CreativeTechs: I Need Your Support! Please Comment.

I’ve got a special request this week. Jason and I are working on our next big online course. If you’ve ever gotten something out of an online class from CreativeTechs, we need your help now.
I’m hoping you’ll take the time to answer three questions in the comments below:
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
(How does our class format compare to local classes, training videos, or other online webinars?)
2. Where do you live?
(We want to demonstrate the size of our audience with the comments on this post. Tell us where you live, and what time of day you join in for class.)
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
(This is the important part. What does the experience feel like to you? Can you help describe this format to someone who’s never seen it?)
We’re planing an ambitious 6-month Photoshop course that builds from basics into advanced retouching techniques. To pull it off, we need new space, faster Internet, and some key partnerships. I’m talking with people this week, and I want to point skeptics among them to your comments to demonstrate that this online training format works.
We need your testimonials to help entice experts to Seattle for our little worldwide classroom. And I need to demonstrate the reach of our current classes in order to attract the support and sponsorship we’re going to need to keep this live class experience free.
Thanks!

PS. Scroll down to a comment I posted over the weeekend for my boldest public declaration so far about where we’re going with our online classroom. Scary and Exhilarating!
PS2. I’ve been updating and revising this post all weekend. So if early commenters don’t seem to be responding to the same questions, that’s MY fault, not theirs.

Please, please, please make this happen. Your courses are amazing and very useful…I’ve been following the webinars whenever possible. I would definitely be interested in an indepth Photoshop course!

I’ve been following the web courses whenever I can. I would definitely be interested in an indepth Photoshop course!

I am a graphic designer with The Ohio State University. Our budget cutbacks have greatly reduced our funding for professional development. Not only are the CreativeTech webinars inexpensive (and by inexpensive, I mean free!), but I have learned a great number of things from each and every lesson that CT has provided. The Twitter-based chat room has also afforded the opportunity to network with other designers, both close to home and around the country. There seems to be a culture of assistance and advice growing among the participants. Thank you, sincerely.

I just recently purchased Photoshop and Illustrator. I’m currently in the Illustrator course, which is very good. Just this last week I learned about Paths. This live class provided the most illustrative examples and live demonstration of easy to follow material I’ve seen.
This live interaction that’s available during the class is superb for learning and having concepts explained in more detail when requested. As easy as being there in a classroom.
I have a number of video tutorials, but with the Creative Tech teaching method, it’s is much easier to learn. And it’s free. It doesn’t get any better than that. However, I did purchase the bundle of classes so I’d always be able to go back and review. Always takes me a few times through material to absorb it fully.

I have “attended” several CreativeTech classes and also downloaded videos – they are so useful to refer to later. I plan on taking more classes as they become available. I use adobe products to support my freelance writing articles and for personal use. Thanks guys – keep it going!
June 26th, 2009 at 9:50 am
Photoshop training back in the Spring was a great class! You guys really helped me and inspired me to get in there and learn even more! Definitely interested in the longer tracked-classes.
June 26th, 2009 at 9:54 am
You guys have some of the best courses around! I’d jump at the chance to take a long-term class on any software. Keep up the great work.
June 26th, 2009 at 10:32 am
I cannot really imagine my business and knowledge base without Creative Techs. Blogging, fonts, Photoshop, google, seo. You name it. Creative Techs has always been there for me. Craig and Jason are awesome but I have always found everyone to be amazing there. Their recent collaboration with Steve Laskevitch of Luminous Works makes everything even sweeter.
The cool thing is they always keep staying ahead of the curve for the creative community when it comes to software training.
Nothing but the best.

this would be so great. Let’s hope for the best.

The online classes are the next best thing to a “life” teacher.
In the past webinars I did learn several new “tricks” that make my Photoshopping even more exciting, the only drawback – I am hearing now Jason’s voice, when I am making a mistake:) The prospect of having Photoshop classes every week, makes my (Photoshop Addicted) heart sing, no kidding. Thank you all so very much for sharing your knowledge so generously. You are providing a great service to the art community!
June 26th, 2009 at 11:33 am
This would be a great idea. I’ve had a lot of questions about stock photography prep and this would be right up my alley. Also looking for classes on Photoshop for web development and web content.
I’m in Central California and none of the local schools offer curriculum that is sufficient for my skill level (not a beginner, not expert), so online is my only alternative. YouTube and DeviantArt tutorials can only show you so much, but these online classes, where we can ask questions, get feedback from the chatrooms, and see the process in action are amazingly instructive and easy, even when they get technical.
June 26th, 2009 at 11:33 am
Creative Techs’ online classes are the best thing going. As a photoshop professional, I’m always using the online community to learn and share new tricks. The volume of great content that Creative Techs has the capacity to share will enrich the genre immeasurably.
June 26th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Something this valuable for free – should be done, and done properly.
There is too much amateur garbage out there and CreativeTech Tips should be a polished production.
June 26th, 2009 at 11:50 am
You are one of the best trainers and producers on the net. Keep Up!
June 26th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
I took the Photoshop class from Jason and am taking his InDesign now. Jason is a superior speaker and teacher, as well as expert in the software. It’s an amazing combination for users at any level.
In Jason’s classes you get to see organized best practices in action. If you’re new you learn efficient work habits right out of the gate – not only how, but why.
For my part, I learned the functionality of features I’d never opened in twenty years of using Photoshop daily, as well as a new way to think. InDesign is new to me – I own it, but wouldn’t have bothered learning it if Jason’s classes weren’t so good.
June 26th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
this sounds like an awesome course! would love the opportunity to take it. i have just started the indesign course 2 weeks ago and have already learned a ton of valuable information.
June 26th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Love the idea of an expanded Photoshop course!! I attended and purchased the first series, and wouldn’t hesitate to do the same for the photography and scrapbooking series.
June 26th, 2009 at 12:45 pm
I took the Photoshop course and thought it was very beneficial. Jason is a very detailed and patient instructor and his knowledge of Photoshop is extensive. It seemed that all levels of Photoshop users were able to watch and learn from the class. I highly recommend CreativeTechs classes. Thanks Jason and Craig!
June 26th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
I’m already following the Illustrator & InDesign courses, and I always learn something. So it would be great to have also the Photoshop one.
Best regards from France
June 26th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
These free courses have been incredibly beneficial to me. I’m an art director who took a few years off, and I need to brush up on my skills to get back into the market. I have used Photoshop for many, many years but these classes have taught me how to be much more productive, which will make me a better prospect as an employee. And the price is unbeatable.
Thank you for this very valuable resource!
June 26th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
The courses are totally appreciated and more would be awesome. There is definitely a world wide following of Creative Tech Tips, I am from Australia. Keep up the good work.
June 26th, 2009 at 2:33 pm
This is definitely something that i’m interested in. Keep up the good work!
Greetings from Macedonia.
June 26th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Both staff and students at our University have been meeting weekly to take part in the excellent InDesign and Illustrator webinars from Creativetechs, and despite some of us knowing a bunch about the software and some of us just starting out, everyone comes away with something new. The service is excellent and really appreciated, especially with the price making it an easy sell to administration for our professional development time. Turns out now we’ll most likely be buying the whole series!
June 26th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
Count me in! I have been loving the InDesign and Illustrator classes. The only thing that made me sad was that I missed the Photoshop class.
June 26th, 2009 at 5:29 pm
You, your staff and your site have been a very valuable resource for me! Keep it up!
Thanks!
June 26th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
This would be a great addition to your line-up. Count me in!
June 26th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
That is a FANTASTIC idea! It’s so difficult to keep up with all the software updates and improvements, especially the cost. This would make all the difference!
June 26th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
These webinars are invaluable. The amount of knowledge one gains each week with each class is incredible. To be able to take advantage of them for free is unbelievable. The concept is fantastic. Thank you!
June 27th, 2009 at 5:46 am
My guess is that this would be very popular around the world. I have attended a few of the webinars. But since I live in Sweden, the time the webinars are held aren’t very good. It is often late at night. A suggestion would be to be able to have access to the seminar ONCE after it has been broadcast. That would be very useful. Just a suggestion, thanks anyway!

Thanks for all your comments and feedback so far! I’ve just updated this post with some more details on the 6-month course Jason and I as planning. Please help keep the comments coming. We especially need feedback and testimonials on how the training format we’ve developed so far compares to other online webinars or training videos like those available from Lynda.com. Thanks!
June 27th, 2009 at 8:46 am
Oh, and for Richard from Sweden, and others worldwide, part of my vision for this worldwide training classroom is definately adjusting schedules and methods to allow everyone worldwide to participate during the daytime.
June 27th, 2009 at 9:10 am
I’ve used a few of Lynda.com’s training videos and online library, as well as your free webinars. The material you cover is presented in a bit more of a casual manner, with interaction with your audience (or ‘students’). Perhaps that’s a goodway to cull some feedback about what material needs to be covered. But when I only have a small amount of time, I do find myself going to Lynda.com library, to get my answers. Not sure if that helps, but there ya go.
I was wondering what sort of certification (or equivalent) would a six-MONTH course result in? Guaranteed expert status, or something like that? I’m unsure if I would attend a class for that length of time, unless there was a specific goal that could be achieved with that sort of investment (and proof to back it up).
June 27th, 2009 at 10:30 am
Please Please I beg of you! The photoshop webinar will be very helpful. I’m a freelance photographer and I use photoshop alot. I miss the 1st one so I hope that you are able to run a second one.

I missed the first Photoshop course, so I am definitely interested in the 6 month program. I’m a self-employed web/graphic designer and photographer. Work has been so slow lately that the courses serve not only to occupy my time but also to hone my skills. I’m self-taught and only recently updated from CS to CS4 so there are a lot of missing pieces for me in terms of new features. Here’s my take on your questions
1. How is the current “CreativeTechs Experience” different? Specifically compared to local classes, training videos, or other online webinars?
What makes CreativeTechs different is two fold. 1) There is interaction between the students, which helps to reinforce techniques as well as get answers to questions. 2) There are two people talking…the instructor and the coordinator. For some reason, this is actually helps the learning process. I think that it adds a level of interactivity as the coordinator is able to interject real-time questions and comments that add value to the session. Compared to training videos, at least for me, the live broadcast forces you to put the time aside during the day, and the fact that it’s free is added incentive to show up. Local classes are more disruptive to one’s schedule..requiring you to leave your place of work or home…these days I don’t think people have that kind of available time. I haven’t been in any other live webinars, so I don’t have an opinion there.
2. Is there a large audience for this type of training?
Definitely yes. I’m many years removed from college, and up-to-date training in these programs is simply non-existant, especially at a more advanced level. I’d have to go to grad school, and even then I don’t believe the training is really out there for anything other than animation and video. Also, you can’t beat free. The economy will continue to be bad. So for those of us who have time rather than work on our hands, now is an excellent time to be upgrading our skill sets.
3. Does our live worldwide training format really work?
Sort of. While the twitter interaction is great, it can make it really hard to focus on what’s being taught. I think the Tip posting should be done on your end rather than from the participants. In some cases, having files to work on during the class would be an added benefit. Wouldn’t cost anything to post a file that will be worked on. For the intro stuff, it’s easy enough to follow along yourself, but I suspect as more advanced techniques are introduced, it would be helpful to have the file during rather than after the live broadcast.
As more people join the fray, it will become difficult to maintain focus on the twitter feed and the broadcast. Maybe there’s a better way to handle this…perhaps splitting the chat into separate rooms..questions, tips and other. This way people can focus just on what they want rather than having to scan through chatter. It’s a shame the netmeeting thing doesn’t have a chat feature…It’s difficult on a 22inch monitor to watch the broadcast, follow the feed and work along in the application without having to overlap windows
I think what you are doing…offering these courses…is an amazing gift. Keep up the good work!
June 27th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
Peri, thank you for such a thoughtful response! This really helps! And gives me some important things to work on for future classes. I especially agree about the impact of the chat system. We’ve got a number of ideas to try for future classes. This is one of the
big areas I want to improve.
June 27th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
I absolutely LOVE the classes I am currently taking via the web with CreativeTechs. Jason Hoppe is by far the BEST InDesign teacher and I am able to use the techniques and shortcuts he shares immediately after each session.
I am so impressed with the way CreativeTechs presents these classes – live in studio audience + webinar with truly global reach + TweetChat through Twitter for participant interaction. In fact, I am proposing this model to our education department to see if we can use some of the technology to present our industry-specific classes to our membership.
I am so looking forward to an indepth PhotoShop class! Buying the downloads from any of CreativeTechs’ web series is such a bargain as it presents a wealth of practical information at a very affordable price.
Thank you Craig, Jason, and the rest of the crew!!!
June 27th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
I think it’s a beyond fabulous idea … I have learned so much from the CT webinars I have done so far.
June 27th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
I think the graphic world would benefit greatly from a in depth Photoshop course. I have learned so much so far.
June 27th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
I’ve really enjoyed the webinars so far. The interactive nature makes the learning experience more effective since it’s possible to get responses to specific issues. The only issue I’ve had is that the 10 week format results in a somewhat superficial overview of the programs. I think the longer more in depth course would be much more beneficial to more experienced users in particular.
June 27th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
I took the first Photoshop class and learned so much! I’m definitely in for a second class!!
June 27th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
I’ve taken (and bought the recordings of) the Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator courses and can’t wait for the Flash. I’ve owned all those programs, but never managed to really learn how to use them. The CreativeTechs training is just what I needed. The format makes them easy to follow and being able to ask questions through the GotoMeeting chat function makes me feel like I’m getting personalized training. So much info has been offered, I need to review the courses through the podcasts. I’m glad they are moving to a format where there are exercise files to practice on, because it makes enormous difference to be able to learn kinethetically.
A six-month course is a big commitment of time for everyone, but I’m confident that it would give me great skill and help me grow my freelance business.
Even though there are nearly a thousand people on the classes, it never feels like there is a crowd. I appreciate all the questions that other learners have to offer.
When I’ve told people about the courses, they’ve been very grateful and have joined in the audience. A friend today told me she was taking InDesign from a community college here in Austin and I’m so glad that I don’t have to 1) pay for the class, 2) travel to the campus and 3) have to produce homework to get a grade. This style of learning suits me perfectly.
I really enjoy attending the Retouch Tuesday sessions too. They are a bit beyond my level of understanding, but the more I watch, the better I understand the concepts and as I review the 10-week Photoshop class, I feel better prepared to do what Jason demonstrates on Retouch Tuesday.
A six-month Photoshop class would be great. I hope it happens. I feel like I’ve found the Adobe guru I prayed for. Thanks guys!
June 27th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
I would be so interested in this! I have attended a few of the webinars and love the work you guys do! It is so handy and useful to sit at my computer and listen and watch as I learn! I have learned so much from the two of you! I really hope this happens!
June 27th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
I am very interested in this! I really hope that this happens for you!
June 27th, 2009 at 7:15 pm
Would this six month photoshop course start from the beginning, or move ahead and build upon the 10 week course from the outset?
The CT format is methodical and interactive. I enjoy the clean presentation format, and appreciate the instructors’ expertise. I stumbled upon the site when googling for cs4 courses, extremely happy to have found you guys.
The only this I might do to improve the download section is allow for a full download of the course through a compressed file rather than piecemeal 250MB downloads. It takes a while to download and rename each file individually.
Great job guys, I think you’ll be very successful with this project.
June 27th, 2009 at 7:32 pm
The “CreativeTechs” experience is a convenient way to watch/hear a demo as well as follow along (on my own version of the Adobe tools) from my own office. I appreciate that the lecturer does a live demo and explains what s/he’s doing and stays on track. Oftentimes live classes get derailed by too many questions, but in this case the questions are grouped up and addressed at the end. Since I can watch from the privacy and quiet of my own office, there’s no distractions and I feel like I’m getting my own private lesson.
This class is better than a pre-recorded class, because (a) since it’s offered at a specific time, I have to actually make the time in my schedule to attend at that time, thus guaranteeing I’ll do the class, and (b) since it’s “web-live,” questions can be asked (via type-in online) which help to clarify issues if many people are confused by the same things. Also, via Twitter, the whole online community can see questions coming in and help each other. I’ve exchanged emails and DMs with other class attendees to clarify features in the hours after class is over.
Six months of photoshop sounds extensive – and fitting, since the tool has so many features. Even if I may never use all the features, it would be great to be able to spend that much time digging down into all of them and getting a feel for all the power of photoshop.
June 27th, 2009 at 8:57 pm
6-months of Photoshop? Let me jump in with some examples about how I envision organizing those classes. Rather than just rerunning our last 10-Week Photoshop Course, Jason and I sat down and mapped out a series of shorter 5-Week courses that each focused on different areas of Photoshop:
5-Weeks on Photoshop Fundamentals (Basics, Layers, Selections, Masks, and the Pen Tool)
5-Weeks on Retouching Fundamentals (Color Correction, Advanced Selections, Cloning Techniques, and Camera RAW)
5-Weeks on Advanced Retouching (Individual Classes for Retouching: Skin, Hair, Objects, Scenic, and Digital Anomalies)
5-Weeks on Graphic Effects (Custom Brushes, Layer Effects, Color Blending Modes, Shape Layers, and Special Effects)
5-Weeks on Advanced Topics (Automation, Smart Objects, Web Graphics, and other topics)
That’s 25 weeks of content, which maps out to about 6 month. But the Photoshop course only uses our classroom one day a week. Beyond that core series, I hope to integrate in a range of other courses that address different groups of Photoshop users. Some examples that will require attracting experts beyond Jason and myself:
Stock Photography Preparation: I’d like to develop an ongoing series on how to select and prepare images for stock photography submission. We’d like to partner with a stock agency to help educate inspired photographers on what sells as stock images, and how to those images need to be shot and prepared. The more real-world we can make this conversation, the better.
Retouch Tuesday: Of course Jason will continue taking your retouching challenges along the way. It would be interesting for Retouch Tuesday to connect with that ongoing discussion of stock photo preparation. Ideally, we’d have someone from a partner stock agency helping identify promising images, with Jason helping with the final retouching of chosen images.
Live, Online Lighting Course: This is my personal dream. I’m working to create a venue that will allow us to broadcast a live lighting seminar over the Internet complete with Q&A and audience interaction. There are a huge number of challenges to solve in order pull that off, but this is the big test of my vision for our little online worldwide classroom.
Digital Scrapbooking: We know we have a large number of scapbookers in our community. I imagine we’ll be pulling something together for them along the way.
Of course, we’ll also be throwing in software courses for Lightroom, Adobe Bridge, Color Management, Prepress, and other goodies.
In a nutshell that’s what we’re working on. A true, worldwide graphics schoolhouse. With live classes happening every day of the week for as many people as we can reach around the world. Whew! I feel invigorated just thinking about it!
That’s why I need all your comments and feedback! I need the validation to help entice experts out to Seattle in order to teach in our little worldwide classroom. And I need proof of the reach of our classroom in order to attract the support and sponsorship we’re going to need to keep this live class experience free.
I’m going to be talking to people who have never experienced what we’re building at CreativeTechs. Help me use your stories and experiences to make this real for them.
June 27th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
Your courses are such a fantastic resource, and it will be awesome if you are able to put on this 6mo Photoshop course. Practically everything I know about PS is self taught, and I know there are tons of other people out there like me who would really benefit from this. I’ve already learned a few things from you guys about PS, and each time it’s one of those “how did I go all these years without this???” kind of things. I can’t wait to learn what else you have to teach us!!
June 27th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
I would be totally interested in this. I had attended the PS course and then bought it too. I have learnt so much from you guys. I really hope this happens!
June 28th, 2009 at 12:46 am
um, heck yes. this would be awesome. the free format, visual lecture is great. do it. do it.
June 28th, 2009 at 3:04 am
The thing with using Photoshop (and the rest of the creative suite) is that it is a very intense program to use. With the constant updates and new versions you need to keep on top of it because once you stop, it swallows you whole. I’ve been using it since version 4 and I constantly need to feed my brain with the new additions and increase workflow time.
You need regular training no matter what level you are at and if you don’t have the time and effort to read all those books out there, then this is the perfect solution. Not only do you get live interaction with humans, you get world wide input to questions/problems, up-to-date information, tips and tricks all which is invaluable and something that a book can’t offer. I’ve looked at many courses and they have their place in the industry, but many around where I live are intense 1-2 day courses. I want something that will grow with me and the design industry I live in.
Since I’m now doing some charity photography work, I want to offer the best I can on tight budgets. Since the very first PS course I can be confident that everyone at Creative Techs will provide me with the brain food I need (if only they could post me some donuts too, my stomach is now feeling a bit empty).
It’s an amazing course format! x
June 28th, 2009 at 4:25 am
i think you are “the pioneers of the learning revolution”!
culture should be free and professional, and we have got them both in creativetechs!
i love you guys!
June 28th, 2009 at 5:33 am
Greetings from NY. Yes! I would love to take this class. I am a self taught PS user doing Digital Scrapooking. I am currently taking the Illustrator course. I would love to further my PS knowledge through a CT class.
June 28th, 2009 at 5:56 am
I love these classes, I live in a small town where it is hard to find any good training for Adobe products. I have learned so much about Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator the last few months, you guys rock!
June 28th, 2009 at 6:39 am
You guys are wonderful teachers. I have taken the Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator classes, as well as purchased the downloads. I would be so delighted to take another class with you guys!! And yes, I’m signed up for flash!!!
June 28th, 2009 at 9:45 am
This is my second post on this thread. I’d like to add a request that a new Photoshop course include a focus on graphics for the Web– creating a page layout in Photoshop and slicing and optimizing it and converting it to XHTML and CSS (using Dreamweaver and/or Flash), creating image rollovers, online photogalleries, and anything else web-related that I’m omitting).
I’d also love advice / best practices regarding file naming and organizing photos for archiving and storage and retreival, so as to avoid unnecessary duplication. Lastly, something about taking photos from a digital camera (which are huge) and making them a size appropriate for sending as email attachments.
Thanks for asking for our suggetions!
June 28th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
I’m a design manager at a printing company. I’d venture to say that a majority of todays desktop publishing people are generally self-taught (myself included). Any classes I have taken have usually been to get people up to speed on a given software and then release them to learn the rest on their own. Unfortunately I feel this has left some egregious gaps in skill and knowledge sets.
I stumbled across CT’s webinars while fleshing out my twitter feeds. What I used to use RSS for I have pretty much converted over to twitter. I decided to try a webinar and was pleasantly surprised to find thoughtful, sometimes generally remedial but truly helpful instruction. I honestly shall try to add them to my weekly schedule when available as well as encourage others to partake.
If I weren’t in the midwest I’d be more than happy to lend my services as payback!
June 28th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
I’m on the east coast… 2pm is right in the middle of my work day, consequently I miss a number of classes. I love the time frame of the retouch classes (6pm eastern). If the classes started at 4,5 or 6 eastern time that would really be great.
Free is different! Restriction to a specific time is often inconvenient and not being able to “rewind” the video when we miss a tip is kind of a drag.
You would know better than us whether there’s a large audience or if the global format is working.
Thanks for what you’re doing,
Gary
June 28th, 2009 at 6:41 pm
I’d be very interested in these classes – loved the Illustrator class I attended this last week! Awesome – thanks for doing these!
June 28th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
I am very interested. Thanks for the classes.
June 28th, 2009 at 7:58 pm
Craig,
As has been said previously, the combination of you and Jason allows you to interact with and respond to class participants. This very much helps to facilitate the class. Your experience and expertise are quite apparent. These things make Creative Techs classes very good. What I think really sets your classes apart is your willingness and confidence to give them away for free trusting that people will pay for what they find valuable. Your courses embody many of Kevin Kelly’s “generative values” from his Better Than Free paper.
I cannot remember a session of the Photoshop course that did not fill up. Given the value of your courses and the number of users for CS applications, I cannot imagine that there is not a huge audience for such offerings.
I think the format works quite well. I think the use of Twitter needs to be tweaked a bit. The signal to noise ratio definitely reduced the value of interacting through Twitter.
When I participated in the Photoshop class, I was fully expecting to just watch the classes live. By the end of the course, however, I found myself purchasing the entire class without reservation. I think you are on to something here and hope to see these and more classes in the future.

Thanks Jim! I’m a huge fan of Kevin Kelly’s Better Than Free, although I haven’t taken the time read it again for a while. Glancing through the list of “generative values” it feels good to see ourselves associated with some of those.
And yes, I completely agree that our online chat is one of the areas that needs the most improvement over the coming months. We’ve got a number of ideas to try when we have the Internet bandwidth to play with.
And thanks for supporting us with the purchase of the class downloads! The generosity and wilingness to pay for this material by people who’ve attended has been one of the biggest reasons we’ve been able to continue with this freely available approach.

1) I’ve been taking your InDesign class with a co-worker. We’re two different skill levels (I’m an experience graphic designer…she’s learning InDesign from scratch to learn a new skill). The class has been wonderful for both of us with both of us learning new things with every class. I also enjoy it’s “classroom” like feel of the main lesson which is made interactive through the twitter chat and the Q&A afterwards. The downloads also make it great to go back and review and have a reference for later. It’s been a very worthwhile experience.
2) Our business is in Tucson, Arizona.
3) The format is perfect. I can sign in from my office or from home and also multi-task as needed. It’s economical too as I don’t have to go to a class off-site and be away from the office.
June 28th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
You know Jolene, I’ve heard from a number of people about small groups of two or three people watching these classes together. I imagine having two of you learning at the same time really works. If your co-worker misses something you’re able to help fill in the gaps. And I know for myself that watching someone else learn a program I already know helps ME learn it in a way I wouldn’t have otherwise (Heck, I thought I was an “expert” and I’ve been picking up a ton of new stuff being the proxy for everyone’s questions on the Internet).
I wonder if there might be a way to setup micro-chat rooms that allow smaller groups of people to work together during class.
I know of one mother-daughter pair who emailed me that they live in different parts of the world, and they get on the phone together during each class to talk and learn together at the same time.
I’ve been thinking along the lines of larger moderated chatrooms with “Twitter TA” assistants. But what if we could somehow facilitate people in making connections and splitting off into smaller, personal learning groups? That might work even better.
Hmmmm…. Interesting. Anyone have an idea how we might pull this off?

