continue to do tons of them – I’d even pay for it.
Thanks for being a great resource.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
I thought the webinar was fantastic. Easy to follow and chocked full of information. I don’t have CS4 yet, but it was good to get hints as to what more can be done in the new release.
If I can manage, I want to take it again next week… it will just depend on available time.
Thanks for the email tips as well… I find them very helpful.
Terrific job!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
Thanks for offering this webinar free of charge. The no cost inspired me to try my first webinar, and I found it really informative and enjoyable. There was no lag time at all throughout the stream which surprised me. I’m an experienced InDesign user, but learned many new skills. Thank you!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Jason & Craig: thanks for the fast-paced and eminently understandable presentation this morning. This is the first time I’ve attended a remote one, and it worked just fine, especially considering the savings in time and gas! As always, I was reminded of a couple old tricks and learned a pile of new ones. Hope to see some more in the future.

February 4th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Loved, loved, loved the ID class today. I attended in person. My co-worker watched it as a webinar and she feels the same. I think soon Creative Techs will rule the world. BRAVO…rock on!
Thanks and please do more!!!!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:24 pm
Great seminar, a few of us watched it here and learned some handy tips. Looking forward to more I hope! So sorry your recording didn’t go well, but it will make some of my friends happy as they cound’t clear their schedules quickly enough to get in today, but I bet they will next week!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Wow. Couldn’t write fast enough. Couldn’t quit saying “wow!”
Keep up the great work, great conversational delivery, general
enthusiasm.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Thank you for offering this webinar. I had been waiting on the edge of my seat to attend one of these, so when this free one came up I blocked of the time and had no excuses not to attend. I like how the key strokes pop-up on the screen so you can tell which keyboard buttons have been pressed. This visual cue helps it stick in my memory much better. I am a PC users so I had to keep thinking about which buttons to substitute, for those of us who do not work on the Mac platform – a quick reminder at the beginning of the session of which buttons are to be substituted would be helpful.
I will be watching to see which sessions you have available next.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
This was really very informative. While I am a heavy duty Quark user, I needed to started tipping my toe into InDesign last year and subscribed to Lynda.com to get up and running. That was really helpful.
But I must say, today was pretty terrific. I tried to write short key phases quickly so as not to forget what was shown… but also so I would not miss the next tip.
There was just so much very good everyday user info. Lots of good, really good tips.
And it was really nice that you chose to combine CS3 and CS4. I work in CS3, but the new tools in CS4 look really nifty. When my clients upgrade so will I.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
This morning’s webinar was fantastic- so many things I didn’t know! Some incredible moments of “WOW- that is going to change my workflow forever!”
Jason is an amazing presenter- I wasn’t bored, and easy to follow his presentation.
Great job guys!! Keep it coming!
Thanks again.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Cool webinar–until I had to leave the office. I’m glad you’ll be running it again.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
I was really surprised that I already know many of Jason’s tips, I credit that to Jason’s excellent teaching while I was at Ai.
I tried some of the new tricks I learned today in Illustrator and they worked there, too. Yes, I am a happy girl!
As far as the webinar tool goes, it worked well for me. Everything went smoothly and I didn’t have to learn how to use it.
Thank you for putting on this helpful class!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:31 pm
The webinars are a BRILLIANT way to participate in Creative Tech’s training workshops. My employer allows me to participate from work, so there’s no lost downtime travelling between the CT studio and my place of work, plus I get to employ everything I’ve learned almost immediately. The instruction is always clear, concise and entertaining, and Jason & crew do a great job of answering questions. I only wish there was a “pause” button so I could jot down better notes!
February 4th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Wow! Jason, that was great! As usual, bunches of good tips. These workshops are so inspiring to use all the information presented…but like Craig said…my mind is full to overflowing after the workshop! Great job to all behind the scenes as well. Hope you continue to have more.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Thank you so much for the free Webinar.Jason was an awesome teacher. I certainly learned a few tricks that I plan to put to use shortly. I hope you will be bringing more free events such as this to us.
Your newsletter is always welcome in my in-box.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Watched from Sydney Australia and well worth getting up at 3:30am to do it!
Sure was “Moving Fast” – but kept me interested. I would pay a small fee for the notes. As a new user of Adobe products I appreciated so many “shortcuts”, but can’t remember them all.
I’ll watch out for other webinairs, for sure. A GREAT way to learn when the presenter is as organised and knowledgeable.

