This isn’t a tip. It’s a screenshot Kyle just sent me from one of the cooler projects we’ve been involved in so far this year. Kyle and Jordan prepared an entire network of computer images that a client took to China on a laptop drive. Kyle had to help them configure the network sufficiently over the phone so he could get in remotely and finish the office setup.

This is, from front to back, an RDC connection to a windows machine running in VMWare on another mac, which is running on a mac, when is screen shared from another mac, which is connected to via iChat Screen Sharing feature, and is in China.

AIGA_SpaceNeedle-Template.png

AIGA_SpaceNeedle.gifI just received my invitation to the Seattle AIGA 2009 Membership Party. The card is printed on thick cardstock and invites you to trim-out the AIGA letters and assemble your own mini Space Needle. Here is a PDF:

AIGA 2009 Membership Invite - PDF

I try to schedule my papercraft tips for the long 3-day weekends. I’m a couple weeks early on this one, but given the timing I didn’t want to wait for the Memorial Day holiday.

Plus this piece was deisgned by one of our clients, Turnstyle. How could we resist?

Fun Stuff: Fold a Paper Macintosh for Christmas.

Need a last minute gift for that special creative pro? How about a new computer? Some assembly (and a good exacto knife) will be required.

For this year’s holiday tip, your friendly left-brain team at CreativeTechs has spent more time than we can justify tracking down templates for a wide variety of cut-out Macintosh computers. Browse through the list of available computers below. Each link will download a PDF template. Print out on card stock for best results.

Enjoy.

Last week’s CS4 Social at Luminous Works was a hit. Hours after the Adobe unveiling, a lucky group of Seattle designers and photographers had a chance to see CS4 in person (including some of the new 3D features in Photoshop CS4). Tonight, we’re holding another CS4 preview at the CreativeTechs office in South Lake Union:

We’ll probably miss a bunch of good posts, but we’ll try to keep these links updated as they appear over the next day.
