Displays

Asus monitor display | CreativeTechs.com

ASUS ProArt 27-inch

PA279CV
4K HDR UHD (3840 x 2160) | 100% sRGB/Rec. 709 | ΔE < 2

Good quality, great value – works in portrait or landscape mode. Has USB-C with power delivery, that means the cable you connect to the display can also share your MacBook Air. (It’s 65W so it will charge the Apple Silicon MacBook Pros as well, just not super fast.) We’ve recommended dozens of these over the years and haven’t had a single complaint.

ASUS ProArt 34-inch

PA34VCNV
21:9 | 3440 x 1440 | 3800R Curve

Pretty much the same display as the one to the left, just bigger… And bigger can be better when it comes to displays. This one has 96W power delivery, and an Ethernet port!

BE LIKE KYLE!

Apple Studio Display highly recommended | CreativeTechs.com

Apple Studio Display

Nano-Texture Glass | Tilt-Adjustable Stand

Can’t go wrong with an Apple display. The built in center stage camera, mic and speakers are an extra bonus. Nothing to futz around with, it all just works.

Because we are required by Apple to only link to Apple products on their website. You 100% might find it for a few dollars less elsewhere.

GO BIG LIKE TIM!

Samsung Odyssey LS49CG932SNXZA 49″ Gaming Monitor

OLED | Curved | 240Hz | 0.03ms

I like this one because it’s essentially like having two 27″ inch displays without having the gap between them. It can be overwhelming, but for me it works great. Is it massively color accurate, nope. But it’s decent. And it works great with my old eyes.

Hubs / Docks / Dongles

THE GOLD STANDARD

CalDigit hub | CreativeTechs.com

CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock

This has it all. If you need to plug something in, this likely has two or three of these ports that you need.

TRAVEL FRIENDLY OR
I JUST DON’T NEED THAT MANY PORTS

Anker hub | CreativeTechs.com

Anker 332 USB-C Hub

5-in-1 | 4K HDMI Display | 5Gbps

I keep this in my bag for just in case…

If you are ever looking at a few similar products from a bunch of brands you don’t recognize, lean into Anker.

JUST NEED AN ETHERNET ADAPTER

uni adapter | CreativeTechs.com

uni USB C to Ethernet Adapter

Obtains stable connection speeds up to 1Gbps; downward compatible with 100Mbps/10Mbps networks. This Type-C to LAN Gigabit Ethernet (RJ45) Network Adapter supports large downloads at maximum speeds without interruption.

Cameras

ROCK SOLID

Logitech Brio PRO X 4K Webcam

We have recommended hundreds—no complaints.

TIM’S CURRENT CAMERA

icontact pro | CreativeTechs.com

iContact Pro

Truth be told, I’m vain. I have probably tried them all and switched preferences over the years, probably at least twice a year. This is my current one, and I’ve actually kept it for over a year. A big reason for it is that with the giant display I have, it’s hard to get a camera position that makes it feel like we’re looking at each other. And that’s why I love the iConatct Pro.

GREAT FOR LARGE GROUPS

Osbot camera | CreativeTechs.com

OBSBOT Tiny 2 Webcam

4K Voice Control PTZ | AI Tracking Multi-Mode | Auto Focus

I had the previous model of this and it was great; my biggest issue was finding a location for it where it felt natural and wasn’t looking down on me. I still use it when I’m presenting to large groups because it allows me to move around and be more engaging and think less about sitting still so I’m in the camera. Clearly I have no media training.

Sound Things

Air Pods Pro

Wireless, automagically switches between devices, has FindMy built in. The sound is great, noise cancelling works well on planes or lawnmowers. Big fans. Great for conference calls too. Especially great for meetings in shared workspaces.

Because we are required by Apple to only link to Apple products on their website. You 100% might find it for a few dollars less elsewhere.
