Digital cameras can do things film cameras cannot: displaying images on a screen immediately after they are recorded, storing thousands of images on a single small memory device, recording video with sound, and deleting images to free storage space. Some can crop pictures and perform other elementary image editing. The optical system works the same as in film cameras, typically using a lens with a variable diaphragm to focus light onto an image pickup device.

I actually carry a copy of OS X Server on my USB drive, minus the printer drivers and additional language stuff. Between Server Admin, Workgroup Manager, and the command line, that provides me with pretty much anything I'd need for software issues.

I to am interested in what tools/utilities you have installed on the 8 gb flash drive. What utilities do you feel are the essentials???

I do like those cards, but they are really pricey, is their another maker that is more affordable?

These days, my consulting toolkit consists of <a href="http://creativetechs.com/tipsblog/watch-for-seattles-ponytailed-software-geek/" rel="nofollow">Jasson Lewellen</a>.

As long as I bring him along, I find I don't need much else.

I like this "tip". As a tech I also carry all of these items but they aren't on my keychain.

1. I carry both a Mac and a PC formatted USB flash drive. I attached short (wrist-size) lanyards on each and them tied them to each other. I've forgotten them in the USB slot from time to time but they've found their way home each time.

2. I _do_ carry Swiss-Tech's Utilikey on my keyring. It's been there for over 5 years and its hinge has not weakened. It has never fallen off. I must do more field work than Craig so I find that it itsn't enough. Thus, I also have a Leatherman-type tool attached to my belt.

3. I carry business cards in a leather business card holder in my back pocket. They get a bit warped. So, I also have non-warped ones in my briefcase.