February 4th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
I’m still out of breath..I would love to view this whole webinar again via DVD or video podcast. It was G-R-E-A-T! So many techniques and shortcuts…Thank You, Jason and the crew at CreativeTechs.
February 4th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Great webinar. Even though I consider myself an advanced user, I learned many new things. Jason was an excellent speaker/instructor. His instructions were easy to follow. Everything worked well on our end, it was easy to log on and we encountered no problems. Keep up the excellent work. Thank you very much!

February 4th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
Another incredible session! Jason is an incredible wealth of knowledge, and he sure did pour it on!!
If that’s how most of your webinars go, you’re sure to have a big hit on your hands…
Thanks,
John
February 4th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
Great talk, some fantastic tips even for seasoned InDesign users, and professionally presented. The webinar went without a hitch, and it was an enjoyable event. These guys certainly know their stuff!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
I LOVED the webinar today and learned even more than I thought I would. Great format and just the right speed of instruction. Great job you guys and I can’t wait to do another one. I was blessed to get the free link from the Graphic Mac blog that I love! Thanks so much for your efforts and I will recommend the repeat webinar next week to friends!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Thank you so much for the GREAT webinar this morning. I learned a lot of cool new tricks that will hopefully help speed up my workflow a bit. You guys really know your stuff! It was very easy to understand and I liked the interaction with you during the presentation. It’s nice to actually talk to a live person who can answer questions about what we’re watching on the screen. I can’t wait to see the next one! Thanks guys!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
Thank you. Very useful webinar.
February 4th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
It was great to hear the comparisons between CS3 and CS4. Keep up the great work and dedication. Thank You !!!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:31 pm
thanks for another helpful webinar. It’s great to see someone else’s tips and tricks and reassuring to see a few I’ve been using myself.
Thanks again.
February 4th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
Excellent overview. Lots of nuggets, even for experienced users. Thanks for offering it free.
February 4th, 2009 at 5:40 pm
Jason really packed a lot in with nary a glitch or a stumble. Great tips even for the seasoned pros. You guys answered some of the quirks of Indesign that bug me like the “allow pages to shuffle”. I’ll be recommending the followup session to friends. Thanks!!!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Great job, Jason and Craig! Definitely worth the time. Thanks for sharing!
February 4th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
this is the best news! I signed up and then totally forgot about it this morning! (oops!) I heard from a twitter friend that it was killer – so i will NOT forget on the 12th.
February 4th, 2009 at 6:08 pm
All I can say is, “I WANT MORE!!!” You guys are fantastic. I was afraid there would be glitches, but everything went smoothly and I learned a lot! Keep those webinars coming!!
February 4th, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Thanks to Jason and Craig! Lot’s of useful info.
This was my first webinar and it was a good one!
Hope you make the 02/12 encore PDF/video presentation available to the 02/04 attendee’s as I will not be able to make the 02/12.
February 4th, 2009 at 6:14 pm
Great presentation. Jason is a true teacher, not a clock watcher. Appreciated the enthusiasm. Thank you!
February 4th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
Great presentation today! I can’t wait to try out all the new things I learned. Keep up the good work!
February 4th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
This was the most amazing webinar. I have to admit that during the training I was so humbled by all the information I never knew about InDesign — but now after applying what I learned I feel like a real pro! So many tips, tricks, and techniques that save time and make my job even that much more enjoyable. Thank you, Jason!
February 4th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
Thanks for the Webinar. Though I did know a lot of the content already, I still managed to pick up some production-enhancing tips. And as you suggested at the beginning, I did feel a sense of accomplishment.
P.S. Thanks for showing us the Seattle attendees on the Webcam. Nice furniture you have there.
February 4th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
Excellent webinar- it looks like a success! Very enjoyable to have such a wealth of information available. The tips just kept on coming!
Keep up the great work and keep me posted on future events!
February 4th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
I learned some tips and techniques that will definitely help make my everyday work more productive.
The webinar software worked great on my computer. So convenient to be able to attend a seminar like this right in my office!
February 4th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
Thoroughly inspiring. I love the time-saving shortcuts.
I’ll be able to do more projects in less time and play more music when I’m done.
February 4th, 2009 at 7:35 pm
Absolutely loved this webinar!!! It’s been a while that I wanted to participate in one of these but… crazy schedule & 2 kids…. Finally I made it, luckily it was even free! I was home with my youngest daughter in a very comfortable rocking chair, enjoying getting better in the program I love without even going anywhere!!!
I am still working with CS2, updated myself with video courses on CS3, but not using it at work (they still haven’t made the switch
.
It was great to see that if you know very well the program helps you easily transfer from one version to another.
