Help Keep e-Waste out of Landfills with Our New Program

While electronic waste represents just 2% of the trash Americans send to landfills, it equals a staggering two-thirds of all toxic waste. That’s sobering, and it’s a problem CreativeTechs is taking steps to mitigate with our IT Asset Disposal program. 

We’re pleased to be working with a third-party partner to provide a secure and environmentally friendly disposal process for your decommissioned IT assets.

Not only does our program keep your old devices out of landfills, but we also work with another partner, Veritree, that ensures a tree is planted for every device that’s properly disposed of through our program. Veritree focuses on rebuilding U.S. forests that have been affected by drought and wildfire, and recycling your old assets through our program is instrumental in repopulating these green spaces. More trees, of course, means less carbon dioxide entering our atmosphere, and a reduced global warming impact. 

The CreativeTechs IT Asset Disposal program is safe and simple: 

• Ship us outdated equipment that’s gathering dust in a back room or closet somewhere. We ask that you include power cords and/or AC adapters that came with servers, workstations, monitors, etc. You can use any old box for shipping. 
• If you have a large amount of equipment to recycle, we’ll work with you on a bulk disposal plan that includes white-glove packing service and free shipping materials—meaning your team doesn’t have to lift a finger. 
• Upon receipt of your castoffs, we’ll erase client data to strict standards and guidelines set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce that promotes U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology. Your data will be securely erased to NIST 800-88 standards, and we can provide you with a certification of data destruction once the disposal process is complete. 

After assets are completely wiped, we work with our partner to determine the next step: reuse, recycling, or proper—and safe—disposal. 

Veritree is notified about your clean disposal, and they work with any of a number of organizations to ensure a green space is made greener and more healthy.  

The fee for disposal services is wrapped into your service agreement with CreativeTechs, so there’s no additional cost. Let’s work together to help keep e-waste out of landfills, while reforesting our national woodlands.
