Creative Tip: Retouch Tuesday. Send YOUR Photos!

RetouchTuesday.png

Every image is different. Once you learn retouching fundamentals, there is still so much more to learn. Thus, we bring you Retouch Tuesday. We’re asking you to send in your real-life photos. We’ll pick a couple retouching challenges, and each Tuesday, we’ll invite a few couple participants from around the world to join Jason for a personalized live retouching session.

GoToWebinar Link: Retouch Tuesday

Send us your photos using Jason’s YouSendIt Dropbox. Include a description of the retouching you need to do on this image. Jason will work one-on-one with a couple lucky participants, while the rest of us get to watch and learn from the examples. This is an experiment, so let us know what you think.

To attend, make sure you are enrolled in our current 10-Week Photoshop Course. We’ll include a webinar link in the weekly email notifications we send to that list.

We’re scheduling these sessions 4 hours later in the day than our normal class time. Participants in Australia should be particularly happy about not having to wake up quite so early. Read on for scheduling times

Fantastic! It was very helpful to see retouching in action on a wide variety of images.

  2. John Fahrnkopf Says:

This was fantastic. Lots of images with similar problems to mine, so it was very valuable. I would like to see some portrait retouching, though.

    Thanks,
    John

I got so much out of “retouch” Tuesday, especially since you did one of my pictures. Please keep it up, I have learned so much and can’t wait for Tuesdays and Thursdays!

  4. Becky Says:

This was great! I loved watching the master in action. I picked up lots of good tips as usual. I have to pick my jaw up off the floor now and go fix dinner.

  5. Bek Says:

I learned a lot today – thanks so much for doing these classes!

  6. Carol Says:

Retouch Tuesday was great. Seeing “the master” in action was so much better than reading directions in a book. I saw great techniques in action and heard lots of tips. I will be tuning in next week and I will tell others so that they can tune in too. Thank you, Jason!

  7. Carena's Designs Says:

Amazing seeing the practical application of all the workshops in action. I’ve learnt so much. Some of the photos I would have chucked away and simply redone the photos but now I can see it is possible to correct them. Thank you guys your are totally awesome. Love the workshop. Brought the entire workshop – it is so worth it. Fabulous. Hugs from Scrapbooking Designer.

  8. Jana Says:

Thanks for this great opportunity to watch a pro-photoshop wizard do his stuff! Lots of things I haven’t seen before, lots to learn!

  9. stanley Says:

I can’t thank you guys enough. The hours just fly by and as far as I’m concerned it was $50 more than well spent. Watching Jason work is a privilege….

  10. Tina Says:

Hey guys, this was great – so informative! Thank you SO much for making it later: I’ve been unable to attend the live PS classes due to the time difference in Melbourne, Australia, but I’ll be buying the course for sure!
    Jason’s a star!

  11. Jim Says:

This was such a valuable experience! To watch Jason correct bit by bit until an “iffy” photo took on new life and became dazzling in comparison, was so instructional and helpful. All the different examples, really gave a new perspective to retouching. Thank you so much!!

  12. Brandon Says:

Awesome class. What’s best about watching him do this, is that he explains why and the benefits of doing it that way. He shows a couple different ways to do something. This is by far better than any video tutorials I’ve watched from other venders.

Please support these people! They’re doing great things for so many.

  13. Bruce Travis Says:

This was a GREAT lesson. It is so much easier to watch a master at work than read it from a book. I like the way he tells what keys he is using. Thanks so much

  14. Valerie Says:

WOW! Jason, you are good! Thanks for letting me sit in. I didn’t think anybody had a use for the high pass filter. And I loved your sharpening technique. The later hours worked better for me. Now I’ve got to go rob my piggy bank and see how much change is under the sofa seat cushions. Money is tight and I promised myself I wouldn’t buy this series, but you are making it very hard to resist. Photoshop is an amazing program and you have a real talent for understanding it. Thanks again!!

  15. Shirley in NJ Says:

Retouching Tuesday was so cool … it’s like Photoshop TV. It gave me the opportunity to see what I know in theory put into practice. To take a questionable photo and bring it into the spotlight as a wonderful shot is any photoshopper’s dream. Jason is a MASTER at this and a sheer pleasure to watch. It was great seeing everything he’s been teaching on the Photoshop Webinars brought to life in a practical, step-by-step way.
    Looking forward to next week!

  16. Marcie_H Says:

Amazing! Jason thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent with us. You are an excellent teacher as well as an a genius with Photoshop. The 2+ hour class was organized, informational and over entirely too soon.

I highly recommend the class and the video’s!