Great webinar!!! Keep up the great work, love your newsletter! Love getting the tips & tricks!
Also the fact that you made these webinars available to download after is great, as I mentioned earlier, I am very, very, very busy, & that helps me to keep my sanity, if I can go get what I need when I have time.
Again, thank you very much!!!
February 4th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Great webinar today.I learned some new things as well as some things I forgot. I am always amazed at the things that InDesign can do.I am glad you guys covered the search function as a way to get rid of formatted junk. I discovered that by accident one day it made my ads so much easier to do! Thanks again.
February 4th, 2009 at 8:13 pm
Craig, you and Jason put on a great show… for the two of you to keep up with one another, and have it look pretty smooth to us is no small feat. Glad I found you guys.
I knew much of the tips, but there were plenty of really good new info to keep me interested, which was a good balance I think for the audience. Solid knowledge with just the right sprinkling of smiles… just wish I could be there in person to sit in one of those chairs!
I really appreciate the freebie, I too look forward to the handout for a low cost
(And the handout for the font management class from last week too)
February 4th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
I want to thank you so much for offering this free webinar. It would be worth every penny, and I will highly recommend this option for training at my workplace. I had my ear buds in at my desk and let slip a “wow” and “really?!” every so often. The presentation was seamless, Jason’s passion for sharing every tidbit made it fun, and I was bummed that I had an ad due and couldn’t hang out for too much of the extra stuff. Much to the delight of my coworker, I shared how to make a jaggy looking logo imported from Adobe Illustrator look pretty onscreen. This has bugged her for some time. Thanks for making our little world a little bit better.
February 4th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
Great webinar and well worth the time. I’m ready for MORE!!!
February 4th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Thanks for the free webinar, I learned a few useful tricks that’ll certainly come in handy. Please keep them coming.
Keep up the good work, and thanks again!
February 4th, 2009 at 10:00 pm
The webinar was fantastic. I was able to pay it forward today by passing along a tip I had learned to a coworker. Many thanks!
February 4th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Thank you so much for the most useful webinar! It was easy to follow and worked like a dream. I found a tip or two to tackle issues that have been bugging me, so it was well worth it.
The only slight annoyance was that we internet people couldn’t hear the questions of the Seattle audience, but that was not a big issue.
Thanks again, I’m sure to join in again!
February 4th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
It was a quite informative webinar. The presenter was a real pro and explained everything quick and clear. Great Job.
February 4th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
Great job guys! A good webinar, a lot of tips from a pro! Looking forward for more..
PS. I didnt see any comments (except 2 maybe) in the dialog box.
I’ve joined the webinar like an hour before (I mixed up the start time) but it was fun to watch you guys prepare – checking the cams and all.
February 5th, 2009 at 12:01 am
Thoroughly enjoyed the webinar this morning. I thought I already knew a lot of speed tips, but today I learned a few more. Thanks!
February 5th, 2009 at 12:16 am
Jason’s knowledge performance was WOW! The “mystery” live audience and Craig’s web comment interjections were delightful. It was especially nice to be in the privacy of my own office when I began to glaze over…
Yes, please sir, more webinars delivered with the same vitality and stellar content.
February 5th, 2009 at 12:40 am
The Webinar was great. I attended it from Germany, Stuttgart. Jason did not promise too much: 50 topics which increase your speed in InDesign. Wow! I loved it. Nearly every single thing he presented was combined with an “Aaah”, “Oooh” or “Wow, that´s cool”!!!
Thanks for the free offer. And thanks Jason for the numerous smilings in my face, he provided with his performance.
We want more…
February 5th, 2009 at 2:01 am
I live in Brazil and the webinbar was a fantastic opportunity to keep in touch with the newest things in CS4. I teach in college and I’m already using everything that I learned.
Thank you guys.
February 5th, 2009 at 3:48 am
Great presentation. I’m from the old school in a Quark world which I love and have had a trouble free experience with it and the support, more so than Adobe, but with the need to know more, it was a great introduction and primer. Jason did good. Wish I could join you once again for the re-run as a refresher. Keep up the great work and presentations.
Thanks a bunch!
February 5th, 2009 at 4:15 am
First time I‘ve attended one of these and really enjoyed it. Plus found it very helpful – have been a die hard quark fan for years but am trying to use indesign a little more now…..
February 5th, 2009 at 4:24 am
I was unable to attend the first Webinar, so I’m very happy to see that another one will be offered. Thanks!
February 5th, 2009 at 4:49 am
Very informative seminar. Real cool stuff. Kind of fast to absorb it all. Too bad it didn’t record. If it did, would I have been able to play it back on my Mac? The streaming was flawless, I felt like I was in Seattle with you guys. Keep up the good work and keep sending me those great tips. I am passing this on to all my associates in the graphics industry here on the east coast NYC/New Jersey area. Once again, thanks for the opportunity to attend this exciting event. Carl Cidoni
CIDONIDESIGN ASSOCIATES.
February 5th, 2009 at 4:56 am
Fantastic webinar!! Unlike vendor-sponsored webinars, this one was 100% content and NO marketing sales pitches. Also impressive was the technology used. Video and audio streams never dropped out (unlike other presentation solutions). Everything was crystal clear.