Hi,
It’s great that you have offering free online courses.
I’ve already register but sorry to say that I’m not able to watch live because of the time. I’m from India and 11 am in us is 11.30 pm in India.
Is their any other way where can I download or watch the same class at our local time.
Kindly help

Following the 1st Photoshop 10 week course and subsequently doing Illustrator I can thoroughly recommend these classes to anyone from beginner onwards – I’ve used photoshop but hadn’t even opened Illustrator before and now I feel confident using it and know I have an amazing team teaching me all there is to learn about the package in the comfort of my own home. I live in the UK, have friends in the UK, USA and Canada and we all tune in ‘on-line’ each week to learn together – one day I will understand Twitter and do that too !
Please, please go ahead with this course – especially the Digital Scrapbooking side as I would love to have more experience of this as this is my main use of Photoshop.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:03 am
It works! It’s free! I want the course! I can buy the course if I need too….which I did. Greatest idea I’ve ever come across. It’s LIVE, not canned. One can ask questions.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:06 am
I’m in Germany, and found your PS course through a scrapbooking forum. I love the format, it feels as though we are really there taking the course in the room with you. I love the relaxed feeling, and even if we have a question, the Q&A sorts that all out.
I also bought the videos, to be able to go back and practise and practise, until it is second nature – count me in for the 6 month course!
Great format and idea, keep it up

Hello!
I live in Germany and I had problems to follow the course because of the local time. I’m very interessted in the 6-month-course.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:07 am
these classes have been for refreshing my design skills as well as learning new shortcuts that really help in my everyday designing. keep ‘em coming! i would definitely enjoy an advanced InDesign class, in my opinion, it’s the best design program Adobe has come up with
(oh and i join you from the good ole midwest, Columbus, OH)
June 29th, 2009 at 5:07 am
Hello from Austria, the Photoshop Course was superb, video & audio quality really worked well. Learned a lot from the training.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:07 am
An In-Depth Photoshop Class would be amazing! I took the first course you offered and picked up on some great tips & tricks.
1) Your class gives me the opportunity to learn more with this format. It is difficult to receive budget money for classes, let alone leave for an extended period of time during the work day. These classes allow me to do them at my desk and if something comes up with work…. I’m still available.
2) Minneapolis, MN
3) I think this format works!! Keep up the GREAT work!!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:08 am
I took the 10-week Photoshop course and have seen huge improvements in my technique, speed, and workflow. I can do things in my office that no one else knows how to do thanks to that class.
I would absolutely participate in a 6 month course and recommend others to do so too. The Adobe Creative Suite is such a powerful set of applications – I didn’t realize how little I knew about them until I started with Creative Techs classes. I can’t wait for the next one!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:08 am
The format works great! I have bought two of your courses and downloaded them to my iphone so I can watch them whenever I get time. I have taken every course you have offered and have never been disappointed.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:11 am
What makes CT courses different, well they are free (always a bonus) but with the added bonus of live interaction.
I’m based in Liverpool UK so the courses are at a good time for me (except the retouch one) as I’m back from work and can relax and enjoy the course and the banter. I have been a designer for 15 years and using photoshop at Uni before this even, and these course open my eyes to new ways and new ideas… thing I can see (and understand) happening live before me – more than I’d get in a book.
Being live and at a set time I’m more inclined to “tune in” rather than if I had the course on DVD, because as with most things it’s finding the time!
Worldwide works and also the general class works – people at all levels can get something from these courses
June 29th, 2009 at 5:12 am
I’ve taken the Photoshop course, 1 day Flash intro, and am in the Illustrator and InDesign classes now. The great thing about these classes is that they are taught by people who understand what we’d use the features for, and they work on real projects. The dialogue between the teacher and the moderator and the occasional question keeps the lessons on track. The Q&A at the end is also really useful. Locally, only beginner classes are available, and they are not geared for professionals. I’ve also worked my way through some of the website video training centers, and without the ability to ask questions, I didn’t find it as helpful as I’d like.
I live in Rhode Island, our start time is 2pm.
Keep the worldwide format! Not that it really matters where we’re from. But that’s the point.
Keep up the good work! I really enjoy these classes.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:12 am
I depend on the CT webinars to help me learn all the hidden nuggets in the use of the tools in Photoshop and now to be introduced to Illustrator. I intend to broaden my education in graphics with the other suites eventually. An artist ,new to the Mac and to photoshop and to the digital world , Ct has encouraged me to expand, even going on twitter to experience the creative community and get more tips. The live experience , with any of the “whoops” unedited, actually helps with the how to fix it process, which I expereince often in the self taught arena. Ct webinars are light hearted and easy to attend, free, with a great feeeling of community. Almost like you are in the building. I have expanded my use of the tools with many hidden gems discovered with Creativetechs, With the more loaded classes, I can download the class and refer forever on the process. I get an insight into the other programs also to see if they are appropriate for my use. Jason and Craig are great instructors.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:13 am
I really enjoyed all your PS4 sessions. I love the fact that I did not have to drive across town to attend. I learned a lot! I was so dissapointed that I missed the tenth class because of the confusion on the dates. I had rearranged my schedule to attend but then the change was undone and I could not change my schedule again.

These online courses are simply THE best way of getting ahead in graphic design. I’ve been using Photoshop professionaly for almost 10 years now, and still I’ve learned heaps with the 10-week Photoshop online course…so an in-depth course over a period of 6 months will be absolutely fabulous. One thing though : I live in Belgium and I require a good night’s sleep. Please take this into concideration when planning it?!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:14 am
The value of these classes is amazing for self-employed designers who work alone and have little opportunity to learn with others. I’ve learned a lot, keep coming back and learning more. Being able to ask direct questions during the webinars makes the experience personal, listening to the questions of others makes it broadening. And I can afford to download the videos. Have taken classes at other training places in the past, paid a lot of money, and once I left the room, I forgot half of what I learned. Creative Techs has developed something that I look forward to every week. Thank you so very much! You keep doing it, I’ll keep attending.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:16 am
Looking forward to the 6 month photoshop class and the wacom , print format classes to come. Thank you from Canada

Oops – Washington DC. Yes, worldwide format work well for me. Bacon and donuts know no borders.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:17 am
Having recently graduated from NC State University, I am loving to continue my skill set through creative techs. Graduating at a point with not much work available has just allowed for me to continue to become a great digital artist! I am living in Durham, North Carolina and on Thursdays at 3 pm I sign into (originally PS) InDesign, on Mondays I sign in at 3 pm to Illustrator, and when I can make it I go to the PS retouching on Tuesday nights at 6pm for me. I post to my facebook the greatness of creative techs often! A number of students have responded. The worldwide format seems to be working great. I love to see other post from countries and see their perspective, and I can see how valuable this training is to them considering they give up their nights to attend! My only problem is what if I do get a job? I may not be able to participate in the live classes anymore
June 29th, 2009 at 5:18 am
Oh! I am so excited!
I have been “attending” all of your webinars since the beginning and have learned so much. Please continue to teach in the same mode. It has worked so perfectly. You have created a unique forum and I see it becoming even more popular.
A big “THANK YOU” from Virginia.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:18 am
I really like the format, especially it’s informality rather than a strictly structured approach. Since I live on the Olympic Peninsula, which is the same time zone as Seattle, the times these are broadcast, suit me just fine. Overall, it works well, but I wonder if viewers, especially international, could send in questions before hand or, much more complicated, have a follow-up for the most interesting and/or popular questions?
Keep up the good work. Regards,
Jack Waddington
June 29th, 2009 at 5:18 am
The format is different because it is taught in normal terms with enthusiasm!!! I can tell you guys like your jobs! If you don’t like your job-you do a good job faking it:)
The format is great! I love that the class is not much longer than an hour-it easy to commit to an hour or two of anything! Your teaching style works for me-I am a self taught Adobe person and I know the basics. Sometimes you move quickly but I usually appreciate this…I know I can buy the video if I want to slow it down a bit. I have been telling every creative I know about your classes! It is easy to explain the format.
I live in Budapest Hungary….moved here from Seattle!!! I love feeling like I am back home when you are talking about things like when the Twinkie factory was on fire.
Keep the classes coming! Yeah for the photoshop!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:19 am
The illustrator course has been GREAT! I mostly work in photoshop though, so that would be invaluable.
I’m in Maine.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:20 am
It´s great and It´s free, if one has the Time to view the webinar each time live.
I prefer most to view ‘non linear’ the download-files. It´s great to have the complete downloads for $ 50! Here you can fast forward, if there´s a topic, that you already know. I´m in Germany, Stuttgart and find it useful, that the webinar is in English. So I can improve my knowledge in e.g. Photoshop and English!
It´s a relaxed teaching. Keep it up. I like it.

A couple of earlier posts captured the essence of the benefits to me:
*This live class provided the most illustrative examples and live demonstration of easy to follow material I’ve seen.* (5 stars)
Another post noted *There is interaction between the students, which helps to reinforce techniques as well as get answers to questions. There are two people talking…the instructor and the coordinator. For some reason, this is actually helps the learning process. I think that it adds a level of interactivity as the coordinator is able to interject real-time questions and comments that add value to the session.* (another 5 stars)
I look forward to using the downloaded files as reference materials and for practice.
Finally… your instructors not only talented, they come across as genuinely interested in helping participants learn. The guy who teaches the Illustrator class is so easy to listen to, and funny too. Please keep up the great work!!

CreativeTechs – First thank you for these courses. They are wonderful. I signed up for and purchased access to the InDesign course. I hoped it would improve my understanding of ID and in many ways it has. I haven’t learned anything yet that could be termed ‘earth shattering,’ however I have gained some knowledge of many small but useful techniques that had been opaque to me prior to Jason’s excellent presentations.
I am “from Seattle” which I how I know about Creative Techs, however, I now live on a small rural island (Martha’s Vineyard) off the south coast of Massachusetts near Cape Cod – so the time I tune in to clases is three hours advanced from Pacific time. The ID class takes place in the early afternoon for me. And…
Yes the “live” format really does work. I have typed in comments and Craig has transmittted them to Jason in real time.
Again: “Thank you!” And say “Hello” to all my friends & homeys in the Seattle area.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:21 am
This class is different because it is interactive, and up to the minute relevant. We are able to ask questions on the fly! We are “attending” every week, block out the time from our schedules, I have even down these from home when I’ve been out of the office.
We live in Washington, DC.
This is like having our own private class, yet we’re getting the advantage of hearing questions (and answers from Jason and you) from other participants, questions that we may not have thought to ask. The technical experience is good, but I know that you would easily gather twice the number of participants if you had more space!

Hi there. I tried to follow the 10-week course that was given a couple of months ago, but my work hours here in Spain were the same as the classes. Still, I could watch two of them, which I liked very much.
The answers:
1 – CreativeTechs classes are online, are live, and they have participation from the public, interacting and helping better the class more and more. What I mean is: in an online-recorded class, the teacher doesn’t have any feedback, and the student can’t solve his doubts at the moment. Here this does not happen, and even better, questions from students don’t interrupt the class! Actually this doesn’t happen in a local class. Apart from the knowledge and experience of the instructor here, which helps a lot make the attendants enjoy the class.
2 – I’m a Brazilian guy living in Spain for some time now. This city is called La Coruña (pron.: korunya), 600 km northwest of the capital Madrid, right above Portugal.
3 – I believe the live format works perfectly. Of course people should make a little room in their schedules for an hour-and-a-half class, but I think it fits with most of the countries in the world. Maybe in Eastern Asia this would be late at night, I’m not sure. I only had problems here in Spain because at 7pm (GMT+1) I was still working, but I really believe the format works. Maybe if it were 2 hours earlier, although we always need to consider that… these are classes to the whole world!!!
Thanks for the opportunity to answer these questions, and I hope you’ll be able to keep your great work, different from everything I’ve ever seen, and with such a great quality. Have a good week!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:22 am
1. As a newcomer I’ve subscribed to the Illustrator courses, but a busy schedule has prevented me from attending the first installments. However, as soon as the videos are posted online (which is to say in a snap), I find the first available slot to watch them in my spare time. The thing is, it’s very well done and the instructor does a fantastic job at explaining things. Not only will I attend the Photoshop courses, I’ll also pay to gain access to the material as soon as a “buy” link is available.
2. Luxembourg, Europe
3. Currently it’s all very good, I have nothing special to mention, just keep on rocking!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:22 am
What does make CT different? Are you kidding me?
You’re guys REALLY understand what you talking (and showing) about … meantime the ‘others’ just repeat from books of others … you can tell it! It’s so frustrating pay twice for the same “tip”! At least on the same way …
Living in NYC I have access “in first hand” to several others seminars but, instead to be local an fancy-shmancy, you guys make something real good for all (planet)! AND FOR FREE!!!!
If is it working? Kidding again hun?
Be serious … you guys need to be cuddled, so here it is:
If you participated at least once it became an addiction in a very and true way … I need to be in front of my PC at 2PM every MON and TUE (and n ow extending it more days …).
It’s better than a final season chapter of DAYS OF OUR LIVES!!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:23 am
I work for a daily newspaper in NH and tune into CreativeTech Webinars at 2 p.m. The classes have been a goldmine of tips and short cuts. Parts of Photoshop I’ve stayed away from (read: Pen Tool), I am now more confident in using. And now I’m learning more about InDesign and Illustrator and becoming so competent at my job I would probably get a raise if we didn’t have a wage freeze. I now schedule my week around the course time slots. Craig and Jason do a great job putting together each day’s lesson, answering listener questions, and using humor to keep it all farm fresh.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:25 am
The courses are good because of the huge range of people and abilities.
I’m in Norwich, England UK
The format works really well, you can see and hear people asking questions and having them answered in real time – and indeed ask your own. With so many people around the world all sorts of things come up.
For me the only drawback is not always being able to make the same time each week
June 29th, 2009 at 5:25 am

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I like the good quality, fast pace, and try-before-buy.
For example, with Jason Hoppe, *you* knew you had a good trainer and course, but I didn’t. And like many skeptics, I would have passed on the course as just another ‘maybe-bad’ course. But how could I pass up a free 60-minutes? And because of that ‘hook,’ I discovered that the training was fantastic, got my knowledge and skills to a “new useful place” each session, and not just another one of those “here’s what each button does” type of training.
I therefore did a 180° and purchased the series, and since – have attended and purchased other course series as well.
Bottom line – (1) you have a good product, and (2) you took the risk out of us checking it out.
—————————————————-
2. Where do you live?
I join from Houston TX at 1:00pm.
—————————————————-
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes with a capital “Y.” The Q&A session is every bit as important to me as the original session. And the Twitter stream is helpful during the session as well.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:26 am
Hi There,
I’ve been following your webinars and I think there are absolutely amazing, useful and they work! I’ve learned sth new every single time I’ve logged on. I’m a freelance graphic designer based all the way in Australia. The only thing what kills me is that I have to get up at 4am to be part of the live experience, so guys keep up the good work and YES YES YES, please do a Photoshop course! Maybe you can shift your starting time to 12:00 Seattle time (5am my time)
June 29th, 2009 at 5:26 am
I totally loved the photoshop course, it is extremely useful and the content was brilliant, can’t wait for the next one. I find the online courses from CreativeTechs to be brilliant, really professional and it is great to get this type of information free. I am from Belgium and the downloads afterwards is a real added bonus so that I can revise on the evenings classes.
thanks a mil guys
June 29th, 2009 at 5:26 am
Your ideas sound wonderful. Like another poster mentioned, I live on the east coast so the 2 pm time doesn’t really work for me. I have caught one of the retouch videos and loved it. So I’m hoping to jump in on your other classes sometime. One other time I tried I couldn’t get on because it was full. That’s a good sign for you guys, I guess.
Good Luck!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:26 am
Yes to more Photoshop! I like moving right along during computer classes, which you do, then the reasonable amount you charge for the downloads & hand outs, I am able to continue to improve my skills after reviewing the class again. This is a very powerful program.
I am in Chicago.
The live format is great, I have typed in comments and got instant responses, plus I like hearing other peoples questions, sometimes that helps clarify a particular problem. I really like working smarter these days, not harder, and thanks to Creative Techs, I am!! Thanks guys.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:27 am
I absolutely love the CS4 10-week webinar! There are up to 1,000 people online during each class (plus a live classroom of people), and still I can almost always get my question answered orally by Jason or get a written response from Craig.
Living in Massachusetts, I thought I’d feel removed from the class – sort of like I was simply viewing it, but that is not the case at all. Everyone seems to feel connected. Really adding to this is the fact that Jason and Craig are smart, funny, and organized and the lessons are well prepared.
The information covered is comprehensive and easy to understand, with Jason repeating something if need be.
Thanks for these classes – they are great.

Hi Craig, I am currently taking your InDesign CS4 online course. It has been wonderful even for a 74 year-old like me. It is really a different method of learning for me, because when I was in college there was no such thing as online courses. We’ve come a long way. I would really love to take the Photoshop class, but my program is an older one–CS. Will that work okay or do I need a newer edition to be successful in the class?
By the way, I live in Rome, Georgia. It’s hot here.:)
June 29th, 2009 at 5:28 am
Can’t say enough about the webinars. I’ve taken live PS classes in the past (in MN) but none compare to what I’ve learned in Jason’s classes. The option to purchase the materials is fantastic as well.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:28 am
I live in Virginia and am planing to move to North Carolina in July. I took the 10 week Photoshop course and loved it. I learned so much in a few weeks. The thing I liked most was the very relaxed atmosphere during the presentations. Every think does not always work right but nobody gets upset. They just make it work. I look forward to more online courses. Keep up the good work.

Our entire art department shuts down each week in order to participate in the online seminars. We came in to the photoshop class about halfway through, so we purchased the downloads. Since that time, we signed up for and purchased the downloads to the InDesign class and signed up for and intend to purchase the downloads for the Illustrator class.
These courses have been a fount of knowledge – they are presented in a logical, fun manner; they are replete with information that we could find on our own but never seem to have time to ferret out; they are at a time of day that we can easily close the doors and shut out the world. And the downloads make it easy for us to go back and view that technique again, in case we forgot the steps between the time we viewed it and the time we needed it.
Our production time is better spent with the techniques offered, and our design work has DEFINITELY benefited. These courses are better than anything I have taken elsewhere, including big conferences and local colleges, because we can watch the steps taking place on our screen, ask questions if we don’t understand, benefit from the questions asked by others, and refer back to the downloads when needed.
We are in Chattanooga, TN. There are four people in this department.
The online format works beautifully for us. We just shut the doors, turn up the volume on our computers, turn the ringers off on our phones, and enjoy the next two hours of learning!
PLEASE continue! We would LOVE an extensive Photoshop class.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:29 am
I have taken part in the InDesign and Illustrator Courses (as per recommendation of my dad, who did the Photoshop one). I join them from Massachusetts, and so I sign in at 2 PM. The classes are unique because they really cover a ton of ground without being dry or slow. I have been using both programs for years now, but am constantly learning new things from the guys over at Creative Techs. The worldwide format allows for a wide array of participants and questions and tips. I just LOVE these classes! Keep ‘em coming and a BIG thank you!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:31 am
1. Amply answered by others and let me add that I think they are all valid
2. UK
3. For me it has with reservations for the InDesign course. Timing is a bit of a problem as it hits my children’s bedtime and I can’t always make the live seminar / Q&A. Alternatively I’ve just started a night shift and there is no way I can access it. Of the 7 (??) weeks run so far I’ve managed to make 2 live sessions but not fo rthe Q&A.
An option would be to allow me to access it at a time of my choosing but without additional cost so long as I’ve signed up. Allow the Q&A and the high quality d/ls to be only available to those that have paid.
I definitely like the twitter option.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:32 am
I feel like I have happened upon a goldmine – your classes. They are tremendous. I have been trying to commit to switching from Quark Xpress to InDesign. I taught myself enough to get started, but these 14 classes have helped to give me the confidence I need to do my work in the professional manner I need to. I would value any class you offered that I could manage to attend. I love the way the 2 of you interact. Not only does it add to the content, but it also makes it enjoyable to learn. I always have a smile on my face while listening (you guys are very funny.)
I thought I would only go with the free classes, but when I had to miss 2 of them for work obligations, I conceded to buy the downloads. Now that I did, I would do it everytime. It is really helpful to view the videos, since you can pause to try thing out, and also to rewind if you get distracted.
I am an inhouse designer in Connecticut.
A 6 month class in Photoshop would be great!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:35 am
The classes are very much hands on and in depth—from the ground up. I’ve saved so much time and $ by not needing to travel to and from a class. Often, a local class will be 2+ hours and much more in cost. You need to block out 1/2 or entire day to attend.
The primarily benefit is that the classes are live and interactive. Twitter chatroom is running concurrent with the live webinar, but it isn’t disruptive. Jason and Craig read and address questions from the audience/class! Seeing the use of the application live and common questions that arise is very different from one way type tutorials and just reading. It really feels more like a classroom.
I did buy both sets of videos (podcasts are also included) for Photoshop and InDesign. This is positive reinforcement for what you learn because you can review and go over it in case it moved too fast or you need to do it yourself to cement the technique. PDF handouts are also included.
I’m East Coast and the 2PM EST time is good. I’ve sat in on the PShop and InDesign series. If I miss a class (deadlines sometimes interfere), I just download and run the videos. Q&A sessions after each class are included with the downloads. I hope all of these continue. You’ll learn much faster than reading books.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:35 am
The live classes have been great. Even with the occasional audio glitches, you deliver great information in a friendly, informal setting. I actually feel like I am in a classroom and have the moral support of the world behind me.
More importantly, I hope you can continue to offer the downloads at such a reasonable price… lately, there have been too many times I must miss the live presentation and to have the classes in a file is invaluable.
Keep it up!

The courses have been fabulous! Just one tip can save hours of time. And the instructor has a deep knowledge and delightful personality. It’s a real gift to the creative community. Thanks so much!

These sessions cover the spectrum from the basics to some of the most intricate aspects of programs. Even though some of us use the software every day, it’s amazing how many times you walk away from a class with something you never knew about and more importantly, something that you can implement into your every day work flow.
Logging into the webinar from Greensboro, NC, I feel connected right from the very beginning and have become familiar with the teaching style (and sometimes corny jokes!). The interactive aspect of it is what really holds the most appeal for me, because it’s not just like your watching a ‘how-to’ video. It’s a chance to see how to do something, why it might work for you and make an effective use of your time, with the added benefit of being able to ask specific questions.
Overall, anyone who attends these webinars should consider themselves extremely fortunate to have access to something this awesome! It always leaves me enlightened and empowered.
THANKS SO MUCH!

I have enjoyed all the free classes so far. They’re great!
I am just outside of Chicago and since I am the only designer for the company, I do not get out very often. When I found out about the free webinars for CS4 I was overly excited. Not only could I get some great tips, it was free. We like free. I have signed up for all the webinars and look forward to more.
Thanks – keep them coming.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:39 am
Wow! I just have to say thank you to everyone for such an outpouring of support so far! There have been over 60 comments added in the last 30 minutes! Keep them coming. These are going to help us attract the support we need to expand these classes.

The great thing about your classes is that they are taught for professionals, meaning that you explain why we need to learn the different tools. The example projects are taken from reality, too. I don’t have this available to me here in Rhode Island, where the only classes are for university beginners, and this is a really important difference. I’ve also done a monthly subscription to one of the online video class sites, and realize that the live interaction in your classes is a good improvement, keeping the lesson on track and backing it up if there is general confusion about a point. I also like the Q&A session.
Here in RI, training time is 2pm.
As for worldwide, why not? It’s actually nice to know that everyone thinks the same way. I find the silly comments in the Tweets to be annoying, but other than that, it’s great.
Keep up the good work! I’ve attended the Photoshop class, the Flash 1-day intro, and am now in the Illustrator and InDesign classes (although that’s a lot to fit into a week). I’ve also bought all of the downloads because the classes are that good. Thanks for doing this.

I work in marketing/administration in Baltimore and I am trying to learn the Adobe Creative Suite on my own. I had a little exposure in college and since then taken a variety of beginner courses in Adobe at local community colleges and tutorials online. I’ve really enjoyed all of CreativeTech’s webinars, as they do a good refresh of the basics (and I always learn something new) and then move on to more advanced techniques. I always learn a useful tip or 2 as I try to follow along while I’m working. I usually buy the series so I can watch the videos when I find free time. I like the real time Q&A, and hearing the answers from certified experts. Quite a few things I’ve learned from CT has helped in my work already. I like that this is a combination of a live class and a video tutorial. My previous live classes have disappointed me (when the first 30 min is spent on a student who doesn’t know how to turn on a computer), and sometimes it’s hard to find the time to sit through dry video tutorials at home. This combines the best of both worlds and CT makes it fun. I also like having the option to buy if I want to review something again. Thank you very much for these great webinars!

i’ve taken courses in PS,FL,DW, before at my city college and over 20 private lessons in PS and ID but the online courses with Jason are far better. Jason is an excellent teacher, very clear, very organized and far more professional than any other teacher I ever had . I took the PS course, now I’m taking Illustrator , soon will start FL and can’t wait for DW to begin.
I would like to suggest one thing though- I think it would be very helpful if you would assign homework after each lesson. sometimes when I practice after a class I find that I’m not completely focused and I start wandering off to different things. If I had a specific assignment to complete I would probably do much better.
I live in Israel and join class at 9PM our time.
You guys do a great job. the PDFs are invaluable and the recordings are well worth the price. Thanks!!

I live in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Canada and access your webinars on satellite internet.
These programs you’re teaching are so complicated you NEED someone to show you all the intricacies.. there’s no way you could figure it out on your own.. and even if you tried, self learning a program as complex as the Adobe Suite would be a long, tedious process. Who has that kind of patience or time?!!
.. and no one teaches it better than you guys! You start with the basics, in a simple uncomplicated manner, and slowly work your way through. The live format enables audience questions, which blows all other teaching formats out of the water! It’s during the Q&A that all the relevant questions and information come up that we actually use in our businesses! PLus the live format makes the classes INTERESTING! This material can get pretty dry, but I think it’s the live format that keeps it relevant and fun. Learning these huge programs can be intimidating. But when you’re joining a thousand people from around the world, and listening to comments from everyone, it creates a supportive environment conducive to learning.
Does it work? Let me put it this way: If I was the publisher at the newspaper I work for, I would make ALL your courses mandatory for all my graphic designers. Period. Even if you think you know a program, you can bet you’ll learn something by watching your webinars.
The best way to use your courses is to watch them live in case you have a question, then buy the course. You can pause the video while you try out the technique and practice it.. then go back to the video for the next tip.. pause.. and practice.
YOU GUYS ROCK!! I can’t thank you enough for spreading your knowledge into the world and helping us all learn complex programs easily and effortlessly. Great teaching! And for you guys.. a world of success. You deserve it!

I am an independent designer in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
It is difficult to get to courses offered in Chicago or Milwaukee (for the extra travel time), but these courses are a great alternative! I would definitely look forward to a more advanced course as much of what is covered I already know, but I tune in for that little gem that is hidden among the ordinary! Efficiency is key!
Thank you for these wonderful webinars! You offer a great resource and the twitter option opens communication among designers too.
Keep up the great work!

With budget restraints, CT offers us the ability to speed up production without breaking the bank. Though there are large chunks of information we already know about these programs, we listen intently, as Jason often does things a different way than we might have learned, or used a shortcut we never knew existed, thus improving productivity. I highly recommend the classes, if only for the ‘free-factor’. I have already purchased the InDesign and Illustrator classes because they are invaluable resources. Our entire graphics team is based in Americus, GA.
As for format, I think the webinar works well. For those that want to project it in a room, it allows you to eat popcorn at the same time…so that’s a win in my book. I appreciate what your team does for the design community and I certainly have/will continue to recommend you to my peers around my network.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:44 am
I like the Creative Techs approach because it is interactive. When you have a question that isn’t covered, you can ask – and get the help you need – unlike other services, such as Lynda.com
I live in Texas, central time zone – so I like to join class at 1pm
I think the worldwide format works great! It brings us all together to learn something very useful to each of us. Some of us, it pertains to our full time jobs, some of us for part time or freelance, some could even want to learn because they want to change careers totally. But it’s completely useful to every single audience member. I also like being able to keep up with people in the tweetchat room – and if you miss something (like a keyboard shortcut), just ask the group there, and someone will alway answer. There’s no other class format like it!
Thanks for all that you do Jason & Craig!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:46 am
Hi from NY. I have taken several of the Creative Tech online courses and find them exceptional. Very clear and concise lessons with the perfect amount of humor built in. I find other training courses not as engaging and retention was an issue do to poor explanation. I would lose interest quickly. Not so with Creative Tech. The live format works well–rich wide-screen content with good audio and my questions actually get answered! Craig and Jason make a great team, too.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:46 am
Jason, I’m following the online Illustrator course right now, and I’m loving it. I do this from the Netherlands, and am spreading the word
By the time the course starts over here in the Netherlands is 8 o’clock in de evening, so best served after dinner, also very appealing.
The best thing about the course is, that it combines all the best in interaction, tutorial and class-based learning. Plus you can download/buy it for a incredible low price afterwards!
Count me in for a new PS CS4 course..
June 29th, 2009 at 5:50 am
I’ve been attending the webinars for Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and find them quite good. Each class has something to offer, either something new or a faster way of working. The format is easy to follow though I do absolutely love the PDFs that come with (and wish Illustrator would have more). An hour is about all I can use as I’m busy at work and do get interrupted. I watch at 2pm EST from Rhode Island and have bought each class so hopefully will have time in the evening to go over the q&a sessions.
Thanks for hosting!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:53 am
I feel that you are working really hard on presenting the webinars. Much good information can be found. My primary interest is photography. For that reason,I am not too interested in photoshop that is not usefull in photography. However, for those who are interested in those things, your programs offer much. I took that basic photoshop course and it was my first webinar experience. The webinar is a good way to present material to many people and offers instant feedback.