  17. Deani Kirkness Says:

The retouching session was amazing. Seeing the skills we have learned in the PhotoShop class put into practice during this lesson really helped me understand them even better. It is amazing to me that we (people out hear in web land) have the opportunity to learn from such excellent professionals in a forum like this. I paid $700 to take a PhotoShop class at our local college a few years ago. There were no handouts, no support, no feedback, no application. It was a waste of my money. I didn’t retain much of anything. Now, I have an unbeatable format, a fabulous teacher (and support person), a fun/non threatening environment, great follow-up information and a great price. The retouch class is such a bonus. I feel like the luckiest PhotoShop student ever!

  18. Lisa H Says:

This was fabulous!!! Seeing the techniques actually put into practice on various photos was so instructional! Jason is such a Photoshop master and an excellent teacher as well. It is a joy to watch him work & I’m learning an enormous amount from these sessions. It was also so valuable to see just how Jason approaches the retouching step by step – including trial and error of various techniques to determine which is the best fix for the particular photo. I just can’t say enough how wonderful these classes are – Thank you so much!!

  19. Scarlett F. Says:

It’s rare to be able to peer over a pro’s shoulder, watch him make decisions, backtrack, try different approaches to see what works best. A fabulous opportunity and lots of fun too. Thanks for making this possible!

  20. Susan C Says:

Retouch Tuesday was awesome! There is so much to learn from watching. Thank you!

  21. Stuart McM Says:

Watching the tutorials and tips is one thing. Watching Jason retouch ‘live’ is another. A fantastic class lasting over 2 hours showing how it’s done in ‘real life’ – well worth staying up late for! Well Done.

  22. saige Says:

What fun Jason. Retouch tues was both informative and entertaining. Thank You I can’t wait to try and replicate your steps made to my photo. I really appreciate that you answer questions with humor and patience. and as I can see by the comments this is the way we enjoy learning… by watching a master and following his lead!
    Saige

  23. Jay Andrew Says:

First – a thank you to those who provided images for Jason to work on.

Secondly – A HUGE ‘Thank You’ to Jason for showing us ‘how’ to actually put things into practice and how to find different ways round a problem. It was a joy to watch a master at work whilst sitting at home, thousands of miles away, thinking ‘I must dig out some of those old images and re-use them’.

Thank you once again Jason for an excellent tutorial session.

  24. Bryonna Denning Says:

It’s one thing to for me to learn Photoshop tools, another to try to figure out which one to use when. Retouch Tuesdays are a most useful and inspiring add-on to Creative Tech’s incredible Photoshop 10-week course.

I’ve learned (and am learning) more from these online sessions than I have from the numerous books I’ve bought and online schools I’ve attended previously. And I pick up even more tips when I review my downloads of the classes.

Jason is a great teacher. He really knows his craft, has an eagle eye for detail, a masterful touch, and years of experience in knowing and showing what can take a picture from dreary to WOW. Plus he presents in a light-hearted manner and keeps the content moving rather than plodding.

Thanks so much to Jason, Craig and Creative Techs for the great quality, value and learning experience you’re providing!

  25. Sonia Says:

Indeed awesome. The classes are great, but Retouch Tuesday gave us one valuable asset to work with: managing all tools at once, and choosing the best one where many apply. Thank you!

  26. Bruce Travis Says:

I thought your retouch Tuesday was great!! It helps a lot to watch a expert operate. You said we could record the session. Can you tell me what program to use ? Thanks

  27. Jeanne Richardson Says:

I learned so much watching Jason work! He’s amazing, fast and makes it look so easy. With the new knowledge I have, it’s interesting to see what others have suggested to do in Photoshop and I can now say, “Wait, there’s a better way!”. I appreciate how he shows non-destructive ways to retouch images that you can easily go back and change if need be.

  28. Carol Says:

Thanks for the retouch Tuesdays! Seeing the webinar lessons transformed into ‘real’ photos is amazingly helpful. So far I can only catch about half an hour of the sessions, but that’s better than none at all. I purchased the Photoshop downloads, and some of the retouch Tuesdays are available for download. Will the rest be added? Jason, thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips!

  29. Norman Carey Says:

I bought the Photoshop Course which is excellent but would love to get in on these retouching lessons. Local time prevents me watching at the broadcast and I would be delighted to see possible downloads. Any chance?

  30. John Says:

Is there a way to archive the Retouch Tuesday videos into a streaming video format of some sort? I am at work during the time when these Retouch webinars are online, and have missed all of them due to this. It would be great if I could come home from work and view them and see what all the rage is about. But alas…. I am not in the loop.

  31. David Ingersoll Says:

Folks, if you’ve purchase the Photoshop Course downloads you can also download our Retouch Tuesdays. Craig is working to get all the previously recorded sessions online. He’s added 3 today and more are coming. You’ll find links to the downloads on the main link access page. If you have any further questions feel free to email me at help@creativetechs.com

    Thank you for joining us!