Thanks for all the efforts.
February 5th, 2009 at 5:33 am
Thank you so much for putting this webinar on. It was chock full of great tips. I hope that a book is in the works, because it was obvious that Jason could have gone on for much longer.
Thanks again and I look forward to the re-broadcast.
February 5th, 2009 at 5:54 am
Great presentation! My pen is still hot from all the note taking. Keep it up and look forward to more webinars!
February 5th, 2009 at 6:07 am
Excellent webinar. Impressive technology that delivered informative content. Thanks!
February 5th, 2009 at 6:23 am
The webinar was great! Jason did an awesome job showing his tips and tricks and I learned many things that will definitely make the work flow easier. I loved how the keystroke buttons showed up at the bottom of the screen just to clarify what he was doing.
February 5th, 2009 at 6:28 am
Thank you for providing the opportunity to learn from an INDD master in such a well-presented webinar… for free!!! Where do you get THAT these days?! Thrilling to be in the webin-audience for this event, and I look forward to more in the future. A great way to learn within a busy schedule. Now, if I could only TIVO it!
February 5th, 2009 at 6:29 am
Good morning.
This was a great presentation. It was so easy to follow along and the information was very timely. I put many of the tips I learned into practice that same afternoon. I will be spreading the word to the other designers at our institution and I’m sure that they tune into the re-broadcast and will be equally as impressed. Thank you for opening this up to everyone.
February 5th, 2009 at 6:32 am
Excellent webinar! From the quality of the feed to the skills of the presenter, it was all very professional and smoothly run – congratulations! I look forward to seeing your future efforts …
February 5th, 2009 at 6:38 am
The ID webinar was the best yet, condensing a huge amount of tips and tricks and covering so many features. The time flew by, and I’m sure Jason could have gone on another few hours with more goodies, given all the feedback questions from such a large group of online attendees.
Thanks for all the effort and prep that went into the presentation, everything flowed perfectly.
February 5th, 2009 at 6:45 am
Thank you Jason very much for such an excellent free stuff. I am working on InDesign from the first version and thought that I know almost everything
, but your tips on customization of the program were terrific. It will make my work so much easier.
Thank you and I am looking forward to new webinars from you.
February 5th, 2009 at 6:52 am
Thanks so much for the Webinar. This was the first one I have signed on for, I loved it!
The tips were terrific. It would have taken forever to find out such great time saving maneuvers on my own.
Thanks!
February 5th, 2009 at 6:54 am
Fabulous! Time-saver supreme for learning great new tricks and tips quickly and easily. Learning pain factor = ZERO. I (and all my co-designers) have already signed-up for the encore presentation.
February 5th, 2009 at 6:54 am
Thanks for the webinar. It was packed full of great tips!
February 5th, 2009 at 6:56 am
Thank you! This was the most useful how-to session I’ve ever attended on any subject! I couldn’t write fast enough to get down all the tips, but just using half of what I did capture on paper will increase my InDesign efficiency tremendously!
February 5th, 2009 at 7:02 am
It was certainly fun to virtualy attend. As a long-time ID user I knew most things but still had a few aha-moments. Technically it worked out quite good. Some lag and several times the audio or video stopped for say 30 seconds or so. But hey, I’m on the other side of the globe.
February 5th, 2009 at 7:07 am
For some reason I didn’t get any audio at all. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong?
February 5th, 2009 at 7:09 am
I had to join late because our computers were down so I’m very excited about your “command performance.” I’ll spread the word!
Thanks.
February 5th, 2009 at 7:32 am
It was just excellent. I learned a lot.
February 5th, 2009 at 7:44 am
This is the third webinar of CreativeTech’s I’ve participated in. It’s so great to get tips from professionals that use the technology, but aren’t selling it. I know some of the stuff already, but there is always something new I pick up. Also, I too was bummed about the recording not going through, I was eager to purchase the download! I could see the full presentation (wow, 2hrs!) because of a print deadline (real world glitches). I’m ecstatic that you’re doing it again. I’ll spread the word.
Kudos, guys.
BTW I’m eager to have a webinar on PDFs covering advanced pre-press, as well as accessibility applications.
February 5th, 2009 at 7:51 am
Invaluable . . . looking forward to more
Thanks for responding so quickly to the question I presented after (iClass) was over.
February 5th, 2009 at 8:13 am
I really enjoyed the webinar. Got lots of good tips, especially since I don’t use InDesign enough to realize how powerful an application it is. How about doing one of these on Flash?
February 5th, 2009 at 8:20 am
Excellent! Jason did a great job of presenting the information so it was easy to follow. I learned a lot of new shortcuts.
Thank you so much for this webinar. I would definitely sign up for another and will spread the word about the repeat next week. Sorry the recording didn’t work out for you.
Also, I really appreciate the weekly tips.
February 5th, 2009 at 8:53 am
I am sure that the Webinar was a great success. The visual transmission worked fine, but for some reason we could not connect to the audio. What we were seeing on the screen looked good, but without audio it was hard to follow. I tried connecting with a PC and a Mac and neither connected to the audio feed. What about the possibility of captions for those who can’t get or don’t want audio? Great job though. Really liked the format and presentation.
February 5th, 2009 at 8:56 am
Wonderfully informative webinar! The pace was perfect and it was chock full of fabulous tips. And thank you for making it available for free. I am looking forward to more like it.
Thanks again!!