1. Creative Techs’ format of live classroom instruction DOES feel so much more interactive than other webinars I’ve attended. And all the tips and other post-webinar correspondence are a great bonus, too. And working for a university with slim funds for professional development, these free classes are a godsend!
2. I live in Columbus, OH, joining in at 2 pm for the InDesign and Illustrator courses each week. I also took the great Photoshop 10-week course and had a great one-on-one Retouch Tuesday session with Jason.
3. LOVE the format. Jason, Craig, and Steve have answered several of my questions during the Q&A portions of the class, so I feel very connected, despite the many many miles between us! I also like the fact that I can multi-task in case a super urgent email or phone call comes in and still keep one eye to the webinar. Creative Techs totally rocks. I am officially a CT groupie.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:54 am
I tell my artistic friends and my work colleagues about the CreativeTechs workshops and they are always quite impressed with the quality of work that goes into each workshop and how the next builds from the previous workshop. I appreciate the format where I can login and listen and watch while Jason does his demonstrations live. I also like the user interface and how some users can type in a quick question during the workshop and we can see Jason answer and respond right then
I live in southeast Texas and I’m very easily able to log in and become part of the workshop, not just a non-participatory observer. I usually log in right after lunch at 1 PM central standard time and follow along while taking notes and watching the workshop. I like the format most because if I want I can have Photoshop open at the same time and do the demonstrations along with Jason. I also have the option later of purchasing the DVDs and if I miss something I know I can have the entire workshop available to me in the same format with included extras.
I really enjoy the workshops and have passed them to my friends and colleagues and hope I can take advantage of these professionals so willing to share their expertise with the rest of us.

These webinars have been very, very useful–I have learned a lot! The presenters are experts with solutions to real, everyday problems. I like the format of the webinars, including the relaxed, casual air, and I enjoy the experience of learning with other design professionals all over the world. I live and work in St. Paul, Minnesota, and participate in the webinars from 1 until about 3 p.m. Thanks for these webinars! You are making a tremendous contribution toward professional development!
June 29th, 2009 at 5:56 am
Working independently I particularly enjoy feeling part of a worldwide community every week.
The time and expense for someone like myself to learn a new program and to stay current can be daunting. Having the ability to purchase the webinars very inexpensively ensures I won’t miss the training if a deadline takes precedence on that day. This format works with my schedule, and I can’t always take time off to travel.
I’ve told every designer I know about your webinars, and many have signed up.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:58 am
The webinars allow me to learn more about the software we already have, without the hassle of trying to get time approved out of the office or personally pay for training. And my co-worker and I pull our earbuds out every few minutes to say to one another “That’s a good idea – we can use that when we create…” (without disrupting the entire class).
I live and work in Indianapolis, so the training schedule fits into my afternoon.
The class format feels like someone is sitting next to me demonstrating step-by-step on my computer. The desktop e-sticky notes that I started using to catch great tips from the webinars are now taking up most of my desktop, if that tells you how many new ideas I’ve picked up.

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different? (How does our class format compare to local classes, training videos, or other online webinars?)
I did a Photoshop class, a Dreamweaver class, and an Illustrator class at a local adult institute, with about 15 other students in the classroom, and although it was great to see what other people were producing, and going for drinks after class was fun, I find the webinar format works brilliantly for me, because I can focus and concentrate the demonstrations without disturbance from others, plus have the recordings to go back to as often as I wish.
I feel almost as if I have the instructor all to myself, while at the same time benefiting from the comments and question coming from other students, as well as having my own questions answered!
2. Where do you live? (We want to demonstrate the size of our audience with the comments on this post. Tell us where you live, and what time you join in for class.)
I live in Hampstead Heath, London, UK. The classes start here at 7pm, which is great for me as my brain comes alive later in the day than most other people’s!
The Photoshop Retouch class starts at 11pm, (no problem: Law and Order repeats after class!), although I have dozed off a couple of times, which was probably due more to a glass of wine or two, rather than the hour!
3. Does this live worldwide format really work? (This is the important part. What is this class experience like? Help describe this format to someone who’s never seen it.)
Although I haven’t signed up for Twitter yet, and I’m not sure I will because it may be too distracting for me, I love hearing where in the world people are tuning in from! Weird, but it feels like an actual “community”…. I feel great being in the company of other people who, for this moment at least, care about the same things as I do …. (Ever thought about a Photoshop Dating Webinar ….? Hmmm!)
Six months, though, is a LONG time in one fell swoop, and I personally feel that it may be better to split up this webcast into “terms”, like at school, so we can have little holidays …. to recover, and do some laundry!
Also, if it comes in bite-sized pieces, we can jump in wherever we need to, depending on how much we know so far — if you see what I mean.
OK! I just read your breakdown! I think you got it!
I am SUPER happy about what you’re doing here!
Love you all, lots and lots!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:01 am
The courses are engaging and informative, and the fact that they’re free makes them even better. I am taking InDesign and Illustrator, am signed up for Flash and hope to take Photoshop and especially Dreamweaver if it’s offered. The interactive aspect keeps things relevant. I’m in Texas–keep the courses coming!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:01 am
wow, where do i start? so far i’ve attended the photoshop, indesign, and illustrator courses. all have been excellent. i’m not sure i can articulate what makes them different or more effective than other webinars; but i assure you they are.
part of it is the instructor. jason is a master at covering what is essentially very complex material in terms everyone can understand. also craig’s facilitating. he does a phenomenal job making sure the audience–in house and online–is engaged and interacting. and finally, the audience itself. through the webinar interface and integration of tweetchat, attendees are able to augment the instruction by asking very circumstance-specific questions leading to solutions that may not otherwise be covered. but questions are only part of it, the various attendees also have a few tricks up their collective sleeve and everyone is more than willing to share.
succinctly put, the creative techs webinars are not just workshops, lectures or demonstrations; they are shared learning communities.
stats: i am a print/web designer, and web interface instructor at a technical college–and yes, i enthusiastically recommend the webinars to my students; i love digital imaging; and i tune in from richmond, virginia, usa at 2:00 pm. (actually closer to 1 pm, i want to make sure i get a seat.)
June 29th, 2009 at 6:02 am
The courses are right on point for me. I was away from the field or many years and purchased the Aobe Suite upon my return. I formerly used Quark along with PS and Illustrator. Creative Techs offers easy to digest lessons for what could be an overwhelming task— to learn all of CS4. I also have purchased the downloads so I can review at my own pace and since I often have to miss a webinar. Thank you, keep ‘em coming!!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:03 am
I’m a designer and photographer from Kansas and have really enjoyed the Photoshop and InDesign courses. I have been using these programs for years and still manage to learn some basic things that I never knew, since I am self-taught. I even purchased them – you really get your money’s worth! These guys work great together like a tag-team and are friendly and explain things very well. I’ve never had any issues with sound or video. I would definitely be interested in the 6-month Photoshop course.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:04 am
I have started learning Photoshop several times in the past. I have
bought a couple of video courses, several books and the results are the same. I keep going back to iphoto.
Your courses are so easy to follow and interactive as well. I can honestly say I am actually using the course.
Please keep it up,
I live in Santa Fe, NM. A little off the beaten track so delivery of materials like this on the web is a real godsend.
Please don’t stop.
Thanks,
June 29th, 2009 at 6:06 am
I live in the always beautiful downtown Jersey City located in NJ, 8 blocks across the river from NYC. I jump in about 1:30pm est.
While we are worldwide…there is that wonderful feeling that we are in the classroom in person with you. That personal feeling is so strong. Your enthusiasm about what is happening during the webinar is infectious. You really care about providing a super learning experience for not just us but yourselves. It is always nice that you call out the names of people you know and speak to them directly and of course Jason talking to his mother is quite nice.
Yea, the Free thing is not a bad point, but the $50 cost of the sessions is such a sensational marketing tool. It is so valuable and affordable and accessible…particularly in this job market when we are all needing to hone their skills and learn new skills.
You also appear to be so open to coming up with webinars on other applications.
All of that and you are providing instructors who are really good in conveying the information from not just how to use the application but can design and inform real world production information in a very effortless way.
Sort of splendid all around.
thanks and tootles from the east
June 29th, 2009 at 6:06 am
I’ve taken the Photoshop InDesign and Illustrator classes and can confirm that the CreativeTechs team really knows how to reach the target audience. The classes are held by professionals who have been there, done that, plus it feels spontaneous and lively, unlike some instructional videos. I purchased the Photoshop downloads even after attending the webinars because so much was covered that I couldn’t absorb it all at once.
I’m a freelance designer from PA and it’s been great to feel like I’m in the room with the other webinar attendees—both in Seattle and globally. Such a large audience brings new insight; the questions and comments are from many different perspectives, still they are all answered or demonstrated in a clear, concise way as to be easily understood by all experience levels.
Thanks for making these classes available. I’m looking forward to the extended Photoshop class.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:06 am
I am really interested in the Photoshop course!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:07 am
I found the photoshop classes through an email link on your CreativeTechs Quick Tips and I have been enrolled ever since. Because of the incredible amount of information delivered in each class and the fact that my work load varies daily, I went ahead and purchased the downloadable classes. I recently purchased the Illustrator and InDesign classes and plan on purchasing any future classes I attend. Having the ability to go back and review course sections at my leisure is great.
Approach:
I really like the approach. Jason’s knowledge is obvious, but not condescending. And his ability to break it down into digestible chunks is greatly appreciated. I have worked with these programs for over a decade and still feel the need to continue expanding my knowledge base. Even if for no other reason then to validate my approach to various situations. Comparing CT to Lynda is difficult, both are very good at delivering content. For me personally, I prefer CT because for the price of 2 months on Lynda.com, I can purchase the whole course, complete with downloads and support material, that I can view and review whenever I need to refresh. This holds true for local classes as well.
Location: Windsor, Colorado
Does the Format Work?
I can’t speak for the rest of the globe, but it does for me. The classes start here at 12 noon. Occasionally, client lunches interfere with my attendance, but that’s what makes the purchase option so great. Anymore I just purchase the whole class in the beginning. $50 is pretty cheap insurance against missing a sweet tip. I would have paid $50 alone just for the tip on importing style sheets from one InDesign file to another.
Keep up the great work. The deposits that you guys are making in the Karma bank are growing with compounded interest. I am certain you will reap the benefits in ways yet to be discovered.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:09 am
I’m from Michigan and a full time college student as a returning adult. There are two degrees I am currently working on, web site design and Computer Information Management. I’ve taken many classes in design and Photoshop, but I always learn something from every webinar I’ve been able to squeeze in my schedule. The interactivity you offer is very helpful and unique. There is also kind of a “buzz” of excitement to think that people all over the world are learning the same thing at the same time.
Your teachers are fabulous, they obviously really know the material and they make it very accessible. I love Adobe products, but they are not always intuitive and they often are full of hidden gems and shortcuts that are not obvious. You point out how to make the product that I use every day become more useful.
Especially in this difficult economy, with budget cutbacks and limited budgets, you are making it possible for people to learn skills that they need to survive in a global economy. The prices for the downloaded webinars are very fair and after a few sessions of the free seminars I was “sold” on purchasing some of the upcoming offerings (Flash) when they become available.

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Your format is one of the best or I should say EXCELLENT in learning. Your ability to make the learning process simple yet so many “Ohhhhh so thats how its done” moments keeps me coming back to all your CS4 classes. I purchase the download package. This great “library” of training videos, lets me find the answer without having to scratch my head as I say “what?” when dealing with books or online video-tutorials. You make it so enjoyable to learn CS4.
2. Where do you live? – State College, PA (east coast)
3. Does this live worldwide format really work? YES, YES and
YES. I enjoy hearing where everyone is located around the world. Your skills in teaching these classes make it enjoyable and fun to learn this mega software yet you make it simple! I love the fact I don’t have to leave my home office. I have used your downloads over and over on projects. I keep the PDF’s handouts as reference guides to look up “How to” on the videos.
Where is the “line” for the 6 month Photoshop class? Sign me up!
I have told my friends, starting to use CS4 or just upgraded to CS4, about your wonderful live online classes and/or they can purchase the downloads videos.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:11 am
As a freelancer, your classes have been very helpful with updating my skills. When I worked among other designers, we’d learn from each other. Now, your classes make that possible again for me.
I purchased the full InDesign class early on, realizing that I would not be able to “attend” class every week and have enjoyed reviewing them at my convenience. For me, the class is a great value, making it possible to learn without paying for a babysitter while I’d attend class away from home. It also gives me the opportunity to learn at the end of the day when chores are done and the house is quiet.
You have helped greatly with badly needed improvements and I am greatful for the nudge that the word “FREE” provided. Now, since I’m on a roll, I am getting involved with the Illustrator course and would seriously consider learning new skills with your Photoshop course.
With gratitude from central Illinois, PLEASE continue your work!!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:11 am
As someone who works in a small creative department with very limited resources, your training has become an invaluable tool. I don’t have the budget for the big conferences in expensive cities. CreativeTechs webinars give me access to high quality training I couldn’t otherwise afford.
As to your final question, yes, the live format really does work! My calendar beeps at me every Thursday at 2pm. I close my door, turn off my phone and I’m transported to Seattle for a few precious hours.
Thank you for the great opportunity. Please keep it up!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:13 am
I just recently switched from Quark Xpress to InDesign at the newspaper, and since we are a small publication, they couldn’t afford training materials. I had decided to teach myself before we went on line with InDesign. I had come across many tutorials, but none of them came close to what you learn in the webinar courses. It is such a superb course, and allowed me to learn the program faster than my superiors ever expected. I purchased the 10 week course for indesign, and find myself going back through them over and over again. I also use photoshop cs4, and while I have used photoshop through the years, my work schedule doesn’t allow me “play or experimental time”, and I would love to learn so much more about photoshop and do hope that this class becomes available. Thank you guys for such a great teaching and experience, and can’t wait to learn more and more from you!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:14 am
Hi, I’m, Gloria, from Puerto Rico. I would love to be able to take advantage of this Photoshop course and improve my Photoshop skills. These free courses really help me as I would not be able to take them otherwise as I’m starting out in the business of photography. Thank you CreativeTechs!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:15 am
I admit I was skeptical about a “free” class online but I have been very impressed. I work for local government and recent budget cuts have prohibited us to spend any money on training. Each class has added new skills to my nine years of design experience. I work in Virginia so class begins at 2 p.m., which works well with my schedule and logging in to the webinar is as easy as clicking on a link. In the past I’ve had to travel to classes but your webinar format saves me so much time because I can take part at my desk. The on-screen setup works great and is easy to follow. Please continue these webinars, as I will continue to rave about them to friends and colleagues.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:15 am
I live in Richmond, Virginia. I started doing the classes about 4 weeks ago. Thurs I log in at 2 to do the InDesign course. Tues I try to do the Illustrator course at 2pm but it is a more hectic day at work usually so sometimes i can’t make it. I just bought the creative suite and have been in the weeds with it for about a month. i am an artist and also work part-time in marketing/advertising so i am using the programs for both. It all started to click when i started the webinars. I took a local in-person class when i first bought the program the that for a beginner level but i felt it was more intermediate and assumed the people were in the design field. there was a lot of focus on shortcuts and workflow and i felt very overwhelmed. i consider myself pretty good at computer. After 8 hours, with a cold no less, i felt punched in the head. Two hours stretches are perfect and i love that i am not driving across town to a class. i am up the for 6 month course. Inevitably i won’t make everyone but that would be true of an in-person class too. I think breaks around major holidays is a good idea.
I don’t twitter. i find the worldwide format great. it is comforting to gauge my skill level against others and I find the Q&A very helpful.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:16 am
Your format is great. Jason not only knows is craft; he is able to communicate to the masses. Each session is well planned. Each session makes a good foundation for the next session.
The webinar in “full screen” mode displays 1/2 height and full width on my screen (19″ 4×3 ratio). It would really be nice to have full height as well. That may be a problem using Apple products on a windows computer ;>)
Your time slots have worked well for me living in Nebraska. For those around the world, perhaps a tape delay at a 12 hour off set would be beneficial. Even though they would not have live feed back to questions, answers could be provided at the beginning of the next Q&A session the following week.
Gratefully, having the downloads available keep me current when I was not able to complete or missed a session. Having them available for review is a good refresher. That is a very important element of your training.
Please be sure that I am included on your nest session. As I have stated previously: I have learned more from your webinars than reading all the books that I have purchased.
Thanks for providing such a a great experience

Guys, what an awesome site, I recently wrote this blog http://tunicca.wordpress.com/2009/06/19/online-training-worth-the-cash/ that asks the question of whether ‘free’ offers the same value as the professional training sites….. Hope your readers and you enjoy my take.
Keep up the good work and if we can help in any way then give me a shout.

Have definately benefitted, especially from tips (which is the main difference between attending class locally) and would be interested in Photoshop crash course, but have missed classes because I got the times wrong.

I (with my three partners) publish a local magazine using InDesign and the Adobe creative suite. Although our Art Director has a good working knowledge of InDesign (as do myself and one other partner), we all needed more information and skills within the program. We all meet together, and work while we are learning. Often, we will say a question out loud, and then we will hear that question posed aloud through another class participant via twitter or the online question option through Citrix. It’s like being in a classroom, but everyone is in their separate cubicles.
The speed of the lessons is great, as it seems most users are already very familiar with the program, but need additional skills or updates.
I bought the $50 package of all the downloads after the first class, and we all agree that they are vital for reference.
We are based in Sarasota, FL. Your program was suggested to us by another professional woman in Sarasota that contributes to our publication.
We absolutely will sign up for future classes. Many thanks!

I live in the DC area and love the webinars offered. I’m very impressed with the quality of the courses and I’ve told everyone I know who works with the applications–many I know have registered and have quite happy also.
I have been in the design field and on a Mac for just under 20 yrs. With budget cuts and staff cuts it is getting more difficult to convince upper management the importance of out-of-house training to stay current with software updates. Well, Creative Techs has come to the rescue! The classes are well organized, easy to follow, and Jason keeps me interested with his fun-hearted approach to learning. Making the videos available to purchase after the classes were a great idea because I was not able to make every class in its entirety due to deadlines and knew I wasn’t going to miss a thing.
I would most certainly be interested in a 6-month course, especially in Photoshop. Thank you

1. I can’t really compare you to other classes: I, too, work for a semi-government agency that can spend zero money right now, and I am the only designer here, with no tech support or training available to me these last four years.
I’ve never participated in any class, webinar or other since an evening class in Quark in 1991.
I usually search via the usual engines for specific answers to Adobe questions.
2. I am in Albany, New York, and join in at 2 pm.
I hope you keep sessions at or around this time.
3. The live conversation, and the sense that I am with a friend who’s showing me his expertise is very effective, more so than reading a book can be because I get a sense of the pace at which things are done, and the thinking behind certain steps.
It’s even instructive to see the expertget momentarily held up on some small problem, one which would I not be able to solve.
I feel like I’ve been the kid outside the restaurant watching all the diners, and you folks came by and agreed to share some of your meal.
I wonder if there’s any way the price of the digital lesson copies and PDFs can be brought down any more at the start of a series.
I expect your sales would get a boost, but will understand if you don’t do it.
Thanks!

I’ve been taking all of CT’s recent webinars and they have been consistently excellent. As a graphic designer for nearly 30 years, and
a part-time design instructor and Adobe & Quark design software
instructor (for a 7-year stint) at a local community college, I’m definitely impressed with the outstanding quality of instruction from the Creativetech webinars. These webinars are a huge asset to the creative community, very effective and enjoyable. I will register for any Creativetechs webinar, they are not to be missed. I have learned
so much!
Thanks for generously sharing your knowledge with the creative people around the globe!

The PS class was the first real webinar I’ve taken (other online courses have involved downloading a PDF and then participating in an online forum). Other than having to commit to a specific day/time over many weeks (I’m in White Bear Lake, MN and taking the class at 1 pm), I really like the live format. You guys are EXCELLENT teachers and having the demonstrations full-screen is great. What works best for me is purchasing the course materials (and I prefer them in PDF as in the first PS course, rather than a repeat viewing of the video of the class itself as in the current Illustrator class). The PDF provides a useful reinforcement — I have it on my computer and printed out in a notebook and it’s a resource I’m using all the time! Thank you (over and over) for doing this!

Love all the courses. Though they are usually at 2pm my time, it works for me. I can eat lunch or multi-task.

Your online workshops have been invaluable. I am attending them with my 14 year old daughter, who is doing some amazing Photoshop images. She hopes to submit a few of the images for suggestions. Retouch Tuesdays especially have been filled with useful tips. We live near Seattle and came to one of the workshops live – great coffee!. We enjoy your silly and playful approach to teaching – real people doing real (cool) things – not the typical corporate serious (and blah) approach. My daughters and I are planning to travel extensively over the next year, so hope to continue with the online workshops on the road.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:36 am
I thoroughly enjoyed the webinar format. Jason is clearly an expert, and having Craig moderate and stop Jason for occasional questions was good. I liked that there was a small live audience – I think it made the presentations more lively.
I’m in Boston – the class was during my work hours (2-3pm). I have taken a Photoshop class at a community college. I liked both. I purchased the downloads to be able to review and play around when at home.
I was amazed that with close to 1000 participating my questions got through on a few occasions!

I’m a Mac consultant in Sonoma County, northern California. The Photoshop and Illustrator 10-week courses are amazing, and I absolutely am interested in a more comprehensive course, both for myself and to recommend to clients who use or want to use Photoshop, as well as Illustrator and Indesign.
The real-world examples, and the ability to ask questions as we go along is invaluable. I”ve learned more about Photoshop in your 10-week course than from any of the dozen or more CD and DVD courses I’ve taken, or of the dozen + books I’ve purchased.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:39 am
As an owner of a creative shop in Phoenix I’ve relied on CreativeTechs many times for a depth and clairty of knowledge you cannot find anywhere online, let alone so much of it is free!
I STRONGLY encourage the powers at be to make a comprehensive course! Keep up the great work guys!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:40 am
I’ve always found the training at CreativeTechs to be excellent. CreativeTechs knows how to provide relevant training better than anyone I know. I take training opportunities whenever I can, but if I had to pick just one, I’d pick CreativeTechs!
In my office, everyone found it much easier to get away for 1-2 hours training than a half or whole day training. Everyone jumped at the chance to train with this team.
I’ve been fortunate to always be “live” in the classroom when I’ve come to training. One of the perks of living in Seattle.
What wonderful timing for this training program, when budget for quality training is so hard to come by.

Hey Charles, as a Mac consultant, would you be at all interested in a series of courses on Mac OS X administration and support issues? Jordan Bojar in our office is writing a book on Mac OS X Server for larger Enterprise environments (see his Make Mac Work blog for topic examples), and I’ve been toying with the idea of adding some focused Mac OS X training.
We’ve discussed the possibility of hosting a series of worldwide training workshops around the issues of supporting Macs in larger enterprise networks.
Just a thought. ~Craig

I attended the PhotoShop class, which was the first one you offered. I am a true beginner, as I had only spent about an hour using PS before I took your class. I have a VERY old version, but I was able to put into practice almost everything. It makes me want the newer version, so it’s on my list! I loved the class so much that I convinced my son to take the InDesign class, and I purchased the PS downloads. I would have never purchased the class if I hadn’t already experienced them in the free format. By having attended the classes, I knew I couldn’t absorb everything after one exposure and I wanted to be able to go back through and use them again to review and understand parts that were too advanced for me.
I tune in from Dallas/Fort Worth. The Retouchng classes haven’t been at a good time for me, which I can see might be a problem for some people to tune in at a specific time. But the PS classes worked out so well for me and I loved being involved with a live classroom from around the world.
I would love to see the expanded course!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:43 am
The courses offer live feedback. That is something one doesn’t get from DVDs or recorded online courses. Further, when one watches the courses after the fact, the student questions will likely answer a question the viewer has.
Location: Nevada.
I unfortunately can hardly ever make the classes due the time they are offered and the nature of my job. A replay of the course later the same day would be greatly appreciated. I likely will just have to purchase all of the courses after the fact, which I don’t mind as the cost, so far, seems fair. But having to wait till its completed sucks for me. As an Adobe junkie I would likely purchase the course after I completed the free one anyway (unless is sucked…lol).
The worldwide format can only be beneficial. Brings various cultures and people together in a common cause, whats not to like?
June 29th, 2009 at 6:43 am
I am a 28 year old designer, located in Kansas City, with six years experience in the ad industry. I have now signed up for three of your courses and they are all absolutely incredible. I begin tuning in around 1pm central standard time. I cannot wait to add the photoshop course to my schedule. I’m moving to New York this August to grow my career. I love the idea of being able to continue with creativetechs no matter where I am located. I am now religiously taking every course you offer. The teachers have tons of personality and I look forward to learning tons of new tips each week. I can’t thank you enough!!! Keep up the great work guys:)
June 29th, 2009 at 6:44 am
The online courses offered by CreativeTechs are AMAZING! I have participated in a number of them and always walk away excited and looking forward to more. I live in East Lansing, Michigan … so it’s nice to be able to sit down in front of the computer and join training taking place in a different part of the country … and join people from all over the world who are interested in the some of the same things that I am. Watching the training live, being able to chat on Twitter, hearing real-time questions answered … I love it and hope there’s lots more to come! BIG THANKS!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:44 am
As a free-lance designer (among other nefarious roles), these classes work well with my schedule. I am currently enrolled in both InDesign and Illustrator, and have purchased Illustrator since I am the least proficient in Illustrator (oh those Beziers!). I have gone back to that webinar time and again to really really get the Pen tool and the Bezier curves. Did you ever try to learn this out of a manual?? ACK!!
Free webinar aside (which is simply fabulous), this has been a very resourceful training for me. Your approach is excellent. The instruction is precise, and moving at just the right pace. This stuff can get pretty dry, so your weird humor helps keep my focus. And as I mentioned, having the option to purchase the class at a reasonable cost is excellent. And! I don’t have to go anywhere–the classes are right here at my fingertips! But you really need to upscale your food; the thought of Twinkies and donuts are really unhealthy and make me hungry.
I live in hot hot Dallas TX (I wish I lived back in Chicago [sigh]), so I’m tuning in at 1pm CST. I wish it could be earlier but I understand you’re spanning a multitude of time zones, but really, it does interfere with my skating practice…
Does this work? You bet it does. Even if I don’t purchase the webinar, I am having weekly epiphanies from your insight. I can take notes or know to go to my manual or to the Help menu for anything that I did not completely get, and of course, I still have the option of purchasing an individual or full class.
I love it all. Thank you for your ingenious planning and presentation and making it affordable!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:45 am
I took the Photoshop course and really liked it. I bought the the handouts and podcasts and those have been helpful for review. I wasn’t able to tune in for the last two classes, but having the podcasts made it worthwhile. I liked the class better than ones I’ve had on InDesign with a company here in Chicago–maybe because you guys really know the industry.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:49 am
Photoshop for 6 Months? I regrettably missed the last sessions and after taking immersing myself in InDesign and Illustrator classes, I am ready to take the plunge.
Please Do It!
Wow 6 months of commitment, it’s sorta like a marriage..
June 29th, 2009 at 6:49 am
Location: Northwest Arkansas, 1:00 pm class time.
First of all there is not affordable training like this available in my area. You’d have to go onsite to the local University, pay $800+, lose job time and even then you would spend an entire semester and not learn as much as you teach here in the weekly webinars… Great Job.
Our company budget for training is pretty much $0 and to perform your job better and stay competitive in the job market, just in case, it is essential to keep learning new things to help become an even better designer. Your classes are unbelievable in terms of content offered and also because they are free for now if you schedule the webinars into your days. (I hope this doesn’t change EVER!).
I often mentally grumble when someone interrupts my CreativeTechs Training with anything other work. I never know when I might miss something that will be very useful since I attend the live versions only, due to lack of budget.
I attend many webinars in various subjects throughout each month and I always look forward to any CreativeTechs programs. The format completely works. Keep it up. Thanks for offering all that you do!
Can’t wait for the next one!
When can i sign up?!