This was a great webinar. There were definitely tips that I will be using every day now in InDesign. The moderator and presenter were very responsive to the audience and it was a great interactive experience. And it was wonderful that it was free too.

I was pleasantly surprised how well it went, how few techno glitches there were and fast Jason was able to present the material. I will join in again. Keep it up!

Jason’s doing exactly what he was meant to do! It’s one thing to know ID as well has he does, but to be able to explain it as clearly, simply and quickly as he does is truly a gift. This is the third webinar I’ve attended (all by Jason) and all were extremely valuable. Two additional comments: was there a handout for this latest one? (I didn’t get one via email as usual). and keeping these to 90 minutes is really key – like walking through a museum – the brain can only absorb so much at one time! Keep up the good work guys.

I met with my artist/business group last night and a couple of us had logged into your seminar. It was terrific. Helpful to a degree as a refresher and with new tips as well, and, as my friend said, we could sit in our pajamas and file our nails at the same time. Thanks for being so generous with your information and time!

This was my first live webinar and I loved it. Thanks for making it free so I and many others could give it a try. Jason did a great job, and Craig you were a great question screener. How cool that so many people came together over the Net to experience the workshop. I got some great tips — Jason solved my placed Word file boxes around the URL mystery! And now I know I can learn from the comfort of my remote studio and feel like I’m there in-person. Bravo!