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
The instructors are very well prepared and knowledgeable. The extensive Q&A and your willingness to answer a LOT of varied questions are awesome. The depth of knowledge of the CreativeTechs instructors is much deeper than that of any other class I’ve taken either on- or off-line. Also, the recorded sessions are a god-send for me. I can’t always attend at the scheduled time.
2. Where do you live?
I am in upstate New York and the class is at 2:00 PM my time (EST).
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
YES! You get much more varied questions and hints/tips. So many different points-of-view, benefiting all who attend!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:50 am
I’m in the Northern, VA/DC area and I love your tutorials. They are a fabulous (FREE) resource. I’ve taken two of the courses and I find them informative and engaging. I really enjoy the live-format. Please keep up the good work and continue making these great tutorials available, for free, to the masses.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:52 am
I think this class would be great. To answer your questions.
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I think it is a mix between the presenter(s) and the course itself. The presenters have always been knowledgeable and have high energy. The course as well flows well to cover topics that are helpful from beginners to advanced users.
A lot of other classes around the area and/or courses online tend to be pretty boring. The content isn’t structured and if it is the presenter doesn’t seem all that interested in the topics they are presenting. For an online format having questions and answers that are live are extremely helpful. Your courses have surpassed all the others I have seen.
2. Where do you live?
Seattle – 10 or 11 am works out very well.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It has for us so far as long as it isn’t too early.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:54 am
Thanks very much for offering these courses. They are invaluable. Please keep them going. I’m a Graphic Designer in Seattle and have had my own shop for 16 years. I’m amazed how much I learn from your webinars. I have purchased the last 3 courses to have the references to look back on.
Thank you!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:54 am
I have been attending classes with the Creative Techs for several months now and enjoy them thoroughly. They teach things in such a way that they totally make sense, which makes it much easier to remember. I would love to see extended classes be available!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:57 am
1 – Love the online format. Very easy to book time and attend. Much easier than taking a live class.
2 – Seattle
3 – Works for me.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:57 am
Craig,
A big yes to the OS X classes!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:57 am
Loved the photoshop course, an expert who knew and used it everyday, rather than some other teachers who were not in touch with the way it would be used on a daily basis and the real life time frames for getting a job done.
Signing in from MA.
I love the format, just wish the time for each subject was longer. Maybe if there was an initial class to get things going and then a second class to follow that went more in depth and to answer the greet questions that get covered in the Q&A section. Such a great service, thank you so much!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 6:57 am
1. The most different thing about CreativeTechs online training is that it is FREE of charge. I can purchase the downloads if I choose yet there is no pressure to do so. As a freelance designer in this economy I must watch my pennies.
2. I am a freelance graphic designer in Miami, Florida. I am currently taking AI on Mondays and ID on Thursdays (both classes start EST at 2pm). I have signed up for Flash and as soon as Dreamweaver is available will be signing up for that as well. I would definitely sign up for the 6month Photoshop as I would appreciate a more advanced level for this software. I have reccommended CreativeTechs to everyone I know.
3. The classes are easy to sign in, technically they go very smoothly. The sound and visual is great. If you pay attention you can follow along easily. The instructors are lively and inject humor into their teaching style. All the instructors have obvious extensive knowledge of the software. Jason does a great job fielding and consolidating questions. Even though the two classes I have been taking are more for beginners I have learned at least 3 new things in each and every class. These classes have been a terrific boon to my knowledge base and I am so glad that I have discovered the gem CreativeTechs.

I am an owner of a local quick print business in Decorah, IA. We design a good portion of our business before we print their orders. Time is such a valuable commodity and your classes are invaluable to me and the other two gals I work with. All three of us are self taught so any help with all Adobe programs is welcome. I love the banter that goes on during class and also the questions that come in and are addressed on the spot. I really feel as if I’m right there in Seattle with you guys. I didn’t know about your webinars when you had one on Photoshop but am currently attending your InDesign and Illustrator classes. I have purchased your Photoshop and InDesign classes and intend to purchase any other ones as they come out. The tips are wonderful too. A 6 month in-depth Photoshop class would be awesome! I will definitely attend. It may be hard to teach an old (62 years young) dog new tricks but you definitely make it possible. Thanks.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:58 am
Keep them coming!
I’m learning alot. The content in excellent.
The format works for a busy schedule.
Live interaction is just like being in the room with the trainer.
These guys are putting their heart into it and it shows.

1. Having live interaction with the instructor and other participants is so much better than a training video. As questions come up, they are answered on the spot. It is interesting to see when the webinar/twitter boards light up. It’s obvious that participants either didn’t get the last trick, or they are excited because they did!
2. Seattle.
3. Worldwide is great. The more the merrier. Questions from the participants are a rich variety and helpful for all.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:02 am
The webinars offered by Creativetech are excellent! I am a freelance graphic designer in Northwest Arkansas and even though my husband teaches illustration at the university here I don’t have the time to take classes there. Also, this is much faster than trying to figure things out on my own. I have done other good video training, but none of them compare to these. They are the most comprehensive, fastest, up-to-date, and entertaining training I have ever taken (I have purchased 3 classes now so I can go back over them as I need to). The live format is great. It is as if I were attending in person and the question and answer aspect makes everything clearer. The classes are at 1:00 central time here.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:05 am
Hi Guys, Thanks for the classes! I’m in Hawaii and enjoy watching the classes at 8am my time. I purchased both the Photoshop and InDesign classes.
I’ve already used many of the things I’ve learned at work and just love how much easier these powerful programs are once you know a fwe basics.
Thanks!

Creative Techs approach is different from many courses I’ve taken (online and in person) in the past because the instructors are ‘real world’ users of the products and can relate and resolve many day to day issues that users come across in their work. Although ADOBE certified instruction is good it makes all of the difference to learn from people that use these software tools to actually create and prepare projects for clients, printers, etc. I get the most from an instructor that has had their own problems with a project and learned “the hard way” what to do to fix it – this is more informative than a “perfect world scenario” classroom lesson. I also learn a lot from the other course participants and their questions. It is amazing that people all over the world and with different types of projects encounter the same stumbling blocks using these products. The fact that the classes are FREE and the downloads are inexpensive is also fantastic. I work for a K-12 public school district and there is limited funding for training yet we are contantly being asked to produce professional publications & design work because there isn’t funding to pay outside consultants.
I live in the midwest of the US. The time of the online courses is always great for me but I’m always impressed with the folks around the globe that get up in the middle of the night or before the sun rises in the morning to participate in these sessions – because the classes are worth them altering their sleep habits to attend!
This training offers worldwide participation that to me feels like a classroom. These online courses offer a “real” classroom experience. The sound quality is great. Even being in the US I’ve usually had to dial in to the phone line for the audio portion of online training to eliminate drop outs but with the system that Creative Techs are using I can do it all via the internet (audio & video). We had one problem last week (wk 3, illustrator) but within minutes it was resolved. With the ‘twitter’ chat room participants and ‘hear’ what comments others are making and this fuels the learning experience with instant feedback and sharing of tips & tricks. The video is actually better than in a live classroom because it doesn’t leave the participant struggling to focus from a large display screen in the front of the room and then back to their own smaller screen. The participants can view the keystrokes that the instructor is making and really see what is happening without missing a single step.
I can’t say enough about these classes. I stumbled onto the Creative Techs website while doing a ‘google’ search for an Adobe product troubleshooting tip. I’ve shared information about them with dozens of co-workers, colleages at other education organizations and friends in the desktop publishing business. I’ve attended some ADOBE online courses and in person training from other sources and the Creative Techs approach of weekly lessons and not cramming a nearly limitless suite of software into one or two days helps me actually retain useful information and be able to use it the next day in my work fairly seemlessly.
Please continue to encourage the industry leaders to participate in offering their knowledge to users of these products – around the world. Publishing a book is fantastic but actually interacting with students can help both sides advance and improve their skills.

Answers to your Qn’s.
1) Good to be able to join in as time permits and to have the opportunity to purchase, at a great price, the entire class if needed. You should advertise: “for less than the price of an Adobe Classroom book you get 15-20 hours almost one-on-one instruction”. The Q and A services is great too. Add a Q and A type session once in a while to answer questions that folks write in after a class or session. Add in a session or two on Creative Suite Integration whereby, like Retouch Tuesday, you select a set of topics ahead of time and prepare to show how the suite can be used to max potential. Have all your keynote speakers present.
2), Lexington, KY.
3) The format seems to work very well. I have little trouble getting in and hearing you. I’d cut off cleanly without dragging on for the live sessions. Also there is no need to rehash the same ground. Do the recordings and make available again as non-live broadcasts until CS5 or whatever comes along. I do not think you need to do re-rcordings of live classes if it covers the same ground. Just move on to new or more advanced topics. Or set a price for the classes and sell them later at a good return for both parties. (Offer at different times the repeat courses so others around the world can best view the material during their most convenient hours). I hope that last bit is clear. If not feel free to write to me for further input.
I tell as many Forums as I can about your classes and these do work and are great value for the money – regardless of paying for the downloads or not! Cut to the chase and tell us why you are doing the classes without all the extra stuff about you each week. I think you are catching on with folks for us not to need to listen to 10 minutes of Craig each week.
Good luck – I’ll be continuing to watch. Spread out the classes a bit more – Watching two or three a week is a bit much.

I am a freelance designer and photographer in NYC. I tune into your course at 12:45p to ensure I can attend the course. This is an invaluable way for a designer to continue to grow their skill set. The economy makes it difficult to splurge on class admissions but you make it much more obtainable. This way, I can take the classes without the pressure of the fees, but in the end, if you need to purchase missed courses, it is in an amount that is practical and justifiable. I strongly feel that these classes have led to a huge part of my growth. I hope that you find a way to continue offering these classes for free with the option to purchase. This concept is much easier for a starving artist to digest. I am a loyal attendee for life!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:09 am
I’m in Illinois
I think the free class are a great!!! offer. Its hard for me to steal away time at work to attend though.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:09 am
Creative Techs is great for the true artist that wants to better themselves.
I don’t like intensive training sessions myself (Short attention span), so the loose atmosphere CreativeTechs create is great for me.
I like to see what other Graphic Artists like myself are doing and how they do it.
I enjoy learning different ways of how to things and new tips.
Sometimes I watch Seminiars at work. It’s great when I can be on the clock at work, getting paid and having my boss know I am learning, but I’m really also just having fun.
CreativeTechs have more of a “Purist” way of getting their info through to the art community, where it’s like having a friend show you how you can better yourself digitally.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:09 am
Probably the best thing about the Creative Techs’ format is the flexibility it gives me. I can either participate in a real-time session or I can purchase a recording of that session if my schedule dictates I miss the real-time version. Here on Mercer Island, WA, the classes arrive at 11:00…an excellent time.
In terms of whether or not the format works: technically it appears to be challenging to mount a class, and the Creative Techs group is getting more and more adept at putting them on as their experience grows…exactly as you’d expect. The live-audience component is a real plus in that it gives the instructor real-time interaction and makes the presentations fresher than the pre-scripted versions other vendors produce.
I’m looking forward to more of your offerings.

1. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors, Q&A works well, about as well as physical small classroom settings.
2. Ann Arbor, Michigan — can join as early as 10:00am ET and as late as 9:00 pm ET
3. No problems with worldwide format!

I would be so interested in this! I have attended a few of the webinars and love the work you guys do! It is so handy and useful to me I really hope this happens!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:12 am
Having come from Alaska, I’m an old salt at webinars but these guys move fast which really keeps you focused so you don’t miss anything -certainly no time to get bored or sleepy! They are entertaining as well which is an added bonus. I’m in Washington now, on the Olympic Peninsula, so a webinar is still appropriate because for me to drive into Seatttle would take over 2 hours each way. This type of training is very visual and having it right on the screen in front of you, I would say is even better than a classroom setting, since yo’ure not fighting to see a screen at the front of a classroom. The twitter chat room feature has helped too in case you miss something – there’s hundreds of folks out there ready to help you catch up or explain something. Please though – rotate out the days you offer the classes. I’m taking InDesign right now on Thursdays which is great but the two other classes you’re offering that I want to take are on Mondays which I can’t do – hoping next time you’ll have them on a different day?

Hi Craig,
We are a husband-wife team and have a small ad/design agency. The CreativeTechs webinars are a great resource, and superior to others. I started taking them a year or so ago before you started this Adobe training (I took the graphical email and fonts classes taught by Craig), and now both Greg and I have taken your 10-week Photoshop class, currently are in the Illustrator class, and have signed up for the Flash (and I also took the 90 minute Eric intro class). Have purchased all the downloads (and wish you had video’d the email and fonts classes, would have bought those too if available). Will continue with your training forever if it’s available.
In answer to your questions:
1. What makes CreativeTechs approach different? In comparison to Lynda.com and others like the Swinburne podcasts (Aussie university Flash and other tutorials, here’s a link to check them out http://www.swinburne.edu.au/design/tutorials/), I find the quality of your knowledge and preparation to be equally excellent. Where I think you are superior is in the organization of the class material and in your “secret sauce”. More on that later. The approach you have chosen to give a “global” understanding of a particular program is where you shine. Breaking down the programs to present them in an optimum sequence for learning is the advantage you provide. Even though I have worked in Photoshop and Illustrator for more the 15 years, and Flash and Dreamweaver for more than 8, I think it is very important to continue to learn and polish skills from current masters of programs like you, Jason, Steve and Eric. Adobe should subsidize you if they aren’t already, since you are also reinforcing our purchase decisions and in many cases, prompting people to upgrade.
2. We live in Minneapolis. We don’t have time to take physical classes or inclination (I have done much self-teaching from books) as we are extremely busy with clients and teaching, but know people who have attended classes at various colleges to gain program knowledge. It’s expensive, time-consuming and inflexible, not to mention the quality of the teaching is usually inferior to what you offer.
3. World-wide format works great, altho I agree with Peri above that the Twitter component is a big distraction. We signed up with Twitter to participate if the spirit moves us, but have not yet seen the need. Last week in the Photoshop class, we noticed that much of the Twitter was inane broadcasting and commenting, lots of people enjoying hearing/seeing themselves talk. It reminded us of kids chattering in the back of the classroom as the teacher is trying to conduct the class. As a teacher, it drove Greg nuts. Several of the Twitter questions were of material that Jason had just covered, so the tweeters weren’t listening. We wondered how you could tweet and pay attention at the same time and that indicated to us that you really can’t.
3. As far as how does the format work? Really great. It is like having a delightful and brilliant teacher who is simultaneously entertaining and very informative. Don’t underestimate the value of the personalities and little stories and asides you and Jason/Steve/Eric make, your “secret sauce”, that is what makes this much more human, fun and interactive than Lynda.com or others. Greg and I were talking the other day about taking a trip to Seattle after our son goes off to college in August, and he said, “I know, let’s go see Craig and Jason!” But seriously, the unique personalities and enjoyment you bring to the process is so important. Greg is an adjunct prof at the U of M and makes a real effort (very successfully I think) to have fun with his students and at the same time take a very careful approach to the material as far as quality of presentation goes. So from one teacher to another, he is very impressed by you. Interestingly, when we have missed the occasional class and watched the download after the fact, we are amused that it still seems interactive even though it is no longer live. Again, the human component is so very important. This is why clients come back repeatedly or students want to take more than one class from a great teacher. We feel that we have gotten to know you guys, you’d be fun to have a beer with, that sort of thing. Just makes the process more enjoyable and hey, if you’ve got the choice, wouldn’t we all rather give our time and money to people we like?
So keep up the great work, and we really hope it’s profitable for you or will be soon so that it will continue. Also want to mention how much we appreciate David Ingersoll’s quick replies to our occasional email requests for download links when we were out of town. Best regards, Kate and Greg

The Creative Techs approach is friendly, inclusive of a world-wide and in-house audience that feels seamless and provides a wealth of knowledge in a webinar format that is fast and easy to follow. Taking Jason’s Photoshop class is like sitting right next to him while he shows how he works. It’s so nice to be outside my own head and see how someone else does the things I do and learn how to do them faster and better. Being able to interact and react with others online is a blast, and the Q and A with Jason after each session is just as useful as the class.
I’m in Rochester, NY so classes have been around 2:00 in the afternoon. This is hard to attend sometimes (evening would be better), but I have no reservations about purchasing any class I can’t get to because I know how valuable the information will be and that it will be in a high quality format taught by an incredible instructor.
The world-wide live format feels like CreativeTechs has figured out how to make each designer’s day all over the world and raise the bar for us all on a personal level and as an industry.

I am a graphic designer in Charlotte, north Carolina and contact my business at home. I fine these classes very convenient for me.
I am learning so much from the online classes. This fall I was planning on taking a Photoshop class at the local community college, but I will put that on hold and take part in the online 6 month class.
As I mentioned the classes are very easy to understand. As I prior computer instructor I look for classes where the online instructor has technical knowledge and the ability to communicate that to others. (that is a rarity in this field) Is there a way that a workbook can be purchased to do exerises relating to the topics after each class. I know this is difficult during the webinar, but I like to put some of these features into practice. I will provide you additional suggestions on this idea in a separate email.
You have done a great job with InDesign and Illustrator as well. Keep up the good work! As soon as you offer Dreamweaver I will sign up for that too!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:16 am
I love the casual conversation between instruction; it’s efficient, but fun. It definitely holds my attention. I work at an ad agency in NYC, and join you at 2pm EST time. I’m usually in the office then, so I just put on my headphones, and when I can’t follow along on screen, I can still listen and pick up tips. I totally think the worldwide format works…I think it’s great that anyone can log on and join in. Good luck with your future plans…I’ll be signing up!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:18 am
Your courses are by far the easiest to follow and understand for me. I am an intermediate user of photoshop and most DVD courses that I have used are moved along too quickly and we are not able to have toe Q&. & A. sessions you normally after each session. This makes them invaluable to me.
I live in Arkansas, which makes no difference to this course, but lets you know where I am located.
I use the streaming audio portion of your classes. For me it works extremely well. I ham using high speed cable connection.
The only problem I have is getting to get on the Web site when your classes are broadcast. However, the price of downloading the class after they are completed is quite reasonable for all the information I get from these classes.
Keep up the good work. I love your Photoshop classes.
I am using PS CS 4.

CT’s approach is different because they aren’t just trainers, but professional users. The instructors’ knowledge of the software is extensive because of their experience in the field and their personal commitment. They provide pros and cons of various techniques, strongly recommend the best way (and sometimes the only way) to do a task. No question is every perceived as dumb, everyone is made to feel equal, no matter what their knowledge is. The interface is great — I amaze at how I can feel so connected with the in-class presentation when I’m on the other side of the continent. The Twitter component helps the class communicate amongst themselves — fabulous use of the technology. I’ve done college courses, NAPP, Adobe seminars, etc., and in a word these webinars are the BEST I’ve courses I’ve done.

I am a veteran of exactly one Creative Techs class, the famous Flaming Twinkie session on Illustrator’s pen tool, which I have nicknamed the Pen of Mystery. I have more than once tried to learn to use the pen tool and did not succeed — until this class! The material was presented so well, and in such an engaging way, that I actually used the pen tool in a project I did the next day. Now it’s my Pen Pal.
Thank you for your heroic efforts that day in getting the class going. And thank you for offering this priceless boost to my capabilities and confidence.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:22 am
What makes you different is the quality and knowledge of the teacher, the software used to connect to the class and student participation. Graphics and Posters is located in Frisco, Texas 75034. Some times I get to join the class, but the best part is being able to download the class and back up for later view and use. World wide works because Graphic Arts and/or Visual Communications is a small knit tight family of professionals. FYI, I started with Illustrator 88 back in ’89.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:22 am
These free seminars are really helpful for a general overview.
It would be useful to have an outline of each day’s course posted such that someone with some knowledge of the app might know ahead of time if they are already well versed in the topic being presented on a particular day. Nevertheless, everyone has different learning styles and everyone can learn something from these online classes. The hard part is alloting the time to watch them – luckily they are taped which makes it even better.
Thanks.

1. I have never taken a course in InDesign or online before however I find it very accessible and incredibly informative. So much of the information is new that for my benefit I have purchased the course for reference. The print outs are quite helpful and easily read.
2. I am located in southern Maryland along the Potomac River.
3. I do not have high speed at my location so I attend class at my local library. The only logistical problem is to be lucky enough to get the cubical closest to an electrical outlet and furthest from interfering sounds. I feel very lucky to have a time slot offered that allows me to access this fantastic opportunity. This course availability is greatly appreciated. I will definitely take additional courses in the future.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:27 am
The first Photoshop Webinar course proved itself as very valuable to all . I especially appreciate Jason’s experience in showing us the most efficient use of Photoshop’s myriad tools in obtaining great results.
Being from California on the west coast makes signing onto the extended course a no-brainer for me. Thank you!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:27 am
Craig, since moving to Baton Rouge from Seattle I found it extremely difficult in time and expense to maintain the level of training that I was accustom to and consequently forced to travel to Dallas or Houston. Unrealistic for this independent designer. These on-line courses are a perfect fit. I’m currently taking the InDesign and Illustrator classes and wish I was on-board for the Photoshop sessions. I enjoy how Jason (both of them) will show an option or technique that I was totally unaware of. I’ve been using InDesign since it first came out and I probably still only utilize it’s core capabilities. I’m self-taught in these two particular programs and I’m finding a few things missed right out of the gate that now make better sense. If a session is missed, it’s nice to know the materials are available or purchase the entire course which is well worth the cost. Thank you Creative Techs and keep it up!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:28 am
I am really looking forward to the six month Photoshop course as I have greatly improved all my graphic design skills through CreativeTech in the last year and a half. I’ve learned more here than from the college where I took courses.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:28 am
I love these classes because i can be at work and be in class at the same time! I am a professional graphic designer and i still learn new things and brush up on some basics or things i had forgotten while in these classes. The Creative Techs team does a well rounded job in covering these programs and answering questions!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:29 am
The live class format is incredible with the attendees able to ask questions and to also answer each others questions on twitter. I have participated in the photoshop, retouching Tuesdays, indesign and illustrator webinars, and have signed up for the flash class as well. I have purchased the downloads for every class as they are even more valuable to me than the live event. I learn best by doing so being able to watch the webinar later, pausing it while I try out the techniques is the BEST part of the whole shebang. I live in Corvallis, Oregon
June 29th, 2009 at 7:29 am
1. The Creative Techs training approach is different in that you listen to feedback (real-time and otherwise) and adapt your training vision to meet the needs of your audience. It is also different in it’s convenience. Excellent quality live feed straight into my office. (The webinar video screen is larger than most other online training that I’ve experienced…a great benefit.) It doesn’t get more convenient than that. And I love the free live video, pay-per-downloadable unit model. It’s unique and seems fair.
2. I live in Massachusetts, so I generally tune in at 2 pm.
3. It works for me as I can usually adjust my schedule to tune in. It would be nice if you allowed a 24-hour “grace period” for free viewing when our business day is too crazy to reserve a couple of hours for training. Then I could still tune in for free “after hours”, or catch the first 30 minutes of the session that I missed because of a meeting, etc.
I like the current training format of a 60-90 minute stretch of lesson work, then a Q&A session that follows. It’s great to be able to submit questions that arise during the lesson, but my personal preference is not to have too much chattiness and interruption during the actual training, so that I can focus without distraction. There is so much to learn in such a short time! As new software releases become ever more loaded with features, I’d rather plow through new functionality, new tools, etc., than spend a lot of time “socializing”. There is always your blog and the Q&A session after each training for interacting.
I’ve experienced the delivery of the live trainers improve and I do expect with experience that it will get even smoother and paced consistently from lesson to lesson. In the future, I’d like to see the training continue to expand into workflow issues and best processes for common tasks within software apps and also between the different apps in the Creative Suite. Keep up the good work. You’re an invaluable resource for “right brain” professionals, and you’re providing a much need service!
Best regards.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:30 am
I took the 10 week Photoshop class and although I am well versed in Photoshop I learned a lot in the class. I bought the downloads and they are invaluable. The instructor was better than anyone I have ever seen at workshops, in books or on dvds. I would love to see this 6 month course happen.
I live in Oregon and watch at the same time zonwe as Seattle.
I have lots of friends world-wide who would also be interested in watching and would be happy to spread the word about the class.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:31 am
Thanks for this resource Creative Tech. I like the format. I log on and follow along word for word when you are covering material that is new for me. Or putter about with other tasks at my desk and listen with one ear when the material is familiar–and get a very good review and some new tips to solidify my knowledge.
If the webinars were not free I wouldn’t be able to participate because I am a freelancer and times are tough. This opportunity helps me keep my chops up. The day things turn around I will be ready.
Photoshop? Heck, yeah! Bring it on!
From Minneapolis, MN, USA
June 29th, 2009 at 7:33 am
I’ve signed up for every Creative Techs class offered, bought the downloads, and will continue to do so for everything these amazing folks offer. With budgets tight, formal training in all these subjects is pohibitive, so this expert instruction for free is a lifesaver.
The opportunity to interact live with the instructors, plus the always interesting questions from the other attendees, is invaluable.
I’ve been teaching Photoshop for years but I always learn something new that I can bring to my job and my own students. Every week I’m blown away by the depth and breadth of Jason’s knowledge. And I’m finally getting to learn about Illustrator, InDesign and Flash, which I’ve been meaning to do for years.
Thank you so much, Creative Techs. You’re the best.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:34 am
These on-line classes are fantastic! I live near Seattle, and have attended several of Creativetech’s classes in person. And I can tell you that their on-line classes are just like being there–without the hassle of freeway driving and in-town parking. I “attended” the online photoshop classes, and was so impressed that I bought the series as well. I’m looking forward to the upcoming Flash classes–but will be unable to attend those so I will be purchasing those as they are available. A wonderful way to learn these skills!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:35 am
I’m from Colorado. I’ve been in the field for 20+ years but jumped from CS2 to CS4 and needed to get up to speed. I love books, but being able to actually see it demonstrated was invaluable and I learned so much quicker. I took the Photoshop class and am taking the InDesign and Illustrator classes now.
My sister who is brand new to InDesign is really enjoying that class.
Thanks!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:37 am
I’ve taken the 10-week Photoshop course, and have been able to attend most of the Retouch Tuesday classes. I make it a point to come if I can, as Jason’s classes are very informative and helpful. There’s a great atmosphere during the class, and if some point needs further coverage, or a question pops up during the session; it can be answered instantly. CreativeTech is awesome, and I hope to hear more about the 6 month Photoshop course very soon! I live near San Francisco, so I’m in the same timezone- it’s usually very convenient for me. Thank you so much!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:37 am
I’m a great fan of Creative Tech courses. As a self-employed designer, it’s important that I keep my skills current; this was difficult to do previously since I live in a small town in BC. I’ve taken other (well-known) online courses, but they don’t measure up to the practicality, real-world content and participation offered by Creative Tech.
The classes are presented in a format that combines the best of both worlds: live videoclasses where I can ask questions and clearly see what is being taught, and subsequent inexpensive downloads of both the classes AND their question-and-answer periods. That’s the best part for me: each course is so jam-packed with techniques and shortcuts that I can’t take it all in with just one sitting; so the easy-to-navigate downloads have been invaluable when I want to refer back to something … no matter what time of day or night I need that information!
Creative Tech instructors are top-notch: they work in the industry; they know their material inside and out; they are current with trends, tools and client demands; and they know how to share that knowledge.
Outstanding online participatory courses, expert instructors, inexpensive downloads … what’s not to love? Count me in for any and all future Creative Tech courses!

1. What’s the difference?
The class is both informative and entertaining. Doesn’t become dry, boring and impersonal like alot of classes can. I can participate from the comfort of my desk, couch, or anywhere else that suits me. I can watch the class recordings whenever I want if I gotta go early.
2. Location?
Seattle. But I participate or watch the classes wherever I am traveling.
3. Worldwide format work?
I’m hear in Seattle but am reassured by the fact that wherever I go CreativeTechs webinar classes would be right there waiting for me on my laptop.
These are the ONLY courses I follow consistently. CreativeTechs webinars make the world a better place.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:40 am
I tune in from Eugene, Oregon. I design for print and web, and own my business. The InDesign class has been very helpful with considerable hands-on information, delivered in a succinct and digestible format. The interactive component makes the class so much more valuable; adding in a Twitter connection makes participant tips and questions available, even more value yet.
CT’s approach is terrific for, because their perspective is from a professional user’s endpoint. All software has function redundancies, and it’s so helpful to have the best approaches illustrated. The live interactions means I can ask questions for clarification, if needed – not possible with a training video, or other online training webinars I’ve experienced.
The training interface puts me in the ‘classroom’ where I can see right on my desktop what the instructor is doing. If I want, I can have my own software open for quick hands-on reinforcement of the material.
Looing forward to upcoming Flash and Photoshop classes!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:41 am
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I’ve never taken any other webinars before these but I have seen a lynda.com video or two and I far prefer the CT approach. The quality and knowledge of the instructors is extremely high, and I feel very grateful that CT has offered this up for free. Of course, I ended up buying both the PS and InDesign classes when I missed a couple of the live classes, so I am a convert forsure.
2. Where do you live?
Portland, OR, PST. I join in at 11am.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
I think so. Sometimes I use the twitter chat room but sometimes I feel like it is too distracting. The timeslot is perfect for me but I would imagine it is hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. Thankfully, the price of the class is cheap!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:41 am
Your classes have been and continue to be great! These classes fill a very large hole of neglect in the field of great software that Adobe has created. The visual format, also great for those of us, who are visually oriented. I have signed up for all your classes. Bought some of the materials – would have bought them all if I had more $$$! A six-month class in photoshop – heck yes! There is enough to learn just in that one area. Thanks for what you are doing. It is totally amazing!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:43 am
Hi Guys,
1. Your approach is perfectly suited to distance learning. Real-time Q&A and the ability to see exactly what you are doing is extremely useful. I learned so much more from your Photoshop Course than I did from the years I spent in Design College. Of course, the time is mid-day, which pretty much forces me to purchase the course for later viewing…but the price has been completely on target thus far.
2. Cheers from Miami Beach, Florida
3. Yup.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:45 am
did i mention i live in Geneseo, NY, and yes the world-wide format is very helpful. It’s great listening to comments from folks whether, it’s Germany or Brazil – we all have the same issues aka a lack of stellar training on Adobe products. I join the training at 2pm, local time.
Thanks again for your training.

I am a former chemist who now works as a publications coordinator for Washington State University in Pullman. I was looking for local classes to help me in my new position, but there was nothing out there that could help me with my steep learning curve of the Adobe CS4 products.
I was a little worried about taking an online class to begin with; would I really get anything out of it? Well, I took the first online webinar offered (10 week photoshop) and learned so much that I still go back and watch the downloads of the class to pick up more tips! Since then I have also taken the InDesign and Illustrator classes and will take the upcoming Flash class as well. Jason is a great teacher who makes it fun and easy to learn more about the amazing things Adobe Creative Suite can do.
One great part of this class is the tweetchat room that serves as a way for class participants from around the world to ask questions interact in much the same way as in person participants do. I feel like I have made real friends and contacts with these people and it will help me in my continuing work.

Kate & Greg, you wrote: “Interestingly, when we have missed the occasional class and watched the download after the fact, we are amused that it still seems interactive even though it is no longer live.”
That is SO wonderful to hear! That sense of interactivity, even in the videos, is something we’ve been working on trying to maintain. ~Craig

The Creative Tech webinars have been really useful for me so far. I’ve been needing to sit down and learn new software and learn more about software I already know, and this is the perfect format. Actually, at this point in my career, this is the only format I would or could use. It couldn’t be more convenient—right in my office—it’s interactive which is the best way to learn in my opinion, and they keep it entertaining. A perfect scenario for learning! The presenters are very knowledgeable and funny—a must have combination! I find the pace just right. They explain things very well and really listen to their audience by going back over things that stirred up a lot of questions.
I live in Seattle, WA and join the class at 11:00.
I hope you offer the PhotoShop class too. If so, I will definitely be signing up!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. It’s been invaluable so far!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:50 am
1. I’ve attended a number of webinars & I have to say yours is by far one of the best. Even with the basic stuff that I already know Jason takes things a step further & makes it fun & interesting.
2. Pullman, WA, Cougar Country (Go Cougs!)
3. Oh yeah, it definitely works.

I’m a freelance graphic designer. Currently I live in Madison, but I travel and move quite a lot since I have clients in different states. These online classes offer flexibility (I can participate in the classes no matter where I am) and keep me up to date with a constant software development and improvements. I’m not sure if I would be able to do it on my own. I just don’t have time for that.
I really appreciate the chance to take part in your online classes. You are doing a great work! Thanks much! I wish you’ll secure enough funds for your future work.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:53 am
I’m a freelance graphic designer in Virginia. I have taken local classes and viewed online videos but CreativeTechs is my first webinar experience, but it’s by far my favorite way to learn and I believe the most effective of them all. I’ve registered for them all!!!
I love…
- the live experience
- Q&A during & after
- Jason’s teaching style (love you too Craig!)
- relaxed, casual atmosphere
- the Free price, but also the option to purchase the videos
(which I will be purchasing some)
- if I miss a class I can purchase the missed lesson
- learning at my own computer wherever I am w/o need to ready myself and drive somewhere saving me a lot of time and hassle.
- the Retouch Tuesday webinar–have learned tons from those too!
Now that I’ve experienced CreativeTechs webinar I can’t imagine wanting to learn the other ways I’ve tried. I greatly look forward to future classes!

1) I have taken lots of classes and used training videos but never participated in a live, online course before now. The online course is less personal than an actual class, but it also lacks the stress involved with travelling to the class site, finding a parking place, struggling to get there on time, etc. Less stress makes it easier to focus on the training material.
Training videos are more convenient but not participatory. Getting the answer to a question can require a lot of digging.
The CreativeTechs online courses make it easier to stay focused. The interchange between the audience “proxy” and the person presenting the material adds a lively dimension that is much more interesting than just having a single presenter—it’s more like a talk show….
If you purchase the course recordings, you have it all—a live session where you get to have your questions answered (for the most part), a training video, and a handout you can refer to at any time.
2) I work in Tacoma and join in the live courses (InDesign and Illustrator) at 11 a.m.
3) I have enjoyed the courses immensely and found them extremely valuable. With regard to the InDesign course: although I have used computer layout programs for many years—both PageMaker and InDesign—I have learned a great deal by taking the CreativeTechs course and have increased my productivity. I came into the Illustrator course with no prior training and very little experience. After only three sessions I have a much better understanding of the program’s capabilities and how to perform basic operations that used to baffle me.
Providing the live sessions free of charge is a stoke of genius. It allows a lot of people to experience the training who might otherwise not have done it. And the price of the recordings is so reasonable that even someone with a very small training budget (like myself) can afford to purchase them.
My hat is off to CreativeTechs!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:55 am
I live in Portland, Oregon U.S.A. The online classes I have taken through Creative Tech have been excellent. I have been able to use the webinar format without any technical problems. The classes have been informal and have made me very comfortable as far as participation. I would recommend them to everyone, expecially since the “price is right.” My wife, a college professor, has written several books. My responsibility related to her writing is to use my Photoshop skills to prepare the illustrations to submit to the publishing company in proper “pre-press” format. The Creative Tech webinars have helped tremendously in increasing my skill level in computer assisted graphic design.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:58 am
I am a graphic designer from Seattle. Over the past few years, I have attended multiple CreativeTechs classes. I have also worked for several different agencies that enlisted the services of CreativeTechs. CreativeTechs is an amazingly knowledgeable and helpful company and the classes I took were very informative. I would LOVE it if CreativeTechs would offer this course, I know I would benefit from it immensely and many of my colleagues would be quite interested, too! Keep up the good work, CreativTechs!!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:58 am
What up? Been Peepin and creepin these CreativeTechs webinars for the past month or so. Chill classes, laid back and highly informative—I’ve learned much so far. Hit up the Photoshop and mini-Flash learnings and now I’m seein the Illustrator and InDesign sessions. Even though he’s into hairless cats, much props to Jason and all the staff at CreativeTechs. Thank you.
Holla back and show me some love:

I do artwork for a small hologram company in Spokane, WA. I love the online webinars for Illustrator, and I would definitely want to get in on the 6 month Photoshop sessions. It’s a great way to pick up a few tips each week to help improve my work and productivity. I might even see if we can add some other Adobe products to our software collection for other applications.

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
First of all, Jason is a master to which few can compare. To be taught by him is an amazing opportunity. The live format in which you can ask questions is great, and makes it all the more fascinating. I missed a couple classes and so I purchased the course materials. I have learned more from Jason and Craig than from any research I’ve done on my own, whether watching videos on youtube or reading books from the library. Completely and totally worth it!! Seeing things demonstrated live is so much more effective than reading about it in a book.
2. Where do you live?
Ontario, Canada.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Basically, you log on at the appointed time and listen to/watch Jason teach his lesson. If you have questions along the way, you just type them in the chat box and if Craig deems it appropriate, he interrupts Jason to ask it – right then and there. After the lesson is over, there is a chance to ask questions and Jason continues to teach while he answers them. There is nothing like it!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:08 am
I just purchased CS4 Design Premium and your classes are the answer to my needs. I live in Ashland, a small town in Southern Oregon where this type of training is not available. The quality of your instructors is very knowledgeable and the classes are great with the Q & A and handouts. Please continue the classes.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:10 am
I live in Burbank, CA. I love Creative Tech classes and the trainers. I have never taken an online class before so I can’t make any comparisons but I do love the the instructors take questions and comments real-time so people don’t forget what they want to asks. Keep up the great work and mthe excellent classes.

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I love being able to take a class from the “comfort” of my desk, instead of hauling over to a conference center. I can still go about my business as necessary, without interrupting other students, and I can catch up on anything I may have missed via the TweetChat interactive area. If I miss too much, there’s always the accompanying download to back me up. It’s perfect!
2. Where do you live?
Denver, Colorado, USA. The class I’m currently enrolled in begins at noon, so it coincides very neatly with my lunch break.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
I think this format is wonderful! It’s a pleasure to have live interaction with other designers around the world; sharing tips and tricks and problems and solutions. I’m taking my first CreativeTechs class right now, but I can guarantee that it won’t be my last. I’ve also been recommending CT classes to others in my field, and my enthusiasm is contagious!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:15 am
I hope all the feedback, plus mine, confirm to you that these courses are FABULOUS, so appreciated, so valuable. I’m participating in the InDesign and Illustrator classes now, will do the Flash and Photoshop 6 month class as well. I have been able to produce high quality flyers, sales sheets, marketing information because of what I’ve learned, as well as create and expand a graphic design toolbox for our company to use for branding.
The online live format is just as fabulous. I flip back and forth between the webinar and my CS application to follow and use what is being demonstrated, so that I retain the information well. Your trainers have been highly effective as well.
I live in St. Louis, MO, and would not have time nor financial ability to take similar classes off-site, but blocking out an hour and half in the office fits perfectly with my otherwise hectic work pace.
What can I say? I am wild about CreativeTechs. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And yes, I will be signing up for the PS 6 month class.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:15 am
The first online photoshop course provided by CreativeTech was wonderfully informative and I’m looking forward to more. I live in a small community and nothing like this is provided here. The online courses are a marvelous opportunity to learn. I especially love the fact that the courses are live and there is an opportunity for questions.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:16 am
1. I love that I can join the class from the comfort of my office and I know a bit beforehand about what will be taught during that day’s class.
2. I’m in Delaware, so I’m on Eastern time.
3. Overall it’s a great format. Sometimes the time doesn’t fit with my work schedule and sometimes I get a bit of adult-onset ADD which prevents me from sitting in front of the screen for more than 30 minutes at time, but otherwise it’s great. Even when I do get up for a few minutes and come back, I can usually just jump back in without missing a beat. I have done with Twitter chat simultaneously as well and find a lot of the tips posted there very helpful, especially if I didn’t catch what Jason said the first time around. Overall, this is a great benefit, a great format and it’s FREE!!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:17 am
I also blogged about this;) http://kahoogstad2.blogspot.com/2009/06/creative-techs.html
June 29th, 2009 at 8:18 am
I am a freelance graphic designer, trying to compete in this big world with whatever limited skills I learned while working in a print shop. Most things I have had to teach myself, and the Illustrator class has already filled in many blanks so far! It’s been wonderful, being able to ask the instructor as it’s being shown, which is actually more than could be done while sitting in a class room. Please, PLEASE offer the Photoshop class in the same way — with the economy as it is, business is down as well as funds available for training. Free is SO much appreciated at this time!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:20 am
The live demos are great, well worth the time. I follow along by applying the lesson as you talk. The entire class may not be new for me, but I always logoff having learned something new. As a graphic designer with a tiny budget for training, I am thrilled to be able to take your classes. Photoshop is my weak link, so it would be fantastic to have that as a class offering.
I live in Westford, MA, so I catch your webinars at 2:00 pm
The worldwide format works great for me. I can’t always hang on to the end of all the questions, which is disappointing as I assume I miss something new to learn.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:22 am
I’m a graphic designer in Fairbanks, Alaska. Travel from here can be quite expensive, so being able to learn in real time without leaving the office is a HUGE bonus. Another benefit to the CreativeTechs training approach is that you can interact with the presenters and fellow participants like one would at an in-person training or conference, even though it’s online. You can get your questions answered almost immediately and get tips galore too! It also helps that the CreativeTechs team is friendly and available (via e-mail, Twitter, etc.) to share additional information or ask follow-up questions. Finally, the price for the downloads of recorded training sessions is SO reasonable, especially compared to some other trainings available.
In short, these are GREAT training opportunities. Please keep ‘em coming!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:28 am
These classes are fantastic! I listen to them while working and I always find myself flipping back to watch. Each class is packed with information. I’ve learned many time-saving tips which alone make the format worthwhile.
I hate missing a class making the downloads a must.
Its 12:30 in Toronto… only an hour and 30 minutes before the next Illustrator class starts…
June 29th, 2009 at 8:28 am
Craig, keep up the good work. I love being able to take your classes from my home office here in Issaquah, WA. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:29 am
The Creative Techniques classes are not videos, so there is a structure, a schedule, and a time frame. If you don’t show up, you don’t get it. With a video, it can always be put off until tomorrow. At the same time, you don’t waste any time getting ready: getting there, finding a parking space, putting away your coat. Sit down at your desk and the class begins.
I live in Seattle, but the beauty of these things is that that doesn’t matter. All that’s required is that I know about it and have access to the Internet. It’s brilliant, really. I hope you guys are able to keep this going. It’s been really REALLY helpful.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:29 am
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
It is hard to pick exactly what makes CT’s training so good. Having a very knowledgeable person with practical experience guiding you through things is great. Certainly actually having input from the class is wonderful. It is so good, I actually purchased the PS course for learning purposes. I hate writing replies to survey’s, but this concept is so helpful in learning, I am willing to write to help keep the projects going.
2. Where do you live?
Virginia
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
The live format is wonderful. One of the big pluses of the learning process. The retouch Tuesday classes, always seem to conflict with something, but I make the effort to watch them. Regardless of what time you have them I will make an effort to watch.
Final thought, I have been in the computer industry for close to 20 years, and this CreativeTech training is some of the best I have seen, from free to hundreds of dollars. PLEASE KEEP DOING IT!!!!!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:30 am
The CreativeTechs webinars are not only ultra convenient, but the instruction is engaging and very entertaining. Having spent many days (and dollars) on numerous seminars and workshops over the years, where I’ve walked away thinking, “huh?” — I can only say I’ve had quite the opposite feeling each time I’ve participated in one of your webinars.
I’ve given you numerous shoutouts on Twitter and hope it’s helped expand your audience. I’m here in Seattle, but if you go to http://tweetstats.com/ and type in creativetechs, you’ll be able to see at a glance where in the world your tweeple are situated. I’m sure you’ll be blown away to see your reach.
Finally, I’ve purchased all of the webinars I’ve actively watched. They are more than worth the purchase price, and I feel lucky to be able to continue learning and have your incredible classes available to me whenever I want to review them.
Thank you so much for putting together such informative, accessible content!

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Your classes are great. The presentation is relaxed and humorous. The things you present seem to be chosen carefully to be the most useful, not just the most geeky. I also subscribe to Lynda.com, but I think your presentations are much better…your voice alone is a plus. I pay for the videos so I can have a backup and think they’re a great value. I would attend and purchase a photoshop class. I use photoshop in only a limited way and my biggest headache is clipping paths.
2. Where do you live? I’m on the Gulf coast of Texas near Galveston. However, my clients are all in Seattle or Olympia, so I work on west coast time. If you have a kid born in the state of Washington you get my stuff in the mail until they are six. CHILD Profile is mine!
3. Does this live worldwide format really work? It seems that it’s a problem for some places in the world because of time differences. But quite honestly, I can’t retain everything I hear in an hour and you have made the price of the downloads so reasonable that I think you’ve done very well at accommodating the world audience. I tried following the twitter comments and found it way too distracting. I’m very glad you hold questions until the end. Some of the questions can be tedious and some seem a bit disingenuous…ah the difficulties of human nature. But your attempts to respond to all is impressive.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:32 am
I Love the Webinars! I can’t tell you how much I have learned from you.
I find it amazing that you share so much and ask for nothing in return. I did buy the last set of “Photoshop Webinars” so I could watch them over again when I had time.
Keep up the good work!!!
Regards from Michigan

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
. As a long time Adobe user, (1992), watching the live classes, I’m always seeing a new tip or trick that helps me keep up with the ever changing upgrades and how to use the the newer tools. Not only do you provide the live class, but you also have a taped tutorials at a very reasonable cost. Which I plan to purchase for the programs I am unfamiliar with such as Flash and DreamWeaver. (PS a program like Retuouch Tuesdays for Web design would be great. Being a print gal all my life, I’m forced to learn how to produce web pages. Seeing how one makes simple pages using all the most efficient programs would be so beneficial to me and hopefully others )
Live, makes you feel like your participating. Craig and Jason make a really good team. Jason explains the process very well, while Craig fields questions and addresses things that may not me so clear. You can type in questions and comments, twitter with members from all over the world. The live class shows real problems solving and of course, Jason’s human side
2. Where do you live?
Salt Lake City UT
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It works for me. It feels small and one on one even though there are people listing in from all over the world, which is kind of exciting. As I mentioned in the first question, you can type in questions and comments, twitter with members from all over the world.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:40 am
I’ve ben a design for over 20 years, yes that means I started in the paste-up days. When I made the switch to doing everything by computer if I had classes like CreativeTechs it would of been a lot easier. I have attended a few classes now and I can’t say enough about how much I love them. The interactivity over the web, between teachers and students and between attendees themselves, makes this course so much more informative and fun. I long from Utah and the connection with people all over the world makes for a much more well rounded and in-depth experience.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:41 am
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
The entire approach is unique. First, they’re not afraid to offer free classes. That’s huge, and demonstrates their commitment. The live format is fun and easy. They’re extremely well prepared and as each week passes, it’s apparent they’re learning and growing with the experience. I am an independent graphic designer, trainer and support specialist who really appreciates the amount of work that goes into just one class. I love to learn and teach. It’s obvious they do too.
2. Where do you live?
I’m in Anchorage, Alaska.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
I have to offer a resounding YES! My own focus is on specialized training. I discovered early in my career that classrooms and seminars do not offer the personal experience I want. Craig and Jason figured out how to do this … to 1000 folks each time! They have the formula. I can only see it getting better with time.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:42 am
I whole-heartily submit my endorsement of your teaching Webinars. I am from Miami. The classes are highly informative, I bought all the lessons at the beginning for $50 which I found very reasonable. Whenever I had a problem or question I was able to reach some one at
CreativeTechs and my question or problem was immediately handled. I am happy to take this opportunity to thank you for all your efforts.

The course provided by CreativeTech is informative and well formatted. I live in Brazil, where the courses are expensives.
For me, after Photoshop Course, the Retouch Tuesdays are a marvelous opportunity to learn for free, and makes my business grows-up.
The live format is great, and makes it all the more fascinating. Jason, Craig and the worldwide audience (at tweetchat), maintain the interest with the live feedback of the doubts, and I have learned more from Creativetechs Courses than from any research I’ve done on my own, whether watching videos on youtube, reading books from the library, or attending local seminars.
Keep sharing!

1) What makes this class different? Jason is very easy to follow along with his instructions. He explains many techniques and short cuts as he uses them. The true difference is that CreativeTechs has become part of my family. There is learning, enjoyment, often laughter over mistakes made, getting to know the instructors more personally, learinging their personality and being able to see them in person. This puts together a “highly respected person” not just an unknown identity speaking instructions.
2) I live in Kansas and I join the classes at 1:00 pm Central Time.
3) The worldwide format is wonderful. It enables real time video training. It is live as it is being created. I feel as if I am sitting in a very large classroom at the largest university in the world with students of all cultures. This includes mistakes and all. That is what makes Creativetechs like a family. We see all their mistakes and how they are corrected. It is not something prepacked, then posted on the interent to view. Creativetechs has taught me more than any other method of learning Adobe Products.
4) When they offer a course, I sign up for it. It doesn’t matter if I do not currently own or use the software. I will purchase it for the training they offer. When they offer a new course, I share the information with all my friends and groups. Creativetechs is the largest asset to own Adobe Products. When the course’s are completed, I purchase the video package. $50 is inexpensive for the comple course package as compared to the large amount of money I have spent on other training products.
CreativeTech, I applaud you with joy. As long as you offer these courses, I will continue to follow.
June 29th, 2009 at 8:50 am
Thank you, Craig and Jason! These are the BEST classes. Having someone SHOW you things is a million times better than a book, and the ability to have questions answered is the icing on the cake. I live in Seattle, but attending class in my bunny slippers is perfect for me. Jason is a truly first-class instructor, and I’ve had many, with interest and knowledge about his subjects that is a mile wide and deep. Plus humor! What could be better?
June 29th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Yes, these courses are excellent. I appreciate the “firing-from-the-hip” feel of them – makes them authentic, like what you would expect in a real classroom setting. But I can attend from the convenience of my desk. This is perhaps the best approach to online instruction I have ever experienced – and of course the FREE part is an easy sell to get others excited!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:01 am
Another point in favor of CreativeTechs online courses:
THEY ARE GREEN!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:05 am
These classes rock technically and in presentation. Lots of people
get how to do these things themselves but fall down when it comes to explaining it so that you can do it yourself. I’ve taken several classes and believe wholeheartedly in these classes, whether in person or via the Net. The idea of doing a 6 month Photoshop class — FREE! — is incredibly appealing at this level of quality and competence. I’m a CD in Seattle. I think growing technically is kind of like Woody Allen’s comment about sharks having to swim forward or die. Keep swimming with some super swim-fins from CreativeTechs.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:06 am
I am so excited to see the worldwide classroom take place! Where do I sign up for the 6 month Photoshop Course??? I can not wait to share this with my friends. Creativetechs courses are a personal interaction with the student It is invigorating to share the knowledge that this “schoolhouse” will be created. You should not have to prove the worthiness for partnerships. They should be knocking on your door to participate. The worldwide exposure their products would receive is outstanding. The world is anxiously waiting.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:09 am
The live webinars are just the greatest idea! I am a designer in Seattle and have participated in the Photoshop as well as InDesign courses. Since I am out of the office sometimes, I buy the courses to fill in if I miss one, which is great!
The live experience is fresh and I don’t know how they do it but if I ask a question, it is usually answered! Amazing.
Thanks!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:22 am
I’m a Washington native, but I can’t make it up to CT’s classroom…that’s why I LOVE the convenience of their webinars! The idea and ambition of a 6 month Photoshop class is incredible! I’ve been to one day seminars where you just get mentally exhausted, but with CreativeTech’s approach of weekly sessions, I retain more knowledge; actually get my own questions answered; and genuinely enjoy the instructional team! Truly the best classes I’ve ever experienced. Thanks for all the hard work, guys!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:28 am
I think the courses you offer are well organized full of valuable and relevant information. The variety of people from around the world allows a variety of cultures and design values to be brought into the question and answer sessions. I live in Seattle, WA. I like the flexibility in taking the classes online. It makes scheduling the time for the class easy.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:28 am
As an enrollee approaching week 8 of the 10-week InDesign class, I can honestly say it has been a very worthwhile use of my time. I have learned many tips and tricks that will enable me to be more productive on my projects. The combination of live instruction, downloadable handouts and video subscriptions allow a student to learn at their own pace and in their own learning style. As one who has tried the in-class, traditional approach, I can say that I much prefer the online instruction. For example, I can pause the videos to practice the techniques before continuing to the next topic. Thank you for this opportunity to sing the praises of CreativeTechs webinars and I look forward to enrolling in future offerings.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:30 am
I am a graphic designer in Los Angeles with over 15 years experience. My goal within the last months has been to update my software skill sets, which with the CS4 suite has become a huge undertaking. I have completed classes (UCLA) and I’m a premium Lynda.com subscriber, but NOTHING has been as helpful as Creative Techs webinars. The quick, concise and insightful workflow application and “tips” are a phenemonal. I get so much more out of the ‘hands on’ approach vs. digital videos that seem so static and dull, i find myself glazing over rather than listening. The ‘live’ aspect is witty, fun, and again, SO insightful.
I just purchased the Illustrator bundle as I want to be able to revisit the sessions.
I have recommended Creative Techs to a number of colleagues.
Looking forward to new titles …CSS? XML? Dreamweaver? Action Script 3-4?
Thanks for such an incredible service!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:31 am
I live in Denver, Colorado. I have been taking the Creative Techs classes for a couple months now. I love this live format – you feel like your are right there in the classroom. It is easy to follow along, ask questions, comment, and receive answers. Every class I’m taking is excellent! I’ve never used this program before. I’m a beginner at this, just receiving and installing my Adobe CS4 suite. These classes are great for me because they are taught step by step from the beginning. I wasn’t sure where to start, but found Creative Techs through web searching.
It’s great to find such good instructors and classes available – FREE! However, I do like to refer back, so the low fee for the downloads is a great deal.
I am looking for to the new 6 month Photoshop course.
Thank you CREATIVE TECHS for this amazing opportunity that you have made available to everyone.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:34 am
I am taking the illustrator 10 weeks course on line. So far it has been working out really great! it is worth the time and it is very clear and helpful. I have tried to learn all the adobe programs on my own… i bought books CD’s and all that and i did learn something but this course is great because u can ask questions if you don’t understand something and the video part helps a lot!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:38 am
I’ve taken a wide variety of online courses as well as pursued a Masters Degree in Online Education and these classes, by far, exhibit the key principles that are inherent in effective online learning. I was also an instructor for several years at a training center in the SF Bay Area and here are the main points that stand out when I consider the overall effectiveness of the Creative Techs training classes:
1} They are well thought out and well communicated: with the curriculum presented in advance and followed throughout the course.
2} They are very engaging and use a variety of learning styles to ensure that all participants get the opportunity to learn according to the method best for them. For example, students who learn best via audio can hear the instructor’s voice; students who learn best kinesthetically {hands on} get the chance to folllow along, practicing on their own computers; students who are inclined to learn mostly through reading words can use the optional handouts and well as chat online in TweetChat with other students and a facilitator.
3} Classes that address students with a wide range of skill sets can be challenging for an instructor to effectively teach. The instructors at Creative Techs handle this with aplomb – they have the patience, expertise and desire to educate and facilitate the growth of their students.
4} They make it fun! This is so overlooked and yet really so important in both capturing and keeping a student’s attention in a world where focus is becoming more and more valuable and yet harder and harder to come by.
As a student of the world and an owner of a graphic/web design business which targets small businesses I have been able to both acquire and put to immediate use the skills that I have learned in the online courses I have taken. They are of the highest quality and I cannot speak highly enough about the CT team – if I lived in Seattle, {I am currently based in Sacramento, CA} I would be at the CT HQ weekly bringing tasty treats in gratitude for my educational partners!
Please keep up not only the fantastic work but being a leader in a field which is in great demand for quality education as well as a high level of accessiblity to a wide range of people.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:38 am
Wicked Awesome… my skills improve after each webinar. Please keep up the great work.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:42 am
You guys are AMAZING! Currently, I am a full time Web Designer in Orange County, California. I have yet to take a class of yours but that’s soon to change since I’ve already signed up for next months’ FLASH course but I do hope to sharpen my Photoshop skills with a 6 month course! YOU GUYS ROCK! And Seattle RULES! I miss my home town!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:45 am
I live in Seattle, and have very much appreciated the online courses (and have purchased the downloads). Positive aspects include: Knowledgeable presenter – great learning tool for new programs, and even with the programs I already use, I almost always come away with new tips at the very least. Style of presentation – appreciate the humor, and the ability to submit questions/get answers in real-time. Accessibility – when I can’t “attend” the webinar live, I can still get the information via the downloads, later, and watch at my convenience – this is especially helpful during summer! Fab concept — congrats on a very out of the box idea, and for running with it. way cool, and thank you!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:46 am
I live in New York, United States of America.
As a retired teacher, who taught high school for thirty (30) years, I have found your courses to be personable, informative and lively.
You are definitely at the forefront of what will be the future trend in education. This is the way education, both for adults and in areas where a brick and mortar buildings are not available will be available for educating the world’s citizenry and building the global village.
I would be interested in your six (6) week Photoshop course and would be willing to pay for downloading the lessons.
Keep up the good work.