This was a great webinar. I learned so many great tips and many things I didn’t know I could do! I was impressed that when I asked a question I got an immediate response even if it wasn’t one of the questions posed to the presenter. I really appreciated that. Thanks so much for the opportunity. I’ve already sent out the announcement about next week’s webinar to anyone I know that uses InDesign!

I really enjoyed the webinar as well! Thought the diversity of the crowd was really fun, to think we were watching from all over the planet. Quite a bit of it was review for me, which was just a giant pat-on-the-back…but I did take away a list of a few things I didn’t know. The best part of it all, FREE! Will definitely tune in again if offered. Thanks again from Minneapolis!

I was so impressed that this went up on Facebook just after:
Judy is completely blown away by the InDesign webinar she just attended. Great job, Jason and Craig at CreativeTechs!
This was a workshop that CreativeTechs decided yesterday to offer free to anyone who wanted to attend online. It was scheduled to be 90 minutes and I stayed with them for 120 and they were still going strong when I had to log out! Great tips, enthusiastic presenter, who paced the content well. It was very fast, but clear, with strong content for more advanced users. My hand hurts from taking so many notes. I love learning great tips and I can use most of these!

Thanks so much for offering the free webinar, guys! The interface was fantastic. I work in InDesign all the time and yet I learned so many cool tips and tricks! I’ll be keeping a close eye on your future webinar offerings, and might even attend one in person since I live/work in the Seattle area.

Thanks for making this free. This is the kind of stuff that should be just given freely because it helps all of us work better and faster. I was so impressed with all the stuff that i learned and also that i already did know a lot of the shortcuts comparatively.
Indeed my brain was mushy after it all, but everything was quite helpful and i did start to use some of the stuff i learned that day.
Thanks guys, and i look forward to more of these. Maybe next time i can get out of work to go sit in those comfy chairs i saw in the room when you did the camera pan.
Thanks again

Thanks Jason & Craig.
Loved the webinar — lots of great tips, and it was easy to follow Jason. It moved fast and was a lot information to absorb. Couldn’t write fast enough. Might try to tune in again for next weeks repeat webinar, so more info will sink in.
Thanks for the freebee!

The webinar was great – thanks! I’ve attended many conferences and seminars since InDesign has come out, but I still learned more efficient ways of working.
February 5th, 2009 at 11:30 am
The webinar was fantastic! I liked the format and the speed. I took notes and learned a lot of shortcuts – some I knew – but was reminded.
Great job Jason!

Thanks again for the opportunity to participate in the Creative Techs
InDesign Webinar. It was the best overview I’ve seen and really filled in a lot of holes in my knowledge. It would be a great jump start for anyone using ID – at any level.
Give Jason kudos as well, he’s a true showman of a presenter and makes it all much more fun.
Kindest regards
Doug

What a great job!!!! I am a graphic designer specializing in Print–using CS3 Design Professional. The Webinar was fantastic! Although I had to leave before it completed, I thought that the tips and new information I received was invaluable. I am sorry that the Screenflow app didn’t record. I think I would have liked to have an opportunity to see it again at my leisure. I liked the way the session was geared towards using the CS3 package while also showing how Adobe’s CS4 would address the same issues. Since I have the other programs, I would be interested also in getting tips/hints/and from scratch demonstration on how to build a website using Dreamweaver incorporating Flash while utilizing files built in InDesign. I have been wanting to get use out of all of my CS3 programs, but have not had time to learn on my own. I am sure there are lot’s of us out here who are in the same position. Again, great job!

It was beneficial, some things were basic but I did get good tips and shortcuts. I have been using 4 since October and need all the help I can get. Thanks for making it Free!

Jam packed full of great tips and tricks. I’ve attended several of your webinars and always come away with a head full. I love learning in my pajamas!
Thanks muchly.

I thoroughly enjoyed the webinar, which was extremely informative and wonderfully conveyed.
Thanks again and the rest of our design team is looking forward to tuning in next week!