June 29th, 2009 at 9:49 am
I have taken some of the on-line classes so I have firsthand experience. And that experience has been great. I can attend anywhere I have a computer / laptop and an internet connection. Which is almost always. Keep up the great work.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:49 am
Though I’m right here in Seattle, I love the webinar format because it allows me to maximize my time (and stay in my jammies). The hour long format is perfect. Every week I learn new tips and tricks and even though I consider myself to be an experienced user of graphics applications, the people at Creative Techs always take me deeper into the software and that’s fantastic. Having the downloads to refer to later is a big help. Creative Techs goes above and beyond with their extended Q&A sessions.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:53 am
It’s really tough to take your courses during the week when I’m SUPPOSED to be working. If i try to listen in WHILE i’m working it’s tough because my focus is split. The only solution is to take time off work, which is tough. thanks, I really appreciate the free courses and email tips.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:54 am
Your webinar classes are totally awesome. I tune in when I have the opportunity, but really appreciate the option to download the videos to view at my convenience. Some workdays just don’t allow me to tune in to the live class. I live in western Kansas and the availability of training sessions are limited to non-existent. The time away from the office to attend trainings is a real inconvenience. Budget restraints also put limitations on the opportunities to travel and expand my knowledge base.
Interaction with the audience in class and online makes your training sessions more personal instead of just viewing a training video.
Webinar classes are a definite advantage for employee training and keeping costs at a minimum. You’ve got my vote for continuing with your online training format.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:59 am
I’m a graphic designer for a college and seminary in California. My boss and I are both taking the classes and we passed the info on to the web development department as well. Keep offering classes and we’ll keep participating. Wish we were there in person. BTW, it’s 100 degrees here today. Good to be indoors.
June 29th, 2009 at 10:00 am
It´s practical, effective, fun, useful… it´s great!
I am in Barcelona, Spain, and every Monday at 8pm I have an appointment with creativetechs:.
All good things about the Webinar…It works fine!:..
Thank you guys!

the classes via webinar with the ability to “chat” via the webinar software or twitter makes it interactive — the ability to ask questions and get answers over such a long distance is great.
i.e — last week’s Twinkie Fire is a good example.
the casual nature of the class makes it fun too.
I’m in northwestern central Wisconsin … about 10 miles from the MN border and 5 miles south of where “Up North” supposedly is considered to start.
I think a world-wide “classroom: makes lots of sense and seems to work. But ask the out-of-the-US attendees for the best feedback on that issue.
a PhotoShop class would be FABULOUS.

Of course I am interested, who wouldn’t be.
I attended from the first episode of the 10 week Photshop course and have been following up with the ‘Retouch Tuesdays’. It was informative, relaxed, friendly and inspirational. I am in my 60′s, self-taught, running CS2 on a PC and a laptop. If I can follow the sessions then todays switched on ‘techies’ should find it very easy going.
I live in north Wales, UK and the classes are as though I am in the same room as Jason. OK – there have been 1 or 2 glitches but that’s ‘live’ tuition for you – great fun.
The PS classes started at 7pm local time and ‘Retouch’ doesn’t start till 11pm but I look forward to each week as I ALWAYS learn something new or helpful.
Keep up the great work guys.

Rave reviews for the 10-week photoshop and InDesign classes. The ID class was a little too basic for me, but I still learned somed cool tips.
LOVE that they are only an hour per week! I’ve done in-person courses and by the end of 8-hours you don’t remember anything. And I can easily take an hour per week for education.
LOVE that they are only 10-weeks each.
LOVE that they are free. My AIDS service agency has no money. And I love that I could buy any piece or whole set when done.
Your live format is much more engaging than more formal/stiff/uptight pre-packaged online trainings. Also, I like that I can do other things on my computer at times when you are covering something I already know.
I live in San Francisco–same time zone as you. That’s not always the most convenient, but it’s a small price to pay for all the good things.
I like knowing that I am online with hundreds of other people from all over the world, but it would not be a deal breaker if that was no longer the case.
OK, now after all the raves and lovey stuff, let me put in my two cents AGAINST doing a six month course. Too long, too long. I need to take a vacation or have other obligations. It’s easy to plan in 10-week chunks, but six months is too far out. How about breaking the six months into 10-week chunks? Or offer a detailed summary of what will be covered in each class so viewers can attend only the classes that interest them.
Thanks for all your great work. I’ve been reading the weekly tips for years and I love the classes I’ve taken.

I live in the North Georgia Mountains and getting to classes makes it a bit difficult as well as costly. The series of classes that you guys have been offering are top notch and very user friendly. They make learning fun again.
June 29th, 2009 at 10:18 am
greetings from northern california!
i’ve taken several of the ‘webinars’ and am quite enthusiastic about them. It’s great being able to follow along from the comfort of home; the instructors are great, the curriculum is logical and clear. even better, if there’s something I don’t quite understand 100% or have forgotten a few weeks later, there are the downloads so I can “review” and actual class instead of trying to decipher my notes.
obviously i’m looking forward to more online classes!

Illustrator course is excellent!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 10:32 am
Fantastic, better than some of the onsite classes we have organized here. I have purchased all the courses, they will be valuable tools for new incoming designers. I use InDesign and Photoshop on a daily basis, thought I knew the program better than most – was I wrong. I was amazed at how much I learned and how much more efficient I was once I implemented the new knowledge into my workflow.
This is a gem, thank you for sharing your expertise the presenters have all be fabulous. I look forward to each class.
June 29th, 2009 at 10:34 am
I was put onto the PS course back in week 2 of the course by my friends back in Glasgow, Scotland. The way that the classes are structured provide an ideal environment for learning but the way in which they are conducted, i.e real time questions and answers mean that people with experience of working with the programs learn alongside the novices.
Nothing much else to add. Looking forward to all future seminars.

I really like the webinar format model you are using for Retouch Tuesday – it’s free, it’s at a convenient time (6 p.m. EDT/Washington, DC), it’s real world stuff (you use our photographs), it’s substantive, instructive and a productive use of my time; and you have great followup (videos to download). Jason’s highly informative yet collegial tutorials and Craig’s personable communication skills (OK, and knowledge, too!) work well together. I hope you will include the stock photo as part of Retouch Tuesdays; maybe designate stock as one of the three photos each week? I attended the 10-week Photoshop online class, and am glad I did, and I look forward to the 5-week-a-time topic approach. Thanks for a great(!) job you are doing all across the board.

1) Creative Techs Streaming Live instruction is ideal and the instructors I’ve experienced so far are incredibly knowledgeable and can pass that on effectively. The live demos and instructor describing as we go along is fantastic and more effective than any book filled with examples that I’ve used in the past. The Q&A afterward is also extremely beneficial. The option to purchase each session gives the opportunity to take the info and instruction and go through it all again and again and again
2) West Lafayette, Indiana. I tune in at 2pm EST and count this course as a Continuing Ed training.
3) From the comfort of my own office, I can hook up my headphones, click into the Webinar and engage in a seriously educational and entertaining experience. Having the moderator following the Q&A realtime allows for timely interjection so that the instructor can clarify or ‘reperform’ any action or edit to show the audience again how it’s done. The Q&A after the main class ends is often just as informative as the teaching component. The instructor answers the questions usually with a demo of the concept as he’s answering the question. This format is perfect for me – I can multi-task while enjoying this educational experience, I’m in my own office space and it’s free. Perfect!

I have just found this site and it looks great with online training!
I will possible follow this 6 month course, at least download the follow up. I live i Sweden.

1. The difference in the way CreativeTechs does differently from most of online courses I have done is the live feed, on the spot, live and you get to ask questions throughout the lesson. Most of the online courses I have tried are either written out or videos, not live feeds.
2. Iceland
3. This format works fantastically for me. The time it is on is about 6pm in Iceland and that works fine, I just plan a little ahead to get home from work in time
I love being able to just sit in pease and listen and watch the lessons. Ask my questions when they come to mind and this format works way better for me than having to go someplace to do them. Being able to do this from either my computer or from work is great and makes life so much easier for me.
You just sit down and log in and that webinar is bullet proof easy to work with. The resolution of the live feed is great and it basically feels like sitting the the class for real. The teachers know their stuff and make things quite easy to understand. Also being able to buy the downloads and handouts for a very reasonable price is an great option and that was a big bonus for me as I tend to go back to them for references
June 29th, 2009 at 11:19 am
Thank you CREATIVE TECHS for dreaming up this incredible format for learning, and thanks even more for making it affordable, convenient, and high quality while providing a relaxed, informal, fun atmosphere. I like the fact that one does not feel that the classes have been “dumbed-down”, yet they are easy for a novice to follow. This format has been a great help to me and a boost to my creative confidence.
The high quality of instruction and depth of knowledge from the instructors are commendable. I purchased the photoshop course and plan to also purchase the illustrator course. I am very excited to learn there may be a more in-depth Photoshop course in the future. The program is so deep and the longer format and repeated classes will facilitate learning.
I live in San Diego and the 11:00 a.m. time has worked well for me.
I have not been able to attend some of the other classes that you have offered, due to demands on my time. However my intention is to sign up and take as many of your classes as I am able. It is encouraging to know that the classes will/can be repeated.
I think the world-wide class is wonderful. I have not made use of the twitter options as I am focusing on the lesson. Most of the time my questions are answered within the class or during the Q&A.
I bought the full blown CS-4 package, so I look forward to attending your classes for a long time to come. I think that the idea for these courses are brilliant. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Creative Techs!
June 29th, 2009 at 11:20 am
I haven’t experienced a class from CreativeTechs but I’ve signed up for the Flash course and am really looking forward to it. If you set up a course for PhotoShop, count me in!
June 29th, 2009 at 11:21 am
1. The Creative Tech’s approach to training is unique in several ways. First, the curriculum is spot on in it’s ability to extract the most salient topics related to CS and convey this information in a clear, meaningful and enjoyable format to students. Second, the organic nature of the online class format allows students to make a connection with both the material and the presenters. These two combined qualities are hard to find in today’s online classroom experience.
2. I enjoy the classes from lovely Long Beach, CA at either 3p (retouch Tues), or 11am (psd and indd).
3. The synergy between students, Jason and Craig during this online experience is truly magical. The presenters expertly juggle the tasks of teaching and managing the class; making topics clear and understandable while at the same time fielding student questions and concerns. By the end of a class I feel like I’ve attended a comedy hour, magic show and rigorous training class all rolled into one. At that point I’m raring to attack any Photoshop or Indesign challenge that’s thrown my way.
June 29th, 2009 at 11:24 am
The Creative Techs webinars are a godsend for someone like me–a part-time professional photographer, who also works from home doing photo editing and exhibits production. Like many, I have been cutting back every way possible, so the fact that the lessons are free makes it easy to commit to. And I do have the option to purchase all weeks’ classes at a discount; I can “attend” from the privacy and comfort of my home office, allowing me to be more efficient in my work; I can take advantage of the weeks that are most relevant to my needs. Plus, the instructors are great–expert, professional, and personable. Instead of fumbling through thick instruction books, I can get the info I need in a much more interactive and efficient way. Thanks Craig–keep ‘em coming!
June 29th, 2009 at 11:39 am
This is a very intensive course that beginners have some difficulty following – if it weren’t for the downloaded repeats I doubt that they would continue. For myself (8-9 years Photoshop experience and giving part-time tuition) it has not proved difficult – and a chance to partake in a classroom environment is quite novel – certainly on-line. An American accent over here is a mixed blessing – some like it, others prefer a more “English” approach.
I live in UK which causes problems of timing – it’s dinner, evening meal, time over here, and many of us have evening commitments. I only managed one session right through and that was spoiled by sound problems! So back to the downloads…
Does this live format work? Yes, very well. Language is always a problem – English is almost universal but we all have our own versions, even different words for the same thing. Getting incoming questions vetted before being put to the tutor is essential – and is very well managed.
A great course – not sure many of us are ready immediately for the advanced stuff.
June 29th, 2009 at 11:59 am
1. How CT differs? I am presently taking classes online with Santa Monica College also. There is no comparison. You are heads over all of them!! You are engaging, funny, give info that is easy to understand, the ‘tag team’ of teacher/moderator is very engaging. The interaction with class is easy for anyone to do. Your use of using ‘Go To meeting’ is brilliant.
The information I can learn from you is totally up-to-date. The ‘hardshell schools’ can’t be up with the latest programs. Then there is that ‘thing’…..you obviously ENJOY it!! This is contagious, the class feels your enthusiasm.
2. West Hollywood, CA
3. I think the WW format is exciting and enlightening! We all tend to isolate…..this encourages us to realize the world outside is larger than just our little world.
I am so looking forward to 6 months of Photoshop!! Thank you for being there.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
My co-designer and I love these webinars. We learn always learn something new and look forward to them every week. They force us to take time out and focus on becoming better at the programs we use every day, which in turn helps us do our jobs more efficiently (we watch them together projected on our large SmartBoard). Even if we only learn one thing, it is usually something very helpful and learning that one thing made the class worth our time.
We also get the downloads so we can go back and watch when time allows. The instruction is easy to follow and Jason Hoppe has been a great teacher.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
CreativeTechs online classes are different from other online courses I’ve taken, because the instructors have great personalities and are funny and informative at the same time.
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and I think it’s very cool that I can take a course based in Seattle from here.
I love the idea of a live world-wide format because it’s a great opportunity to learn from all kinds of people from various backgrounds.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
These classes have become addicting for me. I schedule time during the day to watch these classes and even though I had a splitting headache today, I didn’t want to not watch the class and stayed with it from beginning to end. I have learned something in every class and look forward to the next one.
The community that has developed with my classmates is really great. I enjoy being in the classes and following along with the simultaneous conversation that is happening on Twitter. Everyone can ask questions, answer questions and offer tips.
The entire experience is great. I recommend it to everyone.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
I’ve only done the illustrator online classes but I think they’re amazing. I’ve been using illustrator for over 10 years and I’ve learnt something new in every class so far. I’ve had direct feedback from Steve at least twice via the interative Q&A window before I signed up to twitter. The twitter input is great for feedback from other interested individuals which means you got lots of points of view and levels of experience.
I’m in London and I plug in between 7 and 9 pm on a monday evening. This evening I missed the first hour but am sure the video link I receive tomorrow will make up for that.
I’m signed up for the Flash course starting in a few weeks and would love to do the other packages I’ve missed too – I hope they come round again. I’ve recommended these classes to lots of my colleagues. Every Tuesday they have to listen to me raving about what I learnt yesterday.
Many thanks.

I’ve taken (and bought the recordings of) the Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator courses and can’t wait for Flash. I own all these programs and have been using them for years. The quality of the teaching is first rate.
The webineer classes are fantastic. It feels as if you are in an actual class room with both instruction and interaction going on. When the moderator detects that people are having a hard time understanding a concept he immediately jumps in and the instructor reexplains it. It’s great that we can ask questions and get real life problems solved by an expert.
I live in western Pennsylvania and I am spreading the word, letting people know about this great opportunity to learn pro tips that can be put to use.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
1. I think we can ALL agree that having this FREE training is the best of all.
I’ve been using Adobe programs for over two decades, and I have to say that the way the classes are being offered are simple and easy to follow. Currently running CS3.
If you are a first timer, better get the downloads and practice, practice, practice. Making the study materials available at a low cost is also a great service. Being able to ask questions gives the classroom experience!
You guys are great, friendly and approachable.
2. Where do you live?
California, 11am usually.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It does, I can call myself well versed in the programs, and through tweeter I think others can ask questions among themselves and form groups. I’m still working on that tweeter thing!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
Your live webinars are excellent. The fact that it is live and not rehearsed adds much to the real time class room setting. You guys are giving instruction, making mistakes, and learning all at the same time. Sometimes you have technology problems (don’t we all) and sometimes the neighbor’s house next door catches fire and the twinkies get overcooked. Life happens. As a tutor and TA at Bellevue College, I know students like to see that we are human and also experience technical difficulties. I’m not sure what your target audience is but these are not for the novice. However, anyone who has had a class in the particular webinar should have no problem keeping up.
I live in North Bend, WA, so I’m not far. The Adobe campus and the training rooms are second to none. I would advise to anyone to go to the user groups if they can get to Fremont.
These webinars are an excellent experience. All done in real time, real mistakes are made, real solutions are found, and chat questions are answered. A far cry from some impersonal lecture hall. As interactive as can be done with 1000 participants. All you need is a universal language translator.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
I stumbled across your site by accident. I love your classes and recommend them to everyone. They are a great refresher course and very addicting. Can’t wait for Flash and Dreamweaver which I have very little knowledge of.
Thanks a bunch!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:20 pm
I’m a long time graphic designer, but after the first time taking the Ai class last week. I still can learn some new things. I hope you guys continue on. Thought check it out while waiting for the Flash class, but now I’m hooked.
My time is flexible now, since I’m freelance only. I’ll sadly miss your class if I go do a full-time job. Things are though around here, NYC. May be a weekends class in the future?
Worldwide format is great!
Thank you for the opportunity. Will look forward for the PSD class.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Absolutely Yes to a PS CS4. posted this on wrong site earlier.
I have used PS Elements 3,5,7. Basic & seldom. Just acquired PS CS4. Pay $32.50/mth for Lynda’s tutorials, & $99.00 for Photoshop Elements Techniques. Your live interactive learning approach is like (better then) attending a graduate school level course in Computer Science, and I have 2 MS in CS. I attend all your classes even those that I do not use, as with Adobe the concepts are so often transferable within the CS family.
From Hawaii but now living in Ocala, FL with my Son. I am 79 yrs, with Alzheimer’s. I use the graphic programs to challenge and stimulate my mind. Use it or Lose it. Until I returned to the PC I could not dial the phone. The Real-Time interactive format you offer grabs and holds the learner like NO static tutorial could ever do, regardless of quality. Cost of lesson to practice what you have experienced makes them the BEST value on the Internet. I am very greatfull for your generosity in the free sessions. Live on food stamps but will purchase the full PS course 8/4 when the SS check arrives. Thanks again, Tom Tracy
June 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
I’m a graphic designer and although I’m more or less very good at Adobe apps your trainings are a great refresher and I still learn new things.
What makes them different – I never took an online class but I did a lot of Lynda.com trainings and what I love about your trainings is that they are free, great quality and interactive (you feel a part of it).
Other things I like – the tutors are true experts and topics we go trough are very thoroughly discussed. And they make jokes so it feels very relaxed.
Im from Slovenia (Europe) and the classes start at 8 pm in my time. Its the perfect time for me.
Live worldwide format – I would say it works great, as I said I feel a part of the class and if I want to ask a question I can. Because of that it all feels more personal than training DVDs.
That’s it from me, I’m really grateful for the classes, I’m already taking InDesign and Illustrator and I’m looking forward to Flash and Dreamweaver, which I really need to learn.
PS; the new Photoshop class sounds super great, especially the advanced part.
I wish you a lot of success and again, a huge thank you for giving these great classes for free.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
I am in Toronto, Canada and I have taken two of the courses so far, also signed up for the next course. These are very good courses and a lot of materials are covered at each sessions. (Excellent business strategy) this encouraged me to purchase the videos to go back in order to digest all materials that I missed or forgot. If the Photoshop course is offered I would definitely take it since I have lots of questions to ask and learn – I would buy the videos without delay.
Thanks for doing such a great job.

1. I participated in the 10 week photoshop Webinar. The experience was wonderful! Unlike a traditional course, I was not required to be at a specified location to attend class. It was beneficial to know that I could purchase the recording for any lessons I missed.
2. I live outside Baltimore, Maryland, USA. I participated in the workshop on Thursday afternoons at 2 pm. As a professional photographer, I found the course extremely valuable. While I was familiar with many of the concepts, there were enough instances where I learned shortcuts or other techniquest to make the webinars well worth my time.
3. The format for the experience was great! The online twitter interaction meant that the course was interactive, and Jason was addressing questions from the audience. The webinar enabled me to view Jason’s visuals and computer screen, to hear his explanations, and have my own computer file open to be multitasking and doing the same thing he was explaining while he was doing it. This helped me to learn the material MUCH more effectively. Unlike attending a live seminar, there was no need to shut down which makes this format preferable to in person instruction for me.
Thanks so much for sharing such a WONDERFUL wealth of knowledge for free! I look forward to future classes.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
I am a free lance photographer/graphic designer and live in Michigan and attended the Photoshop CS4 class in the spring. It was very interesting, and even though the first 5 weeks were well below my personal level, I was able to pick up a few extra tips and keyboard shortcuts to streamline my workflow. I did enjoy the platform and Jason’s way of explaining what he was doing. The only thing I would LOVE to see added, is some ‘homework’ maybe in the form of a no-pressure contest or something. After all, seeing and doing are two completely different things!
Thank you for keeping these classes FREE. Many of us in Michigan have been unemployed for some time, so the money just isn’t there for extras right now!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I would love to see a Flash course offered someday!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
I’ve never attended a webinar before. But you make it soo easy! Step by step and everything works fine. I especially appreciate that it is LIVE, with all the “oh, I forgot to click on that…”-things that simply happen. So we can learn a few things just “by the way”. Makes it personal.
And Flash will follow!
I attend the Illustrator class at 8.00 pm from Berlin/Germany. Perfect time for me
Thanks for making this possible!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:45 pm
I love the CreativeTechs webinars – they’re just the right mix of interaction. Other online trainings either have too little (you just watch a pre-recorded video) or too much (i.e. you are required to participate in order to receive a certification and usually pay an expensive price for a certification). As a newbie, I am happy with the pace and content provided. I was able to immediately start using what I learned in the Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign courses.
In these economic times, I can’t tell you what a lifesaver you’ve been by providing this valuable learning opportunity at no charge. I firmly believe it will help me strengthen my portfolio and allow me to stand out in a very crowded job-seekers market.
Thank you – please keep them coming!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
I’m a freelance graphic designer in the Dallas area. It has been difficult at times to have the creative and technical input that I need because I don’t work in a workgroup environment. I don’t enjoy reading tutorials and frankly I don’t have time. I used to spend hours trying to figure out my own “how-to’s”. CreativeTechs has helped me to cut that time down considerably.
CreativeTechs online live tutorials are fun, informative and very worth my time! I love the live classroom feel! The price of the class is unbeatable…you can’t beat FREE and to get wonderful free information of great value…PRICELESS! The option to purchase the course after the class day for a reasonable fee is wonderful. I know that Craig, Jason and Steve really want to do their best to inform. I never feel as if they are just pushing for a purchase. I have put my schedules on hold in order to be at the training’s. I have been using Creative Suites for a very, very long time and I still learn something new every time I access the CreativeTechs courses! It’s a great way for me to learn and the CreativeTechs team has done a great job!
Thanks and Kudo’s!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
Indepth Photoshop classes in the comfort of my own office. Yes!!!! I can learn as much or more than in a physical classroom or seminar environment, in less time than it takes to drive to classroom. And I can get questions answered. The classes are applicable to a variety of skill levels–they fill in the basics and I learn new features. Please keep offering them!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
I love CreativeTechs’ training. The free webinar format makes it easy to keep up to date and improve skills from locations where quality training is not available. Of course there are polished one-way training programs available online, but they are different from a live course where the audience is contributing and affecting the content of the course.
The sense of humor of the trainers combined with thorough understanding of the content provides an easy-going and informative session. The audience is always filled with helpful people who can share their knowledge as well.
I am looking forward to more classes from the CreativeTechs crew!
Thank you.

1. What makes the CT training…
when I can do the live webinar it is a break in my daily grind, a familiar voice, and even though it is entry level I often pick up a new method or idea. Even when I am working on client project I can listen along.
2. where…
greater Seattle area
3. does this live worldwide format work?
I have had no problems with the live indesign webinars, had an issue with the live illustrator webinar today the viewing part crashed on me, It may of had something to do with coming in halfway through webinar, only the bits and bites know for sure.
thanks creativetechies and luminousworkers!
June 29th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
One difference in your training approach is the combination of knowledge, encouragement and personality. I have attended a couple of other webinars online that were very impersonal and less demonstrative of the techniques.
I work for Rosanne Olson in Seattle.
I’ve attended a Retouch Tuesday Webinar as a participant, and Jason will tell you that I learned a lot! I attended two of your classes in the Seattle location, one on PS and one on SEO with you Craig. Both were very helpful. From my experience with the Retouch Tuesday, I’m sure those are also chock full of information. You both are well versed in your subject manner. I am looking forward to attending online as often as I can.
June 29th, 2009 at 1:33 pm
The Creative Techs training courses embrace the global environment we live and work in – I tune in from New Zealand at 6am.
What I like best is the way the guys recognise we are working with the programmes already, or want to be able to just jump in and use them ASAP and want a crash course in how to use each programme.
They are broken up into good chunks each week so we don’t go into brain overload..
I especially like the real time answers online during each session, just as if I was actually in class. Thanks!
June 29th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
If the number of comments does not confirm both the quality of the training and the overwhelming need for this type of information sharing then anything I could say won’t make a difference.
The format is a success. It is not entirely new but is still innovative in its simplicity and the virtual one-to-one’ness that it communicates. You feel in many ways that YOU are receiving personal training however you still benefit from the power of community that they have infused in to each event.
Now if they could pause Time & Space during regularly scheduled sessions then it would be perfect endeavor indeed. Thats what the recorded sessions are for anyway.
June 29th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
I’d love to do some of your courses, and did register for one, but, because I live in Australia, I need to tune in around 3am.
I like to think of myself as dedicated but there has to be limits!
(-:
If there was some way I could participate at a more humane time I’d be in it for sure.
June 29th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
I live in New South Wales, Australia and when I started the PS course the time was 6.00 am but with daylight saving adjustments in both countries half of the lessons were at 4.00 am. I attended all sessions. I am an ‘oldie’ and it takes me longer to learn these days. Would be very interested in your six months training but glad when the times become better for me. Retouch Tuesdays are great because it is 8.00 am Wednesday here.
Thanks for all you do and hope you can keep it up.

I am just learning photoshop. We have no budget for training. I would love to take this course. I really like the idea of starting with the basics.
I am in the northern suburbs of Chicago.

1. CreativeTechs training is unlike any training I’ve found elsewhere. I have instructional dvds, podcasts, books, and blogs as resources. But only CreativeTechs allows me to participate in a live classroom for free. I have been designing for 19 years now, but I almost always learn a new technique or tip that excites me. Every designer has different approaches to their workflow and there’s so many ways to accomplish something that there’s always something to learn. Generally each webinar has an “Ah ha!” moment for me.
2. I live in Portland, Oregon, USA. I join in for classes at 11am. This is great because I’m not an early morning person.
3. I have recommended CreativeTechs to several people. It feels like people at all different levels of experience are able to participate without feeling overwhelmed or intimated. Joining in the webinar is exciting in the same way YouTube, Craigslist, EBay, or Twitter make you feel tapped into a global community in a way that never existed before, but unlike these sites CreativeTechs combines everything into one live, visual, interactive experience that is like experiencing 3D when you’re used to 2D. Having a thousand people from all over the world tuning in all at the same time is really cool. I also experience a feeling of gratitude; having the friendly and helpful resource of CreativeTechs for free is like getting a present every week. Thank you!

The photoshop class was a treasure.. I could not watch it live because it came in the middle of my workday but I have downloaded each one and watched several times..They are truly wonderful..informative and useful. I would be excited for a 6 month class. I would also love a Corel Painter class. I am in Central Maine..
Being in a worldwide class is extra special…keep them coming.
I am also enjoying each retouch Tuesday..this is very unique to have the person who submitted the photo on line to participate..wonderful
idea.

I cannot say enough about your classes. I have taken all three and learn something new with each one even though I have been using InDesign and Photoshop for years and years. You are a lifeline to what is going on in all the new software. As a trained graphic designer (from the University of Washington) I now find myself living in an area of the country that is woefully in need of training facilities and you fill that void!!! You go over all the essentials and then some and I get more out of them than classes I have taken locally. The question/answer sessions are great too.
I work in Durham NC at a small company that has limited funds for training so your classes are a godsend. I clock on at 1:55pm EDT to watch you.
June 29th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
The webinars are fabulous, but the times are a killer for those of us overseas.
June 29th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
Great job. i love the informality and i think u do a great job.
i would ask that those who purchase the courses, have an option to receive them on dvd so you play it on tv as you follow along on the computer at the same time.
June 29th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
I took the last 10 week Photoshop course and learned more in 1hour + than I ever would have by just reading a manual… I love to be able to see someone do things as they talk it through.. I can only recommend this method of learning… The free part was also very nice, and I liked the presentations so much that I DID buy the video presentations for future reference and to cover some of the classes that ‘life’ forced me to miss.. glad they offer the videos for sale..It was fun and that makes learning much easier.. I WILL definitely take more classes with this format..thanks a lot for this type of teaching.Bless you..
June 29th, 2009 at 4:13 pm
I have been using Photoshop for years and it wasn’t until I went for my MFA that I found out how little I really did know about how to use it. I signed up for Creative Techs free 10 week Photoshop Class and I can’t begin to tell you how surprised I was at the amount I learned. They taught me some things that I never knew existed within Photoshop. They are very easy to follow and teach in terms you can clearly understand. There is very little out there currently that is a live learning format that you can purchase the recordings to, and at such a value! They have the market cornered, to say the least! I am truly grateful to have found them and they are offering their courses at such a good price. I plan to purchase them all by the time all is said and done.
June 29th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
Your classes have been almost like sitting in the classroom with a one on one feeling. It’s not just reading about but actually seeing it done and sometimes redone as needed. I think it’s more indepth than an ordinary webinar. I live in Maine and your site was recommended by a fellow photographer. I try to sign on while the class is going on but your cost for the videos and class material is a wonderful bargain. I purchase and download for another review.
I use webinars for my professional license CE but your webinars are much more like being there with Jason. The ability to interact and ask questions is very worthwhile.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
I think your classes are amazing! The great part is that they are FREE but I have purchased the materials for the course (Illustrator) and the value is incredible!
Obviously, what makes the CreativeTechs training approach different is that the courses are being offered online for FREE! Even if we can’t see the instructor, being able to follow along with the lesson (using the purchased materials) is great and using the chat room on Twitter is also quite helpful. The chat room really adds something that an IRL class doesn’t . . . the comments/techniques shared between those who are “tweeting” are invaluable and could not possibly be accounted for in a IRL classroom because there would not be enough time to follow all these tangents!
I live in Lockport, Manitoba, Canada and the class comes on at 1:00 pm for me. It would be great if there were some classes that fell in the evenings because not everyone can attend these if they are working during the day.
I really like being online with people from all over the world – it connects you in a really neat way . . . makes the world seem a little smaller and more accessible when you can converse online with someone from Scotland, etc.! There have been a few glitches with audio/video but for the most part, this format works great for me! I am lucky enough to have a two monitor setup so I can watch the webinar on one monitor while following the lesson in Illustrator and chat on the other monitor!
I think your plan for a 6 month Photoshop class is very ambitious and sounds FABULOUS! I use Photoshop EVERYDAY and can always find a new way to do something or a new technique to try.
Keep up the great work! Look forward to attending many more of your classes – digital scrapbooking, InDesign, Lightroom, etc.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:22 pm
These online classes are INCREDIBLE! I have learned so much and I have purchased the classes so I can watch them whenever I want. I started with the Photoshop class and am currently taking the InDesign class. I wanted to do the Illustrator class as well but I work on Mondays so that doesn’t work, but i think I am going to buy the downloads. Jason and Craig are very knowledgeable, fun, and easy to understand.
I live near Grand Rapids, Michigan and wish I could travel to Seattle to experience a class LIVE!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
Thank you so much for all you have offered so far. I live on the Olympic Peninsula. It has been great taking your course from home or wherever we have traveled. I have learned a bunch!
June 30th, 2009 at 12:23 am
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
It is FUN, like going to school again, but in my office!
I never took an on-line class before, but the On-line PhotoShop Class was excellent! For me was a very easy way to come up to date on all the new features and refresh some of the old ones.
2. Where do you live?
Madrid, Spain.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Here in Spain we do not have to many options, so YES it is awesome to be able to interact and learn on-line. This is not another “boring tutorial”, it is live, fun and very informative. You have questions coming from all kind of people with different backgrounds but similar professions, and that gives you the opportunity to learn new an better ways to work on the same projects you do every day.
June 30th, 2009 at 1:36 am
My wife and I now live on the island of Zakynthos, a small Greek Island in the Ionian sea.
The availability of computer graphic courses is as you can imagine in very short supply, in fact it is non existant.
The format of your courses allows us both to work with the best in the world as well as the beginers like us, in a way that is not intimidating, bearing in mind our different levels of ability when viewed on a global scale.
My wifes skills are much more advanced than mine, and yet we both feel that we can progress at speeds that suit our differing needs, by virtue of the format by which the courses are taught.
The in depth yet clearly presented bulk of the course has helped me a great deal to understand the concepts at my basic level, while my wife has found that putting the course content together with the question and answer sessions, that always follow up the main delivery, and the pre programme chatting session, she has been able to go ahead in leaps and bounds with her techniques.
The world wide format has also helped us greatly as it feels good when someone in New Zealand seems to be having the same problems as us, and when someone from Norway can offer advice during the chat sessions as to how they overcame a difficulty it is wonderful.
Underscoring the whole is the detailed, professional and clear presentation from the delivery team, who never seem to tire of going over what must seem to them to be fundamentals that people are having troubles with.
If asked to give a testimonial for the whole scheme, I could do no more than to say, as retired teachers both my wife and I feel that we would wholeheartedly recommend that schools across the world adopt this course and this presentation format to deliver such detailed yet fun courses to their pupils.
Please, whatever the outcome of your current intentions, continue this exceptionally good work.
Many many thanks, Tom and Valerie.

I’d like to support this new course Creative Techs is planning to do – 6 Months PS Course is such a great improvement of my skills in digital art and retouching!
And answering the questions:
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Creative Techs has two things that really touched me: first, the professional way to teach, the great skills that Creative Techs consultants have to show how to use the tools and the programs. Second, the good mood in the classes. We’re always laughing, and watch those classes are always fun. I’ve read several magazines with tutorials of PS and other Adobe programs, but watch the classes live and also have the opportunity to have our doubts answered is really a differential. And something important: watching the classes I’m improving my English!
2. Where do you live?
I live in Brasília, Brazil, and I attend the PS Classes here at 3PM. The retouch tuesdays, at 7PM. The connection here comes great and I can hear and watch the classes perfectly.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes, it does. Even if the attender doesn’t speak English, he or she can only watch the class happen and learn a lot with the tools and techniques used. The tips that Jason and Craig send us by mail or even by the chat window during the seminar can be perfectly translated. We can also record the classes (I’ve done this a couple times at home), and review the techniques as we need to use them in our own works.
I give my full support to these new classes, not only for me, but for all people that will be learning a lot more about Photoshop around the world.
Thanks, CTechs for this iniciative.
Regards,
Liz Souto – Brazil

I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and loved the short course I took this year… A 6 month course would be my ideal way of learning Photoshop.. and I sure hope you offer that for us.. Most people learn better by seeing and hearing at the same time , I know I do.. Please keep up the good work you do and keep us learning this wonderful software.. All the best, Tilly
June 30th, 2009 at 4:26 am
I live in New Jersey and I have participated in your InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop classes. I took these in conjunction with classes at my local college, and while those were pretty good for the basics, Creative Techs really brings more advanced concepts to life with great demonstrations. The handouts are excellent, as is the opportunity to download the classes and review at a later time. This way I’m not relying on my potentially less than perfect notes.
Thank you so much for teaching these classes!
June 30th, 2009 at 5:04 am
From NYC and I signed on for PS courses every thursday at 2pm. Even though i can only have it in the background to listen to while working, I was able to pick up on some key issues that I just didn’t get to learn on my own. The speed of each lesson is at the pace where I can keep up while I multitask away which is great. The live format is great for just the idea that someone is there live talking which makes it more like a conference call than a lecture. (because lectures tunes me out after awhile)
Thanks!
June 30th, 2009 at 5:20 am
I enjoy the format because I tune in regardless of what I think the level of training is for a particular class and subject and I’m able to leave it on and tune in and as need to suit my level of understanding. The live audience is also great because people ask questions that I might have or I have the opportunity to ask a question myself.
I am in NYC and tune in at 2:00. This only works at this job because I have a great boss that is flexible and like that we spend the time to better ourselves. She takes the class when possible as well. I can see this time being a problem for some though.
Great job thanks, keep it up. Looking forward to Flash!!!
June 30th, 2009 at 5:42 am
I have not yet taken classes, but – perhaps this is a great recommendation – I read through many of the comments and would be very interested in signing up!!! Please continue with this very useful tool of learning! I will look into the tutorials and classes that you offer.
June 30th, 2009 at 5:51 am
Definitely a great way to learn. You can even ask questions as you go along, or learn from others who ask questions you might not think about. And you don’t even have to leave your house! Fabulous learning tool. Thanks for the “creative learning” from Ontario Canada.
June 30th, 2009 at 5:52 am
1. I haven’t taken any other photoshop courses online or otherwise
2. Minneapolis, MN
3. The live format is not as useful to me as much as the paid $50 download. I am typically busy at 1:00 PM local time, so I relied on the downloadable files becoming available.
June 30th, 2009 at 6:15 am
The CS4 webinars are a satisfying hybrid of convenience and live-classroom interaction. I attend class at my desk, but yet connect with instructors in a way that would be impossible with pre-recorded lessons. The strength of the format is evident as students ask questions and call for clarification of fine points that otherwise would have been passed over. Craig does a great job managing the effort. I was surprised, but in a class of a thousand people most of my questions and comments are directly or indirectly addressed.

I am in Toronto but that does not matter at all. If I had to stay up the whole night for the webinar, I would do it in a blink. I love the online fiormat–it is very easy accessible and flexible– and that too when it is the busiest time in my office. I have worked with Indesign for a number of years–but the gold nuggets that I get have already made a huge impact on the speed of my work.
June 30th, 2009 at 7:33 am
I believe Photoshop is one of Adobe’s most powerful, yet under-utilized programs. An in-depth course, especially one that is modulated into specific categories, would be a must-see for any serious print or Web designer. I’ve been participating in Creative Techs webinars from Phoenix, AZ and believe what this type of e-learning is ahead of the curve – nice work!
June 30th, 2009 at 7:48 am
Hi
I run a headhunting firm based in Dublin, Ireland and am an avid advocate of Creative Tech’s webinars and Tips.
I started watching the first few tutorials live but as I have a young child and the webinars are at 7pm my time, I had to miss a few. I then purchased the series and was able to look at them in my own time. However, without the free live webinars I never would have bothered signing up or paying for the course. Free is the incentive to “try it out” although I suspect most people see the value in then paying for the series. Having it live makes you go back to it once a week and also allows you to participate with comments and questions.
I have told everyone I know about these courses and many of these friends and colleagues have subsequently signed up and hopefully done some business with Creative Techs.
Keep up the good work.
Johnny

Hello from Portland!
I’m a mostly self-taught Photoshop user and you filled in some important gaps in my knowledge. The class was well-paced and entertaining. I’m excited to take the upcoming Flash class and look forward to any opportunity to dig deeper into Photoshop.
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.
June 30th, 2009 at 8:36 am
I have learned quite a bit from your courses. I live in Northern Canada and log onto the webinar at noon local time. I prefer to use the web for the courses because I have to be in the house to provide care for my aged parents. I like the format and the question period. It allows you to ask questions that target the application in the way I’ll be using it.
I’m looking forward to the photoshop course, and when will it start? I learned the programs about 15 years ago. Since then they have changed quite a bit. Thank you for getting me started using adobe again.
June 30th, 2009 at 9:29 am
1. I don’t have a ton of experience with online training, but I found your class on color management very easy to follow. You guys made the subject interesting (easily could have gone very dry!), and I feel I learned a lot from the class.
2. I’m from Mason City, Iowa (the mid-point between Minneapolis and Des Moines). I signed on to an early-afternoon class, which worked great with my schedule.
3. The format seemed to work fine, although I would worry about people being able to view it from other time zones (in Europe, etc). However, I did like feeling connected to designers all across the globe. Being the lone designer at my company (and freelance on the side) can make the profession seem a bit isolating at times. It felt good to know there were other designers out there, just as eager to learn like I was.
June 30th, 2009 at 11:03 am
1. I like the easy style and the fact I don’t have to dress to attend class! Seriously, this works for me as I am temporarily trapped as a caregiver. Attending school is not an option right now but I certainly am appreciative of the skill and version updates. The examples are simple and easy to follow. My first online class in 15 years and I’m not afraid of those simpleton cartoon voices from other online courses!
2. I’m from Cleveland, Ohio. And, again, the early afternoon schedule works fine for me. The 11 AM beomes 2PM, after lunch and time to have had a few cups of coffee.
3. The audio has not worked ever. That is bothersome. I have a friend with whom I would like to share classes at my computer but my phone doesn’t have a speaker. Cell phones eat up precious minutes, so the “free” is no longer free. This is annoying as I would like immediate feedback–two heads are better than one in catching new material. My friend and I have different design thrusts, as well, so the possibilities become doubled if we both get new directions. You work that audio thing out and your classes would be perfect. And we both might be inspired to enter your playful banter! Thanks for the efforts to date, however.

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I had opened Photoshop a couple of times and could figure out a few things but it is too massive and complex to get intuitively. The books I bought were not helpful in learning what it could do. (I could not find out how to do what i thought i wanted to do and wasn’t particularly interested or didn’t understand what they were telling me how to do. Then I found out about this FREE 12 week class. It was so full of understandable information that I bought the download series within a week or two of it being announced. Too much information to get the first time and I could not get all the classes live. Jason and Craig are so likable, I am surprised they need testimonials to convince partners that they will be successful in this endeavor.
2. Where do you live? Houston, Texas.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes. First the information is like precious gold. Being able to ask questions live is important. I’ve got the episodes on my iPhone so I can go over them when I have time.
June 30th, 2009 at 11:12 am
The CreativeTechs webinars are as close to 1-on-1 training as I’m going to find. The level of expertise, the pacing & depth of the training, are exceptional. The fact that this experience reaches world-wide should boost the collective skill-level of artists everywhere and raise standards of the craft in general. Its very stimulating to participate in the webinars. In fact, the amount of knowledge presented is overwhelming.
The ability to access to recordings while I’m working on a project has already been of benefit. They really are a bargain in this sense. I look forward to future CS lessons and would support a 6-month PhotoShop course.
Thanks, CreativeTechs!

Sorry this will be too late for your meeting but here it is:
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
It’s very flexible [not limited by location or time] and you can’t beat the price. I can either listen to the lecture, interact with instructors and fellow students. Downloads and printed materials make a great reference.
2. Where do you live? Tacoma WA
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
From where I sit, it seems to work very well. The only problem I’ve had was the first few weeks I couldn’t hear, but I just switched computers [I had my older computer connected to the internet originally] and sound comes in just fine. Actually, I was able to follow along pretty good without the sound–so maybe I’ll turn it off again ;o)
Looking forward to future classes.
June 30th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
The training is clear and concise. The technology used just works so attending the class is easy. If I need to take a call in the middle of class, that’s fine – I won’t disturb others. Often, others have the same questions I do and those are answered in class when the same question is asked enough or after class.
Because the instructors are working professional, there are often tips and tricks that are not necessarily direct for the class, but are very helpful. There is always more than one way to use a tool so seeing how other designers use a tool often leads to shortcuts in my personal workflow.
2. Where do you live?
East Coast, 2:00pm (Washington DC area)
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
YES! I feel like I’m watching an instructor in a classroom without having to drive somewhere or leave my desk. It is easy to ask questions but I feel like I rarely need to because the instruction usually covers my questions before I need to ask.
June 30th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Jason is really clear in his communication and does not talk up or down to his audience. Even if you know a program well, there are always tips and shortcuts that you can learn. HAving bought the full program, even if I miss part of a session, or forget parts (more likely!) I can go back and watch it again – brilliant!!
2. Where do you live?
Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Mountain time)
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It is even better than classroom formats as I dont have to travel and if a business call comes in, I can still handle it so I dont feel like I am stealing business time and am available to my clients. My questions get answered and the fact that the class is available afterwards for reminding is great! I will be registering for all future classes. There is so much to learn about each program and 6 months sounds just fine! Thanks!
June 30th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I can take this class in my paint clothes or PJs. Can pay the bills or edit other photos while following along. Following along on my laptop is easier to see than in a classroom setting. Also allows me to have another window open to try out the techniques as they are presented. As a single parent, it’s all about multitasking. I also like hearing other’s questions as they ask things I may not think of.
2. Where do you live?
Colorado, USA
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes, it does. I don’t even notice that it’s worldwide. As far as I’m concerned Jason is right here by my side. Time is reasonable here in Colorado.
I purchased this course, and it’s great to be able to review a class when I’m editing a photo and remember that Jason showed a great shortcut to do something I need to now do. I need to back to the pen tool course as I see how quickly Jason can make selections using it, which is my slowest piece. Inspiration to try, try again.
June 30th, 2009 at 6:32 pm
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I can attend while doing other things on my laptop and since I purchased the downloads for Photoshop, I can watch them at my leisure. I am currently attending the Illustrator and InDesign classes when I can get to a high-speed WiFi cafe since I only have dial up at my summer home. I will purchase those downloads as well.
2. Where do you live?
I live in Minneapolis but summer in northern Minnesota.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It certainly does! I feel like Jason is right here at my side and I love listening to the Q&A at the end of the session. This is a great service!
June 30th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
Your webinar was the first webinar that I ever participated in and I was WOWED! I loved being in the privacy of my own home (or on vacation in Costa Rica during week 5) and being able to attend class. Since the classes are live I find I am less likely to use the excuse that I am ‘too busy’ because I feel involved and you might miss me. I also enjoy Jason’s quorky humor –it makes him sound light-hearted all the while we get it that he’s tearing-it-up in the digital word! (And I’m certain you’ve already heard this, but Jason is a great teacher – tells, shows, reviews –and he does it automatically. He also stays on track and this is important to my own learning style).
I think Colorado is GMT 5 (?) I forget –(funny that it was the same GMT as Costa Rica – no cyber-lag!) – so I start class with you at 12:00 MST.
I have told many people about your webinar and many have never even heard of a webinar before. For my experience, I run 2 displays on my PC so I can watch the webinar on one and practice on the other at the same time; or take notes, or check email when there’s too much bacon-talk. I catch myself laughing or talking out loud to you all in Seattle –that’s how close the participation feels. It’s great that since many people will have the same question –all the relevant ones seem to get answered –and in ‘real time’ too. Great to be able to purchase the DVDs since my recordings of my desktop usually have too much background noise – like my dog barking…or me laughing at you guys!
Thank you so much. Love to meet up with you guys sometime up your way!

I am in Tennessee. I enjoyed your last course on PhotoShop. I think your courses are great and you both are very personable. That is what I think makes us all feel that we are in your classroom. I would like to see more video of the actual room while we are waiting for you to start, ie: Not just the “class starts in “X” minutes”, but instead we can see you preparing things. This sounds a great idea. Thanks for offering things like this.

One of the best things is I can watch it at my computer and then try things right away after the webinar. I don’t have to wait until I get home from a seminar.
I am in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Yes, your format works. I can see exactly what he’s doing instead of just hearing someone talk and showing screen captures of what they did.
July 1st, 2009 at 6:51 am
I really have gotten a better understanding of things and how to approach a photo after watching your online training. I subscribe to other online training classes and find that the live interaction in your webinar keeps me focused. (and it’s fun) The best thing is that I can view the classes later if I miss it or need to refresh my memory. And the price is a bargain! I subscribe to all classes because I know they are worth it!
I live in southern California and log in at the same time the Seattle class starts, 3:00 for retouch Tuesdays.
I again have to say that LIVE beats everything. There are alot of people sending questions to Craig (including me) and he is able to voice them during the broadcast. I can get answers on the fly. Sometimes we are all thinking the same thing so my question gets answered before I even type it in.
Please keep this going! It is so helpful! And enjoyable to watch!
July 1st, 2009 at 6:55 am
I have attended many classes but none have been as good as Jason’s classes, he just seems to know what we need to learn in the programs. He has a teaching style that makes learning interesting and fun. This format is so much better than trying to learn from a book.
I also like that I can try out the techniques as they are presented.
I am in Florida so the time works pretty good for me.
Would be interested in a class just on the map making if offered.

I love these classes, and although i have been using this software for many years, Jason and Steve always know more features than I’d ever know. What seems different from the limited classes I’ve taken is that they use these apps and go beyond the basics, and show a lot of things that just make working even easier and more efficient. I like the fact the online audience can also ask questions.
I live in Seattle WA.
The Online format works great for me because I can be in a robe, eating breakfast while it’s happening! How great is that!! And knowing that people all over the world are in ‘class’ too is just exciting, to be making the world a more connected place.

YES. I would love it if this came to fruition.
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
I’m biased because I’ve worked with you guys as techs for my previous employer, seen you in various seminars at SVC and Adobe and know how awesome and knowledgeable you guys are. That aside, I like that there are 2 of you on the webinar and you are fielding questions as you go. You are able to cover a lot of information, it feels casual and easy to follow.
2. Where do you live?
Seattle, WA
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes. I love hearing question from other designers that span the globe. Also, the ability to purchase the entire course is a great feature.

1. These classes are well planned, focused and convenient. With these classes being live we get to have a connection with others in a classroom but still private with no distractions. You can’t get that environment at a training course, convention class or with a video tutorial.
2. I live in Flower Mound, Texas. So 1 PM CDT.
3. The Online format is one-on-one instruction. Questions can be answered immediately. It’s the best way to learn. The convenience of attending the classes is by far the best reason why this format works. The connection to others around the world makes it even better. I am also learning from others asking questions.

1-First of all jason is funny wich always is good.
2- I live in Buenos Aires Argentina
3- If you woudln´t do this format I couldn´t get this amazing classes, is there anything more important? The only thing thats missing are the subtitles.
Craig, if you want to have spanish subs made, we can work something out.