My intro to Indesign and boy it was a ridel. Awesome instructor, with lots of enthusiasm. Being from the Netherlands, and “green as grass” to Indesign the pace was a bit too quick for me, but still I’ve learned tons. So, THANKS A MILLION for this opportunity and the free webinar. Highly appreciated.
by the way: the creativetechs newsletters are always superb. Keep ‘m coming!

Thanks for a wonderful presentation — I’m working with Quark XPress 7.3 and now considering adding (not switching to) InDesign.
What would a “Working Faster” webinar be without a clear, speedy (but not TOO speedy — OK, sometimes) — and honest — exposition of ID. Will be installing CS2 ID soon (didn’t install when I got the Suite) due to the webinar.
The audio was great through desktop speakers — and on a 23″ monitor the video was fine.
Thanks to CreativeTechs and Jason for this — consider this a plea for a webinar on Quark 7 and/or 8!

Thanks guys! – A very entertaining and informative presentation. I have already used several of the great tips from the webinar. Keep up the good work and sign me up for the next one!
February 5th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Thanks for a great webinar! It was my first and I was very impressed. I took Jason’s class when I converted from Quark to InDesign, and it was great hearing his voice on this webinar. I hope to take more classes through CreativeTechs.
February 5th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
This was a wonderful webinar, thank you so much for offering it. After working with InD for many years, I was still able to learn time saving tips! I also appreciate the weekly e-mail. Please consider offering more free webinars for Adobe CS!
Thanks again!

Many thanks. The webinar was terrific and I learned some new things and was reminded of some stuff I’d forgotten. I’m a huge fan of Creative Techs and frequently tweet things from or about your emails, posts and seminars. Again thanks for being such an amazing resource.

I’ve been reading your Tips for some time, but was always busy during the webinars.
When you offered Moving Faster in ID, this week, I decided to drive into Seattle to sit in as part of the live audience just to check it out. Being self-taught, I’ve had personal sessions with Jason in the past and found him to be very knowledgeable and easy to follow, so I knew I was in for another treat. He and Craig make a great team. Their enthusiasm is contagious.
I was so glad I attended in person because of the invaluable HANDOUT The pace of the presentation is perfect, but I know that none of us can write fast enough for good notes and most of us would love to be able to refer to hard copy when our memories fail us. Hopefully the rest of you will get the opportunity to have this invaluable resource as a back up to this great presentation. Thanks!

Thanks for making your classes available remotely. I’ve enjoyed your weekly tips for some time (I play the song “Make the Logo Bigger” almost every day!) and was always disappointed that attending your seminars was impossible from Boston.
Jason was a terrific presenter – knowledgeable, personable, and precise. I agree with those who have said they’d pay a reasonable fee for the notes – especially since I know from participating in the webinar that the quality of the content would be so high and so helpful.
Keep up the good work!
February 6th, 2009 at 7:34 pm
Thank you so much. Hurray for key commands!!! I took 3 pages of notes. It’s always a good day when you learn something.
February 9th, 2009 at 6:12 am
Very nice setup. Very knowledgeable, very helpful. I too agree that it was a bit long.
I’d highly recommend these webinars.
February 9th, 2009 at 6:40 am
I would dearly love to take advantage of these wonderful opportunities, but I have to work.
Is there ever going to be one offered in the evening??
February 9th, 2009 at 11:01 am
Hi Craig!
I’m glad your thing screwed up, cuzz now, more free stuff. haw.
Sorry Jason. This is a pretty darn cool deal, and I enjoyed brushing up and intro on InDesign, cuzz I’m still holding on to my old CS2. Getting there….thanks for Creative Techs. You guys rock.
Even though Pshop will be basic, I’m signing up to see the tips and tricks. Great.
thanks much.

I have attended a couple of in-person workshops at CreativeTechs, and every time you guys amaze me! “Moving faster in InDesign” was absolutely bursting with tons of useful info. I have learned so much useful stuff! Jason is a great teacher, and we’re lucky to have CreativeTechs in Seattle.
Not to mention how cool it is to learn with hundreds of people around the world, and hear their questions answered in real time.
I’m signing up for the Photoshop course as well, because I just know Jason will reveal some cool tips.
Keep up the awesome job, guys!