I am a self-taught Photoshop user from v. 5. I live in a small town in MS and there aren’t any Adobe classes in the area. The webinar has been very beneficial. I mainly use Photoshop for digital photography and tend to only use a few tools and filters for most images and others remained a mystery. I have learned how to use the pen tool and other tools more proficiently and learned great new techniques from the webinar. I found it very useful and I would certainly register for other Ps webinars and I also attend Retouch Tuesdays occasionally. Jason is a great teacher and an amazing Photoshopper!
I wish the classes if on Thurs. would start a little later since my club meets on Thursdays for lunch so it’s hard to get home by 1 sometimes.
July 2nd, 2009 at 6:48 am
The Photoshop webinar was invaluable. The format was easy to follow, and Jason is a really gifted teacher (even if he does move really fast). He explains tools in Photoshop really well, and he instills good habits (non-destructive editing, for example) in his students. I pointed a number of other people to the webinar, and I would DEFINITELY point both teachers and students of graphic design and computer-based arts to the longer series if it is funded.
July 2nd, 2009 at 7:10 am
These courses are great! Environmentally friendly (online – no driving), economical (free at webinar), convenient (downloads available if needed), LIVE (holy smokes, I can even comment and ask questions — and I get an almost immediate response!) Most of all, the classes are extremely well done with a little humor thrown in… very engaging.
I have been using Adobe software since the first version of Illustrator and I still learn something new at each class. It’s easy to miss new or changed features in a program when you are using the products for work. (In real-$-time my focus is on getting work done, not figuring out new ways to do it.) These short classes bring me up to speed in just a few short hours and also provide tips and tricks for speedier production.
While there are those who benefit from the classes because they live in remote areas and don’t have access to local classes, I am on the outskirts of LA – right in the middle of everything – but prefer this method of learning to driving and sitting on the freeway for hours in each direction.
Fast – Cheap – Good. I pick all three and you deliver every time! Thank you –

1. CreativeTechs training is different: I can sit in front of my computer in the comfort of my own home, but I still feel I’m part of a live interaction. Well, the fact is I am part of a live interaction. The webinar approach to training is really wonderful. I mark the dates on my calendar in advance, and try to schedule the rest of life around them.
2. I live in Yonkers, NY, just north of NYC. My tune in time is 2pm for the current InDesign and Illustrator webinars.
3. Yes, the format works. Although I’m at home, I’m also part of training that is happening live. The presenters are sociable and sound like they are having a good time. And of course, they are also excellent trainers. I’m learning a lot. With some of the basics it’s a very helpful review, but I always get something new from every session.
4. What is personally so meaningful to me is that I’m presently out of work and on a really tight budget. The webinars keep me focused on what I love, keep me learning, and I can afford them (the front page of today’s NY Times has a blaring headline about June unemployment rates going up — almost 10% — scary). When the recession lifts, I’ll find work. In the meantime Creativetechs is keeping my spirits up. Thank you so much!
July 2nd, 2009 at 9:23 am
1. Creativetech material is extremely well organized and the presenters approach is fresh and enthusiastic. Their Photoshop on-line course was far superior to classroom training I have experienced.
2. I am “retired” in Las Cruces, New Mexico …but have graphic clients in Texas whom I serve digitally (what a wonderful age we live in!)
3. The GoToWebinar interface is brilliant. The ability to hear the lecturer and see the actions taking place “live” make complicated processes clear. The classes are organized to build an understanding of how the software works …from the opening interface “real estate” to complex image manipulation. During the more basic portion of the course, I can frequently work on projects and listen to the lecture. When he touches on something new, I simply “undock” the screen watch ….and I ALWAYS learn something new.
The interaction with live attendees and on-line questions help to clarify the really tough stuff.
As a veteran user of Adobe products, I had the luxury of growing up with their products …and do not envy folks trying to become productive at the present level of software sophistication and complexity. Since I am frequently called upon for advice and solutions, I am always on the lookout for sources of “tips, tricks and techniques.”
Creativetechs have gone way beyond my expectations for a free course! Their knowledge, candor and generosity is superior ….and their newsletter is “gold.” I have recommended their hands-on services to folks in their area, and sincerely hope that they continue to be successful.
Thanks and keep up the good work!!

I’ve been taking the InDesign and Illustrator webinars and I love them! I missed the PhotoShop course so would love it if you offered a longer more in-depth class.
My 2 co-workers and i can all log into these classes from our offices and participate at our own pace. I love that I can try the tips as Jason is talking about them.
I’m in Minneapolis so the time is perfect! Please, keep offering these alternative classes, we’ll keep taking them.
July 2nd, 2009 at 10:04 am
I live in Highland, CA. Love the classes. Ditto to all the great comments! You are very pleasant and fun to listen to and the training is informative. I can never get enough of this material. I have referred several people to your website and training sessions. I would be very interested in the 6-month Photoshop course and other training you’ve mentioned on the horizon. Keep up the good work!
July 2nd, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Thank you for providing an excellent way to learn this complex software. It provides easy access to high quality training. Though I’ve been using PageMaker, then InDesign for quite awhile, I’m still learning new ways to use it more efficiently. I look forward to every session and am sorry I missed the first Photoshop webinar. Will sure to be signing up for the next one. -Madison WI
July 2nd, 2009 at 12:52 pm
I like the vision.
And i love the indesign course. the retouch tuesday seemed a bit too basic for me but you cant hit all levels in one show ofcause.
I tune in at 20:00 for the indesign class, and thats a great time for me, as this beats the tv by far
I live in denmark, and I look forward to see more specialiced events like lighting. And the scrapbooking. not sure if im thinking on the same as you are, but if its a show of how to best gather, organize, sort, keep and reference ideas and projects in a smart way, Im all for it.
Oh and I wouldnt mind looking at 3rd party advertising if it could keep the shows free.
July 2nd, 2009 at 1:14 pm
just to add, what makes it really great is with wireless headsets, or speakers, you can walk around and get other stuff done too. And its a very relaxed way of learning, also due to your way of presenting. to the point where I feel like its almost cheating.
July 4th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
So many people respond, and so many seem to echo my feelings. The courses you offer are excellent; the training is comfortable and truly enjoyable; and the benefit is truly priceless.
I manage an in-plant printing facility and provide graphic design services as well. We are a non-profit, state funded organization that is currently going through massive budget cuts. Additional training is many times viewed as a “non-essential” budgetary item, and as such, I don’t get to take the classes I’d like to – here’s where CreativeTechs is a godsend.
As for the time that your classes take place – I don’t think there will be a magic hour that suits everyone. As it stands now, I sometimes miss a class or two depending on when my supervisor decides to hold departmental meetings. This is why I spend my own money to purchase the entire course so I won’t miss anything. It’s so worth it. Even if the class were to fall at 3am here in Ohio, I feel it’s worth it to get up early that one day a week for invaluable training.
I can’t begin to thank you enough for the training I have received and the good company as well. Where else can you acquire valuable pen tool experience and laugh about the Twinkie plant catching fire next door!
I have posted your website on my blog and will continue to tell everyone about your services.
I would truly enjoy any classes you may hold on Final Cut Pro, After Effects or Motion. You can be assured that I would purchase each of those webinars as well.
July 5th, 2009 at 4:56 am
In response to the question “does this worldwide formula really work?” – I enthusiastically agree! – For the most part.
The functionality of being able to download the weekly videos and notes pages is absolutely invaluable, without it, there would be no point participating. There are a couple of things that would really improve this though.
1. Run some of the programs after 2pm Seattle time, at the moment – its 4am Down Under as you go live across the world! I’d love to be able to participate live in future courses. I do appreciate that you are so generous about responding to questions sent through at any time though.
2. If you want to be global, think and act global. For all its strengths, this is something the US (in general) does not do well. Side comments (eg. about 4th July) are a small annoyance that reminds those of us outside America that we really must look for a local solution. It sometimes comes across as arrogance or ignorance of others. I can’t image being on a phone conference with my colleagues in Perth (on the opposite side of Australia to me & over 3hrs flying away) and referring to something that is well known to people in my state, but not in theirs. To assume they know what I mean or share the same sense of togetherness, actually alienate them.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to continuing the association (from Melbourne Australia).
July 5th, 2009 at 9:23 am
I can’t compare Creative Techs webinars to other current classes, webinars, etc in my town (Spokane, WA) because I’m too broke to take any classes. I can compare it to the expensive University education that I finished just two years ago.
Although I wasn’t being trained in Graphic Arts, using Adobe Creative Suite was a must to complete complex presentation for my Interior Design degree. I took every graphics/technology class that I could enroll in, even those outside of my major in Landscape Architecture, Architecture and Fashion Design since there were few, if any, offered in my own major. None of these come even remotely close to the guidance and training offered by Creative Techs and their on-line community of ‘followers’. I am indebted to Creative Techs for the immense contribution they are making. I am trying to develop skills here that will make me more marketable in today’s competitive job arena. My unemployment benefits do not afford me the liberty to find other courses (not that I’d have any faith that any other courses would surpass what is offered in the Creative Tech webinars). So, I tune in faithfully to the Creative Tech webinars @ 11AM and hope against all odds that I might win a download so that I might have a multiple opportunities to revisit the class and glean what went by too quickly for me when it was live.
What makes the webinars so valuable and so unique is attributable to varying reasons. First, you have a true expert who is using the product as a ‘power-user’ every day in a professional capacity. That means you have the opportunity to learn from someone who understands and lives the constant change in the software, discovers new nuances of the software daily either by happy accident or by collaboration with other professionals. This leads me to the second reason that Creative Tech teachers (Jason and Jason) are so unique. They make the experience live and interesting and communal. They don’t stand and deliver from the front of the room like most educators. They are IN the experience with the webinar attendees, finding solutions and open to the community of ‘followers’ that have answers that they don’t. The experience is more collaborative. And this brings me to the third reason that the webinar experience is so valuable and uniquely engaging… this experience is more immediate for the webinar attendee because they are sitting up close and personal with their own computers, relating to what is going on on-screen in a very personal way. The attendee can even comment and chat with others on Twitter if they feel so inclined. I haven’t been able to achieve that level of multi-tasking yet, I’m such a novice with the software that I can’t divide my attention from the happenings in the webinar and follow all the happenings on Twitter too. This seriously limits the possibility of me winning a free download. And lastly, I think the Q&A at the end of every webinar is extraordinarily helpful. It seems to me that I learn something new or have a deeper understanding of some concept covered in the webinar when the Q&A exchange happens. The interaction between Craig and Jason/Jason are fun to be a part of. I am left wishing I worked with people like them. There are up to phenomenally large projects and they are still respectful and fun with each other. That, in itself, is worth tuning in for. So, in my estimation, the webniars are invaluable and if I had the money, I’d pay for the instruction that I’m getting. The webinars are engaging, personal and loaded with insider information. AND everybody at Creative Techs ROCK!!
July 5th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
I can not believe that a course of this magnitude is going to be delivered FOR FREE. Being a broke college student this is right up my alley. I am always looking to enhance my skills as a Web Designer. This course will definitely push me in the right direction. Im really looking forward to it. Thanks a lot guys!!!
July 5th, 2009 at 6:00 pm
I think someone above me has said it all: CreativeTech webinars are the best. Period. I graduated with a graphics degree in 2005. I have learned more in Jason’s PS course than I did in 2 semesters at college! Jason is organized, personable and a genius at his craft.
I have spread the word to everyone I know; sign up for CreativeTech.
Even in the InDesign tutorial (my main software), I discovered some very useful new shortcuts, methods and tips on working more efficiently. I live in Texas, am currently unemployed and am working to increase my skills. I am signed up for Flash and pleased to see Dreamweaver is in the works. Thanks guys.
July 5th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
BTW,
1. CT experience is awesome because I am able to connect to a real life class interact with the instructors, and learn as if I was sitting right there.
2. I live in Atlanta
3. The live format works very well. The Q and A sessions at the end make getting my questions answered so much easier. Many times I learn something new from other students questions too.
July 6th, 2009 at 1:09 pm
I’m so excited about the prospect of an intense Photoshop Webinar by CreativeTechs!!! I love the format and the instructors. Always chock full of great information and lots of laughs. It’s very convenient to be able to attend at my own desk and if necessary on my own time. The downloadable PDF files are great to have both during the webinar and after to review and refresh my memory. I like the flexibility of being able to download webinars and view them again and again. I attend in Seattle at 11 am and it fits my schedule very well.
July 6th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
I live in Seattle and have the option of attending the Creative Tech webinars in person or sitting in my office. What a bonus. I absolutely love the classes (PSD, Indesign, Flash, Illustrator) and love the way Jason presents. He’s organized, funny, and knows what he’s doing. Jason and I worked together for a number of years and I can’t say enough good things about him. He always could figure out what I needed (from personal experience working with me and other art director/designer types) and got it done fast and in turn, always helped me get things done better. Hence, he knows how to present in a problem/solution set up that allows you to get what he’s trying to convey.
Kudos to Craig Swanson as well for coming up with this service that’s helping people around the world learn these programs in a “down to earth” manner. We owe you guys big time. I am also signed up for Flash and pleased to see Dreamweaver is in the works. Thank you!
July 7th, 2009 at 7:10 am
I love you guys!!! What a class act you are! Your presentation on the webinars is so comprehensive and informative. The only thing that I would like to see is another time to watch the webinar. Now and then things come up and I am unable to watch at 11 am, Seattle-time, and it would be wonderful if I could catch the re-run in the evening.
Keep up the great work. I am looking forward to the photography class. This generous sharing of your knowledge is certain to make a worldwide name for Creative Techs.
July 7th, 2009 at 8:32 am
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Local classes are ok, but you have to displace yourself and if you don’t have a laptop like me you can’t use your own equipment.
Training videos and online tutorials are ok, but you can do them whenever you want and there are so many and you have so little time that you end up doing nothing. This gives you a specific time to enter so you can plan ahead and make time for it and it is on your own equipment.
2. Where do you live?
Spain, I attend classes at 8pm.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It works for me, basically it’s like having a private teacher in your own home, except he sometimes ignores you and doesn’t answer your questions, but most of the time he does and in the end you get all the knowledge you need anyway.
July 7th, 2009 at 5:53 pm
I *love* the fact that I can see you work at the comfort of my computer. Your choice to sell the DVDs of your work for the days I am not able to make the lecture is wonderful.
I teach photography both face-to-face and online at Santa Barbara City College and have recommended my students to take your online classes. It is my belief that to get a better education, one should learn from as many people as possible. Your program is just one more tool I can send students to in order to help round out their education.
Your worldwide education allows me to effectively reach out to my students across the globe.
Thank you for your hard work. I am hopeful that it is all working out beautifully for each of you.
July 8th, 2009 at 7:10 am
You have gotten a lot of good feedback but here is my two cents (devalued to .5 cents due to a bad economy).
I’m an instructional technology grad student at UT Austin and I greatly appreciate this instructional delivery (especially with the explicative that make it so authentic because it reflects my personal take on my engagement with the software).
The questions and answers are invaluable because I would want to ask the questions that are asked.
The world-wide aspect really connects with me personally because I feel linked to a community of like minded technologists.
Keep up the excellent work!
July 8th, 2009 at 8:00 am
These courses have been astounding for a newbie like me. I sit in awe a lot of times just seeing what can be done once I really learn this program. The live format is much easier for me to follow and be able to ask questions while the process is ongoing and then having the downloads to go back over is priceless. Thanks so much for offering courses this way and I hope you will continue.
July 8th, 2009 at 8:01 am
1 – The CreativeTechs approach is diferent, the language is simple, and so far i had no problems with webinar.
2 – I live in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, webinars usually starts around 3pm.
3 – with the webinar, i fell like i am really at class, you can interact with everybody.
sign me up with this course! lets go 6 month!
July 8th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
1.
Well first of all, they are live, they are different than local classes because there are no such classes available everywhere, a class like this would be very hard to find in a beach destination such as my actual home, perhaps back in the city, but now I dont live there, so no local classes, the difference from training videos is that these are live classes! any question or doubt gets answered right away if not passed on to the Q & A and then discussed with more detail.
2.
I live in Mexico, to be more specific in Punta Mita, which is close to Puerto Vallarta, 340 days of sunny days! Classes are about 1pm here (11pm seatlle time)
3.
It definitely works!!! You get to see hands on what Jason is doing, and how he is doing it, plus you get to post your questions right there and Craig may answer them for you or save them for the Q & A session where all the doubts and problems are solved, tips come in handy at any time of the class, and very useful as you see them on the go.
The format is really simple, 1 hour of class and then 1 hour of Q & A, couldnt be better than that!
July 10th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
I am new to these lessons, so I cannot yet comment on their quality. However, I have registered for the Flash 10-wk course, I would love to take the Photoshop course, and also the Illustrator course. I particularly appreciate videos and ones that give as much detailed, step-by-step instruction as possible, so I can see what is being done as well as hearing it. As a student at the Art Institutes Online Division, I welcome anything that can help me keep my grade point average high. And free works VERY well for me as I am disabled and on a VERY limited income. Please keep them coming and I’ll be happy to comment on the quality/comparisons after I have taken one or two of your courses. Thanks!
July 13th, 2009 at 5:06 am
I have purchased three complete 10-week training courses from CT and they’ve all been tremendously helpful. In my experience, you can’t really learn the nuances of these programs from books, and these in-depth courses really fill a void. Also, when you add up the class and Q&A, each course comprises 20+ hours of training for $50, which is an incredible deal.
July 13th, 2009 at 8:01 am
I have enjoyed the classes very much. They are informative without being uptight and formal. I live in Statesboro, GA which is 3 hours from Atlanta, which is the most common stop in GA for training. With the current state of the economy, it would be tough to get corporate to spring for a trip to Atlanta, hotel, food, etc. However, they had no issue with my spending a couple hours a week on the webinar or reimbursing me for the video downloads. Thanks so much!
July 15th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Loved the classes I’ve been able to attend. Work gets in
the way sometimes. I want to attend all the classes but right
in the middle of the work day that many days a week just
isn’t possible! Love the format, informal but very informative!
I’m in South Seattle.
Listened to the Digital Photography class today — really
looking forward to the next 3!

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
(How does our class format compare to local classes, training videos, or other online webinars?)
These classes are terrific beyond compare for the following reasons:
a. the high quality of the content. Lessons are well thought out, well organized, and pitched at a highly professional level. I’m not a novice, and I’ve learned something knew in every session.
b. the high quality of the delivery. Audio is excellent, crystal clear for the most part (much better than what I’ve experienced in other webinars)
c. the hosts: their rapport and sense of humor enhance the experience. In other webinars I’ve attended, the banter often proved a distraction and sometimes became irritating
d. extensive q and a. I’ve picked up great tips just from the questions and answers section
e. unparalleled flexibility. You’re the only ones I know of allowing entire sessions to be downloaded. And this makes all the difference. One can’t always attend these things live, and being able to do so on one’s own time is priceless.
f. ah, let me not forget: price. The price can’t be beat. I’ve purchased 2 series so far (Photoshop, Indesign) and plan to purchase the others as well.
g. community: as more people join in, a sense of community seems to be forming, and that too adds to the appeal of the classes.
2. Where do you live?
(We want to demonstrate the size of our audience with the comments on this post. Tell us where you live, and what time of day you join in for class.)
I live in Los Angeles and join in at 11am.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
It sure does. I travel a lot, and it’s nice to know that I can log in from basically anywhere. Pity that the scheduled classes sometimes conflict with the dinner hour abroad. But that’s the beauty of the creativetechs model: if you missed a session, you can download it later and catch up at your convenience.
So thanks Craig, Jason and the entire CreativeTechs team for the brilliant concept and wonderful execution. And it’s been great fun too!
July 20th, 2009 at 11:55 am
I just discovered the free online training from Creative Tech through the Adobe CS4 Facebook group. I was a bit skeptical about how useful the hour would be but, I was impressed. The tutorial was informative and easy to follow – despite the bandwidth issue. I’d really like to participate in your planned photoshop training.
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Your webinar runs smoother than other online classes I’ve had. WebEx and Genosys require too much bandwidth.
2. Where do you live?
I’m writing from Rockford, IL.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
This format is optimal for me. I don’t have time to take night classes and there is just too much to do during the day miss work. Sparing a hour – and only an hour – allows me to work right up till class time and then get back to it afterwards. I can even continue to work on small projects during the class.
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:22 am
I live in Raleigh, NC, and watch most of the 10 wk Photoshop, InDesign, Retouch Tuesdays, and now Illustrator and Flash. These webinars are fab, and I’m really looking forward to the 6-month Photoshop class. I love sitting at my own computer and getting in on the lessons without leaving my studio. I’m sure I’ll be purchasing some of these as I can. You guys are so awesome!! Thanks!
July 25th, 2009 at 10:57 am
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different? The relaxed sharing attitude. Also the varied comments from other viewers across the globe, so that difficult or undiscussed points are immediately recognized and addressed.
2. Where do you live? Next to Music City.
3. Does this live worldwide format really work? What I like is the relaxed friendly positive attitude. The instructors more than welcome comments from across the globe so that undiscussed topics or asides are addressed completely.
The occasional technical difficulties will be handled as the service grows. What is so special about the class is the world-wide participation. I feel live global participation enriches exponitionally the information I receive.
July 31st, 2009 at 8:34 pm
I am so excited to have found Creativetechs! Don’t even remember how! Am very much interested in attending Digital Photography and Photoshop courses via Webinar. Missed most of the first Photoshop course, and today camped out for over half of the Photoshop Marathon… would have listened to all except had already scheduled/made commitments before receiving the email. Creativetechs is my introduction to Photoshop! Just purchased CS4 and Lightroom2, and the Webinar today served to introduce me to a world of possibilities! Will need to purchase the Marathon downloads! Such a wealth of information! The thought of your 6 month program blows me away! Can’t wait!
I’m also new to the digital SLR world (just bought one) and am loving the Digital Photography Webinar/John Greengo!
How is the current “CreativeTechs Experience” different? Specifically compared to local classes, training videos, or other online webinars?
Availability! I can’t find anything local that compares! Have been searching high and low for someone local who teaches digital photography to no avail. After today’s Marathon Photoshop, my only thought is … you’ve got to be kidding! Even if a course(s) was available in my area, no one would share forth that amount of information in one year, let alone one day, and FREE??? Unheard of! The paid downloads are worth their weight in gold! Creativetechs is my introduction to Webinars as well! I feel like I’ve hit the mother lode! Have never taken a training Webinar before nor training videos, however, can say that Creativetechs Webinars are of superb quality and ease of access, instructors easy to understand.
Is there a large audience for this type of training? I couldn’t imagine there not being a large audience! With all the modes of communication, have come across many who are searching high and low for this type/quality training. As I said before, your Webinars/training would be hard to beat, even if there were something to compare… which I haven’t found!
Does our live worldwide training format really work?
I love everything you’re doing! Am most grateful the worldwide training is worldwide and free. Love that the downloads are also available and not prohibitive price-wise… although… they are worth a lot more! I especially like the “casual banter” back and forth – between the moderator/instructors, keeping things light with such extensive material… a reprieve every now and then from all the extensive, invaluable material!
Works for me
Thanks so much! Love what you guys/gals are doing!

1. Online is great way to teach/learn. I especially like the ability to go back later and rewatch the downloads. Would appreciate your proposed format where some of the sessions are more basic. Sometimes was a bit fast if one is not as familiar w/ all the shortcuts and couldn’t see how Jason went from one point to another.
2. Midwest Central Standard Time. 1:00 – 3:00 is best. After that, people are enroute home from work. The Illustrators that started at 5 CST were the worst time: ending work, driving, getting dinner. Missed nearly all of them.
3. Worldwide is wonderful but the time differences must be so challenging for you to try to accommodate all, that I wonder if there could be the original live broadcast, then possibly re-runs made available at various times w/in something like a 24 hr. period of when the live broadcast was done.
4. Haven’t seen anything yet regarding the DVD of the first 10 wk course. Did that fall through? Would it be available for other courses?
5. Would it be possible to have downloads and/or DVD’s of future sessions accessible in both Mac and Windows format? The original 10 wk PS course downloads cannot be viewed w/o special software to convert the video format to something Windows can open. I know many people who would be interested in purchasing the downloads, but not have to go through the additional cost and time (plus know-how) to do the conversion.
Thanks for reading and I can’t wait to sign up for another PS course!! Thanks so much for being ahead of the game.

CreativeTechs training approach is comprehensive with their instruction and Q & A sessions. I learned a lot of new techniques attending the webinars.
This format works because of the amount of participants asking questions, which then shows the common difficulties in software learning. The format is easy to follow and unlike a live class, it is recorded for purchase.

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
Its FREE, and available to everyone with a computer and internet connection any where in the world. It brings together people from all over who want to learn new programs and skills.
2. Where do you live?
London, UK
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes. As long as the time-zone works for you. You can join the class and ask questions just as if you where sitting in the room in Seattle.
These have been the best classes I have ever “attended” free or otherwise.

Thank you so much for the classes. They have helped me a whole lot.
1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?

I can’t begin to tell you guys how very important what you are doing is. The reason why is that there really isn’t another class out there like yours. And what I mean by that is live training run in real-time, online, with question and answer sessions, all of which you can download if you want and watch again.
Yes, there are books out there with tutorials and websites with the same, but they are not run in real-time, so questions that come up do not have the ability to be answered that way. All other training is standardized, but yours is actually personalized because of that, and that makes all the difference. Not to mention the price of the downloads!
All I can say is that you guys have truly “cornered the market,” so to speak, and I am truly grateful for what you have done. PLEASE don’t change a thing! You are doing some amazing things for people, as I know what only a few classes have done for me. I can’t wait to get through all of them!

1. What makes the CreativeTechs training approach different?
First of all, many thanx to all who came up with this idea, i’ve never knew these Webinar format existed + would be so effective. Comparisonwise, i don’t really know any other training doing this kinda approach/format, so i can’t really make the comparison, except for youtube clips, which i find yours much better because its interactive. I’ve signed up for 2 classes – 10-week Digital Photography + 6-months Photoshop and though both recently started, i found them superbly excellent, though both varies in many aspects. Your approach is different in a way that there is a clear understanding of the subjects presented, and the most fun part of all is that u try to involve participation of the viewers by having polls and Q+A sessions, which i found them valuable, engaging + enjoyable.
2. Where do you live?
I’m from Malaysia, we are located in Southeast Asia (yeah, the other end of the world) + since i’m a fresh graduate and currently unemployed, i managed to stay up from the class starts here at 2a.m. to around 4a.m. (plus we are fasting here-so not really a prob), however i’m not sure how i would cope if i were to get a job anytime soon… =/
3. Does this live worldwide format really work?
Yes, it does, efficiently + effectively. i would definitely recommend them to anyone who is interested as i have. When i first joined, i was also pretty much clueless on how the Live Webinars are conducted + a lot of questions in my head as to do i need to prepare anything, dwnload anything, etc. Simply as it is, u provided us with reminder emails (which i find very useful) together with the links, + i’m ready to go.
Being tech-savvy, but apparently, not so tech-savvy enough, i was afraid + also excited to try new things, + so far it has been well over my expectation. I will definitely look forward to participate in any other of your classes (if time/condition permits) by your training, will give support + spread the word around on how excellent the classes are. Please do keep up the good work + keep the training free!!! XD
Lotsa Thanx again!

The first thing to do is know what the precious metal is worth currently it is worth Ł4.09 per gram nevertheless unless a shop believes they can turn it round quickly ( very unlikely with todays gold price) they will not give you that. We would provide Ł3.48 /gm these days but this varies all the time, we would remelt it and make some thing new.

Thanks for giving us some good ideas on dog insurance. I have found a great variety of good recommendations about dog insurance and some not-so-good information. Do you have any more reliable information or places on the Internet that I can find more detailed ideas? This would be very much appreciated! Either way, keep up the good work!
